Challenge #351 - Back to School - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, this weeks Challenge is hopefully going to help you get those cards ready to give your little people in your life, I have 2 great grandsons starting back to School and Nursery this September and felt my card was ideal for them, so the theme is

Back to School

For my own Card I used this fabulous image for one of my great grandsons


This little chap is titled "In the Class" and you will find him here, I printed him onto white card and then coloured him with my copic pens, I then used a circle die to cut him out and a larger red one to mount him on.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card and the first mount is again the same red card as used before, and the backing paper is also from the same design set and the image and you will find it here.
I placed the mounted image in the center as shown in the photo and the sentiment was from my google search and this was mounted in the same way as the image and placed in the bottom right hand corner, and to finish of I have used three buttons down the edge.

Challenge #349 - Punches and Dies - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, I hope that you enjoyed our last Challenge and welcome back to our usual one which means we shall be leaving you comments again. This weeks theme is all about using
Punches and Dies

so we shall expect to see either of these used on your cards.

For my own Card I used this fabulous image for one of my many grandsons


my eldest grandson and his two little boys love motorbikes so this is just idea for them, this is "Motor Mechanic" and you will find him here, I printed him on to white card then coloured him with my copic pens, afterwards I used one of my rectangle dies to cut him out and then mounted him onto a larger rectangle out of black card.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of the same black card and the backing paper is also from the same "Motor Mechanic" design set and you will find it here. I then took a piece of orange card and a border punch and punched it all down one edge and place this on the left hand side of my main card.
On top of this I have placed my mounted image with a stamped sentiment below, which has also been mounted onto black card. To finish of I used a motorbike die to cut out the diecut and a spanner which have both been stuck along the bottom of my card.

Challenge #225 - Breast Cancer Awareness use PINK - Pink Gem Designs

Good Morning Gemsters, this is our very Special Summer Break Challenge

Breast Cancer Awareness use PINK
And its going to last a month, and we shall not be commenting on your entries, its to give the Design Team a chance to spend some quality time with their families. And the next Challenge we will hold will be on September 1st.

And to create my card I used this little lady.


This is Ballerina Chloe and you will find her here, she is a printed card which I have printed in layers then cut her out and decoupaged up as shown in the photo.
I then created a card with not only the outside paper but you also get a insert to which was like the outside mounted onto pink card.
To finish of I placed my decoupaged Chloe in the middle and in the top right hand corner I have stuck the sentiment with a pink ribbon behind it.

Summer Break Challenge - Anything Goes - The Paper Shelter

For my own card I created this one
this little lady is called "Coconut" and you will find her here. I printed onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens and cut her out with my Circular die and cut a fancy one out of orange card to mount her on.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white  card with a first mount out of the same orange card and the backing paper is also from the same design set "Coconut" and you will find it here. Then I used several Joy/Marianne dies to create the diecuts and placed them around the mounted image which has been placed in the center. The sentiment is also from my stash which was then stamped and placed onto a piece of orange and yellow card and placed in the bottom right hand corner.

Challenge #224 - Summer Time/Holidays - Pink Gem Challenges

Good Morning Gemsters, only a week away before most of the Schools start to break up for the long Summer holidays so this weeks theme for Pink Gem Challenges is

Summer Time / Holidays

and Janet has created some really fabulous images for you to use so do pay a visit to her website and see for yourself

And to create my card I used this Andy with his little friend.


For this design I have used "Andy with a Frog" and you will find him here, and I printed him onto white card before colouring him with my copic pens, afterwards I cut him out completely ready to stick him to the main card.
This was created with a 6.50"x 6.50" white card and for the first mount I have used blue card and the backing paper is also from Pink Gem Designs and you will find it here and the umbrella and fence here.
This were them laid as shown in the photo and my image was stuck towards the right in the water, to finish of I have stamped a sentiment from my stash and mounted this also onto blue card and placed two ship buttons on the water line.

Challenge #347 - Holiday Time - The Paper Shelter Challenges

So without further ado here is the card I made for this weeks theme:-

This gorgeous image is titled "I wish I was there", and you will find it here, I printed her onto white card which I then coloured her with my copic pens, afterwards I cut her out with a rectangle Nestabilitie Die and cut a larger one for the mount out of blue card.
The base card is a white 6.50"x 6.50" one with a first mount out of blue card, the backing paper is also from the same design set and you will find it here. I placed this on top of the first mount and then placed my mounted image in the center and the stamped sentiment in the bottom right hand corner. 
To finish of I have used several themed buttons down the right hand side.

Challenge #223 - Teddy Bears - Pink Gem Challenges

This weeks Challenge is all about that special friend our "Teddy Bears" and for me this is just fabulous as I love to collect them and I'm not going to let you know how many I have but all I can say is my cupboard is over flowing and I'm always careful when opening the doors.
So the theme is

Teddy Bears

and as I have 3 great grandsons my card I feel will be just right for any one of them.

And to create my card I used this little bear,


This Football Teddy and you will find him here, I printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him, afterwards I used a rectangle Nestabilitie to cut him out and a larger one our of green card to mount him with. The sentiment is one from my stash and has been stamped and mounted in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of the same green card and she the image, and then on top I have used one of the background papers also from Pink Gem Designs and you will find it here. I then placed my mounted image towards the left with my sentiment down in the bottom right hand corner, to finish of I have used embellishment down the side of the card.
I just realized that I posted the wrong card last month so I do apologize this is the right one for this month.

Challenge #345 - Going Digital - The Paper Shelter Challenges

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, well I hope you've been enjoying watching the World Cup, not thats its my sort of thing and luckily my hubby's not into it either thank goodness, though a lot of he likes to watch really isn't my sort of thing either but we manage to sort out things we do both like to watch and spend a couple of hours in the afternoon catching up with those.
Anyway this weeks theme over on The Paper Shelter is

and being that I work mainly with digital images and this is what The Paper Shelter is all about I have lots of images to choose from and I hope you enjoy seeing the one I actually chose for my card.

This little lady is called "Retro Chic" and you will find her here, I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her afterwards I used one of my Nestabilitie Dies to cut her out and a larger one out of orange card for the mount. The sentiment was stamped and created in the same way.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of orange card and the backing paper that came with the image and you will find it here. On top of this I place a circular doily and then placed my mounted image in the center with the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner.
To finish of I have used several nuvo drops around the image and in the top right and bottom left hand corners.

And here is the card I created using this theme:-


For my own card I used this image which is called "Grace" and you will find it here, I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used a Nestabilitie die to cut her out and a fancy one out of pale blue card for the mount. The sentiment is from my stash I have used a fancy one for the mount I have placed it on.
The base card is 6.50"x 6.50" white card and the first mount is also the same blue card that was used with the image, the paper is also from the same "Grace" set and you will find it here. I then placed a ribbon around the card and attached to the back of the first mount. The mounted image was then placed on top of this ribbon and the sentiment then in the bottom left hand corner.
To finish of I have used some pearl swirls down the left hand side.

Challenge #221 - Use mainly Yellow - Pink Gem Challenge

And now to reveal my own card I hope you like it
I used this image which is called "Daffodils in a Vase" and you will find it here, I printed it onto white card before using my copic pens to colour it. Afterwards I used my rectangle Nestabilitie dies to cut it out and a larger one for the mount out of yellow card, the sentiment was from my stash and I stamped it onto a smaller diecut and mounted it again on the same yellow card as the mount. 
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with another piece of the same yellow card for the first mount the papers this time are from Pink Gem Designs and are called "Licorice Cream" and I used two of the designs and laid them across the card and a Martha Stewart border punch along the edge of it and then put a piece of yellow ribbon just under this edge.

Challenge #341 - Flower Power - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, well I hope you enjoyed your Bank Holiday and are now gearing up for this weeks theme and this time its themed

and although at one time I would add flowers to my cards willy nilly these days because of the price of posting Ive had to resort to creating flat ones and I hope that the ones I have added to my own card wont cause to much of a problem on hubby's wallet when posting I don't think it should.

And now to show you the card I created I hope you like it


This little lady is titled "Daises in Paradise" and you will find her here, I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to cut her out and then cut it out with one of Sue Wilson's square dies, and used a larger one and some pink card to cut out the mount for it. The sentiment is one from my stash and was then stamped and using a smaller die from the same Sue Wilson set I then cut it out and placed it on a larger one for the mount.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of pink card the backing paper is also from "Daises in Paradise" and you will find it here, on top of this I placed my mounted image in the middle and the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner.
The Daises are actually a set of punches that I used to create 3 daises and layered them up and in the center I have used some gold glitter and then placed them around my image in the bottom right hand corner. To finish of I have used some of the same gold glitter on the actual image and on the wings and toadstools I used some glitter to make them stand out.

Challenge #220 - Three of a Kind - Pink Gem Challenges

Good Morning Gemsters, I cannot believe that its only two days to yet another Bank Holiday Monday, this time of year we do seem to have quite a number, well although we've had some beautiful weather here in the UK lately I bet you anything that because the children are off School it will change and they wont be able to get outside in the fresh air to play.
Anyway this fortnights Challenge is a

This image is "Birds in a Row" and you will find them here. I printed onto white card then paper pieced it with the same papers I used in the for the base card they are "Micro Dots" and you will find them here.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of blue card, the papers as show above are also from Pink Gem Designs and they are "Micro Dots" and I used three of the papers pink, blue and green and along the edge I have used a border punch and layered them up as show.
I then placed my mounted image towards the left and stamped a sentiment onto another piece of card and mounted it in the same way as the image and placed towards the right, and to finish of I have place three pearls down the right hand side at the top.

And now to show you the card I created I hope you like it


this image is titled "The Lady" and I felt she was ideal for this theme and you will find her here. I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used one of Sue Wilsons Oval dies to cut her out and a larger one for the mount out of pink card.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card and the first mount is out of pink card and the backing paper is also from the same set as the image and you will find it here. I placed this onto of the first mount and used a piece of lace down the left hand side and then a strip of pearls on top. 
I placed my mounted image in the middle with the sentiment which was created in the same way as the image and then placed in the bottom right hand corner. To finish of I have used some pearl swirls down the right hand side.
