A Card for Many Challenges

Good Afternoon All, the sun is out and it looks gorgeous outside, not sure how warm it is but the sun cheers you all doesnt it? Todays card has been created yet again for several Challenges but I started it for the Lili of the Valley's "Sketch" then I found several other challenges as well, so will post them at the bottom.
Ive used this sweet pair sitting on their swing together as a Anniversary Card for a dear friend of mine, just hope she doesnt see it, keep your fingers crossed.
The image was stamped onto white card and coloured with my copic pens, and I used the large mega Nestabilitie to cut it out, then used the die itself to draw around on some pink card then cut it out with my scissors. The sentiment is yet another of the LOV stamps and this was stamped and cut out with Nestabilitie Label Die No.8 and then I draw around this in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of dark pink pearlescent card, with one of two papers from Donna's brand new digi set of papers "Spring Delights" they are stunning and you will find them in the Bearlymine Webshop here ,
the paper has a rainbow of pink and yellow with bunches of flowers on, the second paper has been shaped as the sketch asks and this is a yellow base with again large pink flowers on. I then stuck some pretty lace along the edge before sticking it to my base layer. I then wrapped a dark pink ribbon around the card and attached it to the back of the first mount.
The stamped image was positioned to the right with the sentiment underneath. I then arranged several sized roses from Wild Orchid Crafts along the edge of the lace on some punched out rose leaves, these were attached to the card with silicone glue.

A Card for Several Challenges

Good Afternoon All, Im so sorry Ive not posted since Thursday but yesterday was extremly busy, I had several cards to create for my DT work and I wanted to try and get myself sorted out, I also had the washing to deal with to. Anyway enough excuses I have tried to rectify it today by making this card for several challenges and they are as follows Just Magnolia's "Anything Goes", Totally Papercrafts "Pearls and Lace", Simon Says Stamps "No Cook Receipe", ABC's "P for Pink", Stamp Something "Anything Digi", and KB Cute Monday "Anything Digi".
Ive used this gorgeous little H&S image and have stamped her onto white card before colouring her with my copic pens, I then used the new Nestabilie Die "Floral Doily" to cut her out, I also used it again to create her mount. The sentiment is one from my stash that Ive stamped and cut out with my rotatrim and mounted it also onto a piece of the same card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of a teal coloured card with one of two digi papers from Donna's Bearlymine Digi Papers, the first one is a pretty teal blue paper with a swirl in it, the second is a pink paper with teal and white spots on it, Ive cut this into a 5" square and used one of my all around punches from Martha Stewart, this was then placed in the centre of my first paper, and then across this middle I have wrapped a piece of lace and on the top a piece of seam binding along the top.
On top of this I have put my mounted image and the sentiment at the bottom on the right, I then used my a Basic Grey mask and created a couple of swirls with green pearls in the bottom on the left hand corner.
I then created a double bow with the same colour seam binding and stuck it at the side of my mounted image with a butterfly on top. To finish of I created a flower with some of the same teal coloured card and used my Doo Hickey Hydrangea dies to cut it out, layered it up and popped a little rose in the middle, this was then stuck to the card at the top on the left on top of some punched out fern leaves.

A Card for Mo's Challenge - "Oh Baby"

Its been awhile since I took part in any of the Mo's Challenges and I thought it was time I should rectify this and Ive chosen this sweet image of a baby girl to make a card with. The image is available in Mo Webshop here and Ive printed it onto white card then used my copic pens to colour it, afterwards I used Label No.1 from Spellbinders to cut it out, I then used it again for the mount with some pink pearlescent card. The sentiment is one I found by googling "New Baby Sayings" and printed it and mounted this also onto a piece of pink card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink card and Ive used two papers from Nitwit Downloads, this set is called "Tickled Pink" set, and the first paper is a white background with little bottles, bibs and babygro's on, the second paper is a pink one with lots of flowers on, I cut a strip of it and used one of my Martha Stewart Border Punches on both of the edges, on top of this is a piece of the same pink card I used for my mounts thats been put through the cuttlebug with a baby embossing folder.
On top of this I have wrapped a wide pink satin ribbon around the card and attached it to the back of the first mount, on top of this I have put my mounted image, which I have twisted them to create a different look, at the bottom on the right is the sentiment.
To finish of I created a flower spray at the top on the left with five different size roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, and some punched out leaves, these were attached to the card with silicone glue, I then popped some stickles on the petals just to give them a bit of glitter.

The Third Paper Shelter Challenge - "Scrap It"

Good Morning Ladies, it doesnt seem possible that we have already reached our third challenge here at The Paper Shelter, I do hope that this one will receive some more entrants as the last one "Seeing Red" didnt go down as well as we expected, maybe it was because we had enough of red because of Valentines Day. But this time should be a breeze for you as it involves using up all those scraps that you have in your goody bag.
Firstly left me give you the rules for entering this Challenge, you dont have to use one of the The Paper Shelter images but if you wish to be entered in the prize draw you do, they are very inexpensive and if you click on their website The Paper Shelter here you will be surprised at just how much they are. Heres the prize if you do a fabulous $15 voucher for you to buy any images of your own choice.
Anyway heres my card for this Challenge and the image I have chosen to use is called "Steam Punk Girl" and she was a dream to colour.
I printed her onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens then cut her out with my rotatrim and did the same with the mount. The sentiment is one of the C&C stamps and this given the same treatment as the image.
The base card is 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of lilac pearlescent card, and one of three paper off cuts I found in my stash, the first one is one of Donna's Bearlymine Digi papers called "Spring Flight" (Donna has a special Spring Sale at the moment on some fabulous new papers) the second and third papers are from the Kay Miller Downloads "Wings" they are all mounted on pieces on lilac card and arranged on the base card. I then wrapped some sissal ribbon around the middle with a sparkly ribbon mounted on top, and a knot tied at the edge.
The mounted image was then stuck on top towards the left and the sentiment at the bottom on the right. To finish of Ive used some of the same left over papers to create paper flowers with my Retro punches, and these were stuck at the top on the right with some punched out oak leaves on silicone glue.
I do so hope you will now pop over to The Paper Shelter Blogspot and see the rest of my fellow team members stunning work and please do try and take part in our Challenges as it would be such a shame if after all the hard work that Donna and Cheryl have put into starting this Challenge Blogspot it was to fail.

Cards for Men - Challenge 5 - "Water"

Oh my here we are at Challenge 5 already, dont you think these weeks are flying by, the evening are getting lighter and hopefully it will get a bit warmer soon. Weve had phone calls from New Zealand where my BIL lives in Christchurch to say that the town is absolutely desolated, and hes moved out to his bash, (its a summer house he uses away from the city) luckily he was in Wellington when the earthquake hit, and so he did let us know that, while eating a meal with his children in a Turkish restaurant up there. But how horrible not sure how we in the UK would cope with such an awful situation.
Anyway todays Challenge has been set by my fellow Design Team Member Patricia of "Rubberstamping is my game" please do pop over to see her fabulous blog and stunning work, she has chosen for this particular Challenge "Water" and this is the theme for the fortnight. We are being sponsered by Claire of "Hope Jacare" and Im sure youve seen her gorgeous scrummy digi images.
And she has offered us 3 of her digi images as a prize, I do think you will be thrilled with whatever choice you decide if you are the winner, anyway this is what Claire says about her company:-

And this is the digi that I chose for my DT card, its called "Haco the Viking" and you know me I have to go for the one with the most to colour, hope you like it.
Ive printed him onto white card then coloured the image with my copic pens, afterwards he was cut out with my Nestabilitie Label No.8 then I drew around the die to create a faux mount. The sentiment is a Scrabble stamp from "Cats Life" which I purchased from CraftyEmmas store, this was also mounted in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of dark blue card and one of three papers from Kay Miller downloads, the first paper a water scene, on top is a strip of green spotted paper and then  red check on top of this, Ive used a Martha Steward border punch along both the edges to try and create a wave look.
The mounted image was then positioned in the middle and the sentiment below on the right.  To finish of I have put a lighthouse button in the bottom left hand corner.
I do so hope you will now go and visit our Cards for Men Blogspot and see the rest of my fellow Design Team members cards and hopefully this will inspire you to create cards with a water theme.

An Anniversary Card

Good Evening All, Im so sorry to be so late today I have been busy again, and have actually managed to make two cards but can only show you one as the other is for a future DT Challenge, thats the problem when you have three challenges to keep up with you have to do your DT work in advance and try to be ready for them to be posted when the time is right, but Im getting there and I think Ive now managed to be a few weeks ahead or at least I hope so.
Anyway todays card has been created for a very dear couple, friends of mine and I dont think they will be peeking but you never know so I wont be giving any names in case they do. The image is one that was given to me, and I think it might be one of the Stampendous ones, (Ive just discovered they are by Stampin Up but have been retired), I love the dreamy look of the pair and thought it was ideal for a Anniversary card I hope you think so to. Anyway Ive coloured it with my copic pens and cut it out with my Nestabilitie Label Die No.17 and then drew around the die and cut it out by hand. The sentiment is one from my stash, one of the clear stamps and mounted on a piece of card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount in yellow pearlescent card and one of three papers from the Papermania "Rose Garden" papers the first one is a gorgeous pale green and cream, the second is a pink one and the third green paper and the fourth a cream one with a rose pattern on, the edges are punched with the new Woodware Crafty Edger system and a very pretty heart scallop edge. Ive wrapped a pale lemon satin ribbon around the edge on the right hand side.
I then positioned my mounted image in the middle and the sentiment at the bottom on the right. To finish of Ive created a rose spray and some punched out rose leaves arranged in the top left hand corner and stuck on with some silicone glue. I did pop some stickles on the petals.

How to create extra pages at the top of your Blog

Good Morning all, I do have a card to post but decided that today I might share with you something I discovered how to do yesterday. As you can see at the top of my blog under my heading I have now got several extra pages and if youd like to know how to do it on your own blog I will guide you through the proceedure.

1. Go into your design page and under your heading click on "Add a Gadget" then scroll down the list till you come to a heading  "Pages" its about 3 boxes down, click on this and it will show you that you can now add a bar to add your extra pages to, this will only show as "Home" to start of with, and the next step will give you the extra pages you want. Click Save and then go and look at your blog to make sure its there.

Once this is done the next step is relatively easy, go to "Dashboard" click on "Edit Posts" and it will give you a list of all your posts, at the top of the bar you will see under the main tabs, "New Post", "Edit Post" and "Edit Pages" and this is the one you want to click on, this is the one thats going to create your pages.

2. Click on "New Page" and it will bring up what looks like a post page (which it is) and if you then put your "Heading in the Title Page" and click on save, it will give you the next tab after the "Home" page, you can then repeat this proceedure as and when you want to add extra pages to your tab bar. Hope you find this helpful you can add upto 10 pages along this bar.

Ive done it so that I can tidy up my blog as I had it going on forever with bits and pieces, and Awards, I do hope you enjoy finding out you can do it, its relatively easy to do. I have now put it in my tutorial page at the top.

Ive been asked this evening how you use these pages, you treat it like a continuous post, you start by clicking on the tab and then you will find a pen on the left hand side, click on this and it will take you to edit the post you then add what you want as you would a normal post, then click on save and it will then show it on that page like a normal post. You carnt drag anything that youve all ready got on your blog but you can copy and paste things in the normal way as you would a normal post. Its just one continuous post. Hope this helps.

The Sweet Award and Stylish Award

On Friday I was award the following Award from one of the nicest and sweetest blogger I know, I think you may well be aware of that yourself and are one of her loyal followers and that is Dorcas of Dorcas Designs Ive only known her for a short time but Ive got to admit she is a really lovely person and it couldnt have been given to anyone more worthy of it, so I was a bit surprised when she passed it onto me.
Now Ive got the most unenvyable tasks to do and that is to name three sweetest things that have happened to me, and to pass this onto three more worthy people, and this is the most difficult as Ive met some really lovely bloggers out there and I just wish it were possible to pass it onto all of you, so please forgive me for not being able to.
1. The latest sweet thing that happened to me was my very dear hubby bought me a gorgeous bouquet of red roses for Valentines Day, Ive got to say that I was a bit scared as they dont always survive and often the heads drop but I was lucky this time, I cut the ends of by 2 inches and then stuck them into the water that has the sachet in it that they give you, and they are gorgeous they are coming out and looking good even a week later.
2. The second sweetest thing is this award from Dorcas, as I said Ive only known her for a short time but she has given me lots of support recently when I was going through a difficult time, and I do appreciate that. She wasnt the only one, as I had three other people who also were there for me, they know who they are, and without their support I wouldnt have felt able to carry on with my cardmaking and blogging.
3. The only other thing I can think of is that the sweetest person in my life is my very dear husband Ian, Ive only been married to him for 10 wonderful years but this month is the one that is not only my grandson Daniels 11th Birthday but also its a 11 years since we got together and promised to get married, in other words I proposed to him on February 29th, (it was a leap year) so its our Anniversary as well.

Now is the difficult task of passing this on, and the following people are the ones Id like to give it to:-
I do so hope that you will accept this ward and wear it with pride, as I think you are the sweetest people I know, thats not saying that I dont think the rest of you are to.

I also have another Award to pass on and this is the "Stylish Blogger Award"
And this was given to me by Anne of Stamps and Paper,  and Kevin of Mccraftys-cards and bless them Ive only known them for a short time and I want to thank them both for this. Ive also got to apologise to Lyn, Heidi and Laura for not passing this on, Im afraid Im a bit naughty or should I say Pants at passing them on as I hate not passing them onto more than Im allowed, so please forgive me yet again for not being able to do so this time.
As you can expect to receive this award youve got several rules and these are as follows:-

Step 1 - Make a post linking back to the person who gave you the award!
Step 2 - Share 7 random things about yourself
Step 3 – Award 7 recently discovered bloggers with this award
Step 4 – Contact these bloggers and tell them they’ve won the award

7 random things about me...
1. I hate having to pass these Awards on as its difficult to give it to no more than the Award Allows.
2. I am terrible about doing housework and my hubby and I now share it, but he does the Monday morning hoovering.
3. I have to admit I spend more than I should on Craft things, especially since we are now Pensioners its a dangerous situation and I really must try and stop it.
4. My favourite colour is Mauve, it was also my Mums favourite to.
5. I absolutely hate using the Phone, so I try not to use it very often only when its absolutely necessary.
6. I also dont like to drive even though Ive never had a accident, I just dont feel I need to, so poor hubby has to do it all, I know maybe one day I might have to but I dont really enjoy it.
7. I also dont like dressing up Im more than happy to stay in my sloppy joes all day, they are comfortable and I hate being trussed up like a chicken.

Now my list of bloggers Id like to pass this onto, and they are:-
I do hope girls you accept this award and enjoy it.
Now Ive finished this long post I hope you will forgive me for not posting any cards today.

A Brand New Cd from Peerless Designs

You might be wondering where Ive been lately well then I can tell you some of the things Ive been upto, for the last week Ive been trying to catch up with my DT work so that I could start making Samples for my dear friend Sarah Hallam of Peerless Designs as she has a brand new CD coming out soon, there is to be a preview program on Create and Craft on the 8th March, not sure of the time yet but I will let you know as soon as Ive been told.
Anyway this is the new CD and its something totally different for Sarah, its an easy one to use and you can create complete cards, there are card blanks, design sets, tags and ribbons, backing papers, card templates and Scrapbook Pages, and now I want to introduce you to "Peo and Patsy."
They are a cute pair of Panda's and the images start from Babyhood to all stages of their life, even taking in Marriage and the circle starts again, heres my first sample
and Ive used a card blank and the decoupage papers to create a A5 card. The decoupage was printed onto semi gloss paper and the card blank and the insert onto card 200gsm and paper 150gsm and then folded in half and Ive then cut out and decoupaged up the bear and the balloons. Then printed the insert below.
As you can see the insert compliments the front of the card, and the colouring is fabulous, such a lovely card to pass onto anyone.
I will be posting more cards as the days go by, so if Im not around you will know why. Also Mandy I could certainly do with your husband cooking for us today but as hes busy doing yours its a pity but hopefully I can take you up on it another time.

I have really enjoyed playing with their images and this is my DT card for this first Challenge which must incorporate "Buttons and Bows"
I have used this cute image of a "Tooth Fairy" and printed it onto white card and coloured it with my copic pens, after which I cut it out with my Nestabilitie Labels Die No.1 then drew around the die to create the faux mount for it. The sentiment is one I found on the internet and then printed it and mounted in the same way as my image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of green pearlescent card and one of Donna's Bearlymine Designs "Spring Blossoms" and on top of this is one of her plaid ones Ive used one of my all around Martha Stewart punches on this and placed it on top of the base layer, across the middle I have wrapped seam binding in green and attached it to the back of the first mount, then created a bow with some of the same colour seam binding and then have sewn a button to the middle.
I then positioned my mounted image to the left and tucked the sentiment in the top right hand corner. I do so hope you will pop over to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog and see what stunning cards the rest of our very talented team have created for this very first Challenge.
This card is to be entered in the following Challenges:-

Now arnt these fabulous prizes and Im sure you wont be able to resist taking part in the Challenge, its not fair we arnt allowed to do so, you lucky people.
Anyway heres my card for this Challenge:-
Well as you can see Ive used Uptown Angel from Kenny's Digi Downloads, Ive printed her onto white card and coloured her with my copic pens then cut her out with my oval Nestabilitie die, and used the scalloped one for the mount, the sentiment is yet again one of the LOV circle stamps, and this has been cut with a circle die and mounted onto a scalloped one as well.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue pearlescent card and one of three papers from Donna's January and February Freebie downloads, you will find these on the same site as Donna's shop, then Ive stuck the first one onto the first mount and then put a strip of a diamond pattern on top, the third mount is another of the flower ones which was placed to the left, across the middle I have wrapped some seam binding and then created a bow with the same colour ribbon which was stuck to the right hand side, with a swirl of pearls going underneath it.
My mounted image was then positioned to the left hand side and my sentiment at the bottom on the right, I also cut out two corners with my Marianne dies which were also stuck on the left hand side top and bottom. The last thing to finish of is the flowers that Ive stuck at the top on the left around my mounted image.
Now please pop across to Bearly Mine Challenge blogspot to see the rest of my very talent team members and it should encourage you to take part in this fortnights Challenge.
Please dont forget to come back tomorrow as we are launching our brand new Challenge blogpost "The Paper Shelter" and Im sure you will want to see what weve got in store for you.

And heres my Design Team card for this challenge
This time Ive used one of Phindy's images and printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him, afterwards I used Nestabilitie label die No.1 to cut it out and then drew around the die to create the mount. The sentiment is one of the LOV circle stamps thats been stamped and cut out with a circle die.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of green pearlescent card and one of three papers from the new Papermania "Woodland Babies" papers, the first a white base with lots of cute woodland images on, the second which Ive punched with my leaf all around punches from Marthat Stewart has been placed in the middle and the last paper another white based paper with trees and kites on, has been stuck in the top left hand corner.
I then arranged my mounted image in the middle and the sentiment at the bottom on the right, to finish of Ive stuck a kite and plane button at the top on the left hand side. I do so hope now that you will pop across to Cards for Men Blogspot  and see my fellow team members fabulous cards and Im sure they will inspire you to take part in this challenge

"Sundays with Santa" - Easel Card

Good Morning Ladies, well its not really here in Gloucestershire its absolutely throwing it down, hubby did say yesterday we were in for some heavy rain and he wasnt wrong as its been raining since about 12 oclock last night its such a shame as yesterday was gorgeous and mild, but there you are the English weather has us all beat and will do its own thing.
Anyway todays card has been created for Pops "Sunday's with Santa" challenge and this week it was my turn to decide what the theme was and I chose Easel card. I was intriqued by Lorraine's double easel card she created this week and wanted to know if I could make one to, and guess what its easier than you think instead of folding the front piece across the middle you fold it corner to corner and bobs your uncle, the only thing youve got to remember is when you fold it back down flat you dont force it as has to turn to lay flat again the other piece.
Anyway Ive used this image of Edwin on his sledge and coloured it again with my copic pens, after which I cut him out with my rotatrim, the mount is white pearlescent card, the sentiment is one of the whimsey seal ones thats been stamped and cut out with a circle die then mounted on a scalloped one.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with two first mounts of white pearlescent card and one of two papers from the Nitwit Downloads, the first a white paper with coloured snowflakes on, and the second a red strip with a similar snowflake design, across the middle Ive wrapped a red and holly ribbon around and attached it to the back of the first mount, Ive then stuck both these base layers to my card base, and my mounted image in the centre of the top one and the sentiment in the middle of the base one.
I do hope that if youd like to start making a stash of Christmas cards ready for this year its a good idea to join out present team of girls even if you only come a couple of times a month youd soon start to have a pile of them by December. I should also say theres no prize so you not in competition with any one its just a bit of fun.

A Card for Just Magnolia Challenge - "Mina's Sketch"

Good Afternoon Ladies, Ive got to admit Ive been rather busy lately with my DT work that Ive got a big behind with some of my challenges, but I thought Id have a go at this weeks Just Magnolia's one "Mina's Sketch" and Ive used this new stamp I received yesterday morning from H&S isnt she a poppet, the hair on the two girls is gorgeous wish mine was like that but oh well what can you expect when you get older. Anyway Ive stamped her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used my oval Nestabilitie die to cut her out and a scalloped one for the mount. The sentiment is one of the LOV circle stamps Ive also mounted this onto pink scalloped one to.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink pearlescent card and one of Donna's brand new digi papers this is from the "Spring Flight" (scroll down to the last post to see the new sets) set a very pretty pink base with dragonflies on it, on top of this I have layered up two more of the Bearlymine papers a gingham one and a spot one, each is white spots and squares with a pink background, these were layered up as asked by the sketch. Across the card at the bottom Ive wrapped two piece of lace and a ribbon was then placed on top, the mounted image was positioned  in the middle and the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
To finish of Ive stuck several roses around the sentiment and the mounted image, the top ones arnt quite to the sketch but it looked a bit bare there so popped them their to.
