Cards For Men - Challenge Three "Love/Valentine"

Hi Everyone, welcome to the third challenge for Cards For Men, this first of two challenges for February is "Love or Valentine" and it is a Sketch this time. We are now going fortnightly and that is because weve had such a fantastic response to our Challenge Blog, and thought it might be nice for you to take part twice a month, it certainly will give you more chances of winning our prizes, and for this challenge Donna of http://www.donnasdenofcrafts.co.uk is offering you a Die-Cut Decoupage Book, it will make 8 cards or more.
My DT choice for this challenge is one of Mo Mannings Digi Stamps "Seniors in Love" as it reminds me of myself and my dear hubby, and Im going to give to him as a Valentine Card, just hope he doesnt see it before the 14th. Ive coloured the image which I printed onto white card with my copic pens, then cut it out with my circle Nestabilitie die and used a piece of red card and the Scalloped circle one for the mount, Ive stuck them together with some foam tape. The sentiment is one that I created on my computer and printed it and mounted it in the same was as my image.
The base card is a 8"x 8" white card, and with my first layer Ive used the same red card, and a paper that I took from my "Making Cards" magazine and stuck to it. I then used another of the papers and my deep edge border heart punch Ive created a piece that I have stuck down the centre of this card, on top of this I have stuck a piece of hessian ribbon.
I then stuck my mounted image on top in the centre and my sentiment to the bottom on the right hand side. Ive not put any embellishments on this card as I didnt think it was appropriate for a mans card.

What a sweet Valentine!! I so love that image. When my hubby and I first were married we were always mesmerized by the love of older couples and said that will be us someday, Lord willing. This image reminds me of an older couple walking down the street together hand in hand in total love with each other. Gorgeous card and design!
hugs,
Chris

Beautiful card. The image is fab! Those reds together are gorgeous!

Thanks for the heads up on Tabs - she had first refusal and is looking more for the full set rather than drips and drabs.
