Raising Money for Cancer Research

Todays blog is different as I want to try and get the ball rolling for my friend Michelle, she is trying through crafting and donations to raise money for the Royal Marsden hospital, I suspect a lot of you out there have heard of this very famous hospital in its leading the way to find a cure for cancers.

Fortyfour years ago I lost my little lad to Acute Lympthatic Leukamia at the age of 6 months, unfortunately in those days they didnt have anywhere near the answer to try and reverse the way it ravaged through my sons body, but with all the research that has been done over the years they now have a very high proportion of sufferers attaining remission and even going on to be completely cured of it.

I am hoping by making my own case public that more people will click on that top right button and donate money or goodies to the fund and hopefully we shall be able to raise a lot of money for the hospital to use in the research of this dreaded discease. Please donate if you are able, and it doesnt have to be much, even £5. will give you a chance of going into the draw for some beautiful prizes that have been donated to the cause.

Although I did'nt say but my little lad is just 26 days old in this photo, and he was extremely forward for his age. I know its along time since he died, but to me he's still very much part of my life, and I want to try and help others to achieve the best for their own cancers, and if by publishing my own experiences I hope it will help to raise donations for the cause. Thank you so much Rach for your comments it really means a lot to me.

Another fantastic cause. I lost a friend to breast cancer a few years ago. I think all autistic children have very generous hearts. Daniel is also highly intelligent which was part of the problem finding a school that was academically right for him. Teachers have always said since he was small that he has a photgraphic memory, just a shame no one picked up on his condition till 2 years ago! I will come back later and make a small donation for you Shirley!

Hello Shirly, what a beautiful baby. You have been brave to draw people attention to this worthwhile cause as unfortunately it's the only way to raise awareness.

I know exactly what you mean when you say he will always be part of your life, I lost my first baby, a little girl and no matter how many years pass there is always a small light shining for them.

Shirley,
I was amazed when I saw your post and I had tears in my eyes. Thank you so much for helping to spread the word. It means so much and three of your kind followers have made donations which are so appreciated. The past week, I've been feeling like "oh my gosh, what have I done? Have I bitten off more than I can chew?" but when I read something like this and when people start to donate, it suddenly doesn't seem that difficult anymore and my fingers start flying across the keyboard as I try to spread the word across cyberspace. Thank you so, so much for your touching story! I think your son is most definitely in your life still. My grandmother is still part of my life and my Aunt Norma even though they passed on years ago. They're just angels around us.
