Cards for Men - Challenge 7 - "The Great Outdoors"

Well as I write up this post I would say it would be lovely to be outside as the sun is out and its quite warm, hubby has gone of to Norchard (near Lydney) to play trains, they have a steam railway system there and he loves being involved and volunteers every Saturday to it. Anyway back to this fortnights Challenge and this one is for "The Great Outdoors" and we are being sponsered by Karens Doodles this time,

And they are offering 3 digi images as a prize, and this is what they say about themselves:-

And we were lucky enough to have several gorgeous images to play with, and this is the one I chose to use, its called "Man in a Hammock".

He reminds me so much of my laid back brother-in-law, its the sort of thing he would be doing in the great outdoors rather than the grass mowing. Anyway I printed the image onto white card then used my copic pens to colour it, then used Nesbilitie Labels Die No.8 to cut it out then drew around the die to create the mount for it, The sentiment was one I created on my computer and printed it out and mount it in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and the first mount is a green one and the papers I have used are from the Nitwits "At the Park" digi downloads, the first one is a blue sky with clouds on, the second is
green grass paper and the third a stripe. On top of this is the mounted image in centre with the sentiment at the bottom on the right, I then used some of the left over green card and used the grass Marianne die and stuck it along the bottom of the second mount.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit The Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the fabulous cards the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration and I do hope it will encourage you to take part in this "Great Outdoors" Challenge.

Good Morning Everyone, well would you believe it another two weeks have flown by and weve now reached our Twentythird Challenge and this ones theme is "Its nearly Christmas" and Im sure it will be a great favourite for you all especially as it only weeks till Christmas. Before I start I want to introduce you to the brand new DT members that have joined The Cards for Men team, and they are,

I do hope that you will visit their blogs and give them your support as we are thrilled at them joining us, only three of the members have taken part in this Challenge as Alan is away on holiday.
And now I want to tell you who our Sponser is for this Challenge and that is Karen Johnson of Karen's Doodles.

And here is what she says about her company:-

Karen Johnson has been drawing all of her life. She has worked on the feature film, “Ferngully The Last Rainforest” and has created animations for Disney, Fisher Price and Mattel. She has illustrated several children’s books and is currently teaching animation at a college in Wisconsin. She started Karen’s Doodles so she could share her whimsical drawings with crafters from around the world.

And she has offered 3 digi's to the winner.

We were lucky to receive several images to play with for this Challenge and I chose this one for my card, its called "Snowmen Caroling" you will find it here.
And I printed it onto white card then used my copic's and tria pens to colour it, afterwards I used Nestabilitie Labels Die No.17 to cut it out then used the die to cut around to create the mount for it out of blue card. The sentiment is one from my stash which I rather like and has been treated in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card and a first paper of three from the Dovecraft "Let it Snow" paper pad, this first paper is a white background with a large glittered snowman in the bottom left hand corner, the second and third papers have been cut in strips and I have used a Martha Stewart Border Snowflake embossing border punch along the edges and then layered up, these two papers are two shades of blue with snowflakes on.
I then positioned mounted image towards the top in the middle and the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. To finish of Ive put a snowman button in the bottom left hand corner.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope you will go and visit the Cards for Men Challenge Blog and see what the rest of our very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you will then take part in this "Its nearly Christmas" Challenge.

For my image Ive used this Karens Doodles "Grandpa Fix it" digi image and I printed him onto white card before colouring him with my copic pens, then cut him out with my rotatrim and mounted him onto a piece of blue pearlescent card, the sentiment is one that I googled and I also printed it onto white card before mounting it up in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue pearlescent card and one of two papers from Donna's Bearlymine "For the Boys" digi paper set, this first paper is an all over pattern of cogs and wheels, on top of this is the second paper thats had one of Martha Stewarts Border punches along the edges which cuts and embosses at the same time, then I put a strip of the same pearlescent card through my cuttlebug with a tool embossing folder, this was then positioned down the card.
I then stuck my image towards of the top with the sentiment at the bottom on the right, to finish of I have fixed some tool brads down the edge on the right side.
