Challenge #18 - Cards for Men - "Tag It"

Good Morning Crafters, my hasn't this year gone by so quickly now we are into September and the children are due back at School in the next two weeks, I bet they are all excited about that especially the new pupils starting at new Schools this year, I know my hubbys granddaughter is starting on the 6th so we hope she really enjoys it.
Anyway this fortnights Challenge over at Cards for Men is themed "Tag It" so we want to see a tag somewhere on your card, you could create a tag shape card or even add it as a embellishment for my card I have created a pocket for mine. But back to our sponsor and this time its Heather Dennis of Fresh Brewed Designs.

And she is offering a fabulous prize of $10 Gift Certificate to spend on her website.
And this is what she says about herself and company:-

Hi. I am Heather Dennis. I am a homeschooling mother of 2 wonderful children, the wife of 12 years to the love of my life, a Christian and the owner of Fresh Brewed Designs. I have loved to draw and create ever since I was a child. My daughter has inherited my love of art and recently inspired me to start creating again.
All the images in my shop are hand drawn. I offer a wide range of images from coffee, cute and inspirational. I also love to create custom drawn images, so if you are looking for anything in particular, please feel free to drop me an email.

And we were lucky enough to be given several images to play with and I chose this one on the Tag.

I decided to create a Shaped card, and drew the shape of the Hot Air Balloon onto card then cut around it to create the shape, on the balloon I used a paper from Sweetshoppe Digi "Time Flies" papers and this was stuck in the balloon shape. I then used some twine for the ropes and stuck then down with some clear glue, at the joints i have used dew drops to cover the knots.
I then created a pocked for the basket with some more of the paper from the same paper set, this was stuck over the basked shape at the bottom ready for the tag.
I printed the hot air balloon image onto white card then coloured it with my copic pens, afterwards I used a Go Kreate Tag die and inked around the edge to make it look like sky, I then stamped the sentiment across the bottom and fed some ribbon through the hole at the top, then placed the tag in the pocket of the hot air balloon.
Now that you've seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to the Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to want to take part "Tag It" Challenge.

Bearlymine Designs 45th Challenge - "Shaped Cards"

Good Morning All, I do hope your enjoying the drier weather, I certainly took advantage of it on Saturday and shampooed all my carpets, luckily most of them did'nt take to long to dry and they do look a lot cleaner to. You should have seen the dirt that came up out of them you don't realise how much dirt you grind into your carpets do you? Anyway back to this weeks Bearlymine Designs Challenge, and for this one we want to see "Shaped Cards" some of you do brilliantly at this, Im not so good so I rather cheated and just cut a fancy edge to mine.
Anyway before I show you my card I had better let you know who the sponsor is for this weeks Challenge and that is

Donna's papers are just gorgeous you really should go and visit her website and see for yourself, she puts such a lot of thought into her designs and they are really reasonable in this modern time. And now here is my card for this weeks challenge.
I used a large Go Create die to create the shape of my card, then used smaller ones for the mounts, the beautiful papers I have used are from Donna's "Petunia Parade" digi paper set and you will find them here. I have also used a Lili of the Valley image which I have stamped then coloured with my copic pens before cutting it out completely and positioning if on top of a Cheery Lynn Heart Die shape.
And before placing my image in the centre I wrapped a piece of binding tape around the middle and stuck it to the back of the first mount.
The sentiment is one from my stash thats been stamped onto a piece of white card then mounted on pink and positioned at the bottom on the right. Ive also used a swirl of pearls in the bottom left and top right corners, and for the final flourish I used another of the Cheery Lynn Flower dies then I layered it up and positioned in the top left hand corner and stuck it to the card with silicone glue on top of several leaves that were also cut using yet more of the Cheery Lynn dies.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit the Bearlymine Designs Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will take part in this "Shaped Cards" Challenge.

A Card for Sundays with Santa (Facebook Challenge)

Good Afternoon All, well Ive been rather lapse and blogging lately, but that doesnt mean that Ive not been working, Ive been trying to get well ahead with my DT work as I know that August is going to be a really busy month for me, not only are two of my grandsons due for a week but my eldest grandson will be getting married on the 18th so I really dont want to have extra pressures on my plate around that time.
Todays card is for this weeks "Folds" Challenge over on Facebook, this is a weekly challenge to help us collect a good amount of cards made ready for this years Christmas, if youd like to join dont hesitate to find out more. Anyway Ive used this gorgeous Sugar Nellie image and stamped onto white card then used my copic pens to colour, afterwards I used my large oval from Go Create dies and a scalloped one for the mount. I also used some glitter on her wings.
the base card is 6"x 6" white card with two folds instead of one and I have used blue card for the first mounts and a paper I found in my Sweetshoppe Digi Downloads and felt it was just right for my card, Ive also used the birch tree die from Memory Box and cut it out twice, then after I stuck it to the card I used some cosmic shimmer drys white glue on the branches to imitate snow. I then positioned my mounted image towards the middle and it just covered the side fold and Ive also done the same with the sentiment.

Lili of the Valley Challenge - "A Thank You" Card

Good Afternoon Everyone, well how about this two cards in one week I must be pushing my luck here, anyway heres a card forthis weeks LOV Challenge "Thank You" and Ive used this sweet image of a Teddy Bear with a flower and card, its one of the freebie images from one of the Craft Magazines. Ive coloured it with my promarkers and flex markers that turned up this morning, theyve certainly got nice nibs though not a lot of choice in the colours at the moment. Ive then cut it out with my rotatrim and mounted it onto a piece of green pearlescent card, the sentiment is one from my stash and this has been cut out with a small Go Kreate Tag Dies and mounted again onto a mount of the same card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and for my firstmount Ive used a bit more of the same green card and one of three papers from the Echo Park "Victoria Gardens" papers a pretty white paper with spiral flowers all over it in several different colours. I then used a green leaf paper on a white background and cut it into a 5" square then used my leaf corner and border punches from Martha Stewart, the last mount is a strip of yellow paper on top of a another piece of the same green card.
The mounted image was then positioned in the middle with the tag which has a piece of green seam binding popped through the hole and then stuck to the right hand side of the image. To finish of I created a flower with the new Die Namics flower and this was stuck to the card on top of some punched out green leaves in the top right hand corner.

A Card for LOV Challenge - "Roses"

Good Afternoon All, Im so sorry that Ive not been around for a week but life has been very busy here at Chalmers towers, Ive been busy not only with my DT work but also helping hubby remove ivy from our two Lilac trees, clever me thought it would be nice to see the varigated ivy growing through the tree but it wasnt as it choked it and made it very sparse in the centre, anyway with lots of climbing he eventually managed to clear them both yesterday, mind you our green wheely bin is full to the brim with the rubbish.
Anyway todays card has been created for this weeks LOV challenge and Ive used one of those freebies from one of the craft magazine and Ive coloured it with my copic and tria pens before cutting it out with my Nestabilitie Label 1 then used the die to create a faux mount by drawing around the edge of it and cutting it out with scissors.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of a greeny blue card and one of three papers from the Kay Miller Digi Downloads, the first paper is a light green spot paper and then on top I have cut a 5" square and used one of the all around heart border punches on it from Martha Stewart, and for the third mount Ive used yet another piece of the same card and punched along one edge with the same border punch and put my last slip of paper by the side of it.
I then wrapped a green gauzy ribbon around the card and placed my mounted image in the centre, the sentiment is one of the LOV images and this has been mounted on a tag with yet a bit more of the ribbon threaded through the hole and this was then stuck at the bottom on the right hand side. I then created a rose spray in the top left hand corner with several different sizes of roses stuck to the card with silicone glue and on top of some punched out rose leaves. The final thing is the few pearl gems stuck at the top and bottom in the opposite corners to the roses and sentiment.

And here is the Card I created for this Challenges,
Dont you just love this little character hes having so much fun with his teddy bear, Ive printed him onto white card before colouring him with my copic and tria pens, after which I used Nestabilitie Die No.1 to cut him out and then used the die to create the mount of some dark blue card, the sentiment is one I created on the computer and this was then printed and cut out with one of the Go Kreate tag dies, and I even created a mount out of some blue card for this also, then tied some garden string through the hole.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card and one of two papers from the "Giddy Up" digi download from Nitwits, the first paper is a design of a cowboy shirt, and on top I have put a strip of one of the sentiment papers, then mounted my image towards the left with the sentiment tag just tucked in at the end on the right. To finish of I have popped some charms I found that went with the theme down the right handside, and the last little touch is the swirl of rope which I create with some more of the garden string.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope you will pop over to The Cards for Men Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of my fellow team members have created for your inspiration, I do hope you will be taking part in this challenge, and Im looking forward to seeing exactly what youve done.

A Card for Mo's Challenge - "Tags, tags and more tags"

Good Afternoon All, I do apologise for not posting before but you know what its like you get otherwise engaged and the days go quickly by and you dont realise that youve still not made a card. Anyways as its pouring of rain and Im on my own hubbys gone volunteering Ive actually managed to create two cards and one tag, and I thought perhaps you might like to see the tag today and one of the cards tomorrow. Ive used this little lad titled "Oxford" and as two of my grandsons are of to secondary School this September I thought it might be useful to send them to them to wish them good luck when the time comes. Anyway Ive printed him onto white card then coloured him with my copic and tria pens then used the Go Kreate Label die to cut it out.
Ive then used a dark blue card and again used the die to create a mount for it, I did have to trim around the image to mount it onto the blue card, I then also cut another in white card and then stamped a sentiment on it, and threaded through some ribbon through the tag holes at the top.

A Card for the Teddy Bo - "Shaped Card"

Good Morning Everyone, hope that you are enjoying the warmer weather, the sun is out but its still a bit cloudy here in Gloucestershire, but Im keeping my fingers crossed that my washing will dry and smell nice. Hubby has just left for four days to visit his daughters, granddaughters and stepson, so Im sure he will be busy driving from one to another and enjoying the time spent with them all. And I shall be busy getting my scheduling done ready for next week, its another 3 challenge blogs week so need a bit of time to myself to sort it all out. Anyway todays card has been created for this weeks Teddy Bo "Shaped Card" Challenge, and I love these characters they are so cute and so life like in their antics, as you know Im a Teddy mad collector and have quite a lot of special collector ones so these are just right for me, and the fact that a very dear friend of mine in Guernsey has just had a baby boy and Im so thrilled for her, shes waited along time for this though wether shes feeling very fit at the moment is another story, we all know what a first baby is like to live with I think tiredness is the biggest problem.
Anyway Ive printed this cute image onto with card then used my copics and tira pens to colour it, then used my Go Create #5 Frilly Square to cut it out, and then used a large die to create a shaped card, I then put a mount of blue pearlescent card with one of the Nana's Kitchen Baby Boy papers and wrapped a blue seam binding ribbon around the middle and attached it to the back of this mount.
I then positioned my mounted image in the middle, then created a triple bow with some more seam binding ribbon and popped a Whimsey Ticket behind in when sticking it to my card.
Well I want to wish you all a fabulous weekend if the weather forcast is anything to go by it should be hot.
