Challenge #147 - "Animal Magic" - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Crafters, well its almost March and so far weve seen so much rain Im beginning to wonder if we will ever had decent weather again, my bulbs are beginning to show and even some buds so at least I should be getting some colour soon. Anyway we have another Challenge over on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and this one is themed "Animal Magic" and we want to see what you can create with animals as your main image, so Im so looking forward to seeing what the entries will be like.
Anyway Im getting ahead of myself and you will want to know what fabulous prize Veronica and Pedro are offering and that is $30.

http://www.thepapershelter.com/

But this is only if you have used one of their products on your card, this could be a image, paper or printable and they do have some on special offer as well, so its well worth a visit to their website here The Paper Shelter. But even if you havent they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice so you really cant loose with this Challenge can you?
And now I want to show you what Ive created for this Challenge and here he is:-

Hes called Henry in my world but the actual image is titled "How are You Doin" and you will find him here, though to be absolutely honest hed be a good advert for "Should have gone to Specs Savers" as he seems bit short sighted fancy thinking the cactus was a friend, oh well never mind. Ive printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him afterward I used Embossing Folder to print the edge around him then cut it out with scissors to create the scalloped edge. This was then placed on a green Oval Nestabilitie Die background. The sentiment is one from my stash thats been also mounted on the same green card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of green card and the papers are from the Pollyanna Pickering CD from Cupcake Crafting and I have used two of them, one has a hedgehog print on it and the second has a smaller on on and I have used a border punch on this, then on top is another mount of green with a check pattern on which has been placed down the card.
I then used a Memory Box die to create the two dark green trellis's and these were stuck across the top and bottom, then the mounted image was placed in the center with the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the A Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will want to take part in this "Animal Magic" theme Challenge.
And do please come back on Saturday as I have some very exciting news for you and look forward to letting you into the secret.

You will find some fabulous images, papers and printables here on their website The Paper Shelter.
For my card I used this gorgeous image

She is titled "Attitude means Everything" and you will find her here,  I have printed her onto white card then used my Tonic Square die to cut her out and a scalloped one for the mount. I used some snow writer foam on her collar and cuffs also on her ear muffs to. The sentiment is one from my stash thats been stamped onto white card and then cut out by a circle die and mounted on a punched out Snowflake.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white with a first mount of blue card and the paper is from the Sweetshoppe Designs its a blue background with snow on it and clouds. On top of this I have placed a diecut Fir tree which was cut with Marianne Die, and a used a Memory box border die of trees along the bottom.
I then placed my mounted image in the center and before adding the extra's I took a piece of white pearlescent card in a 7"x 7" size and used another of the Martha Stewart large Border and Corner dies to create the background which was then placed behind the first mount making the card larger.
To finish of I have cut out the ski's and sticks with a Marianne Die and placed to the right of the main image, the final flourish is the two layered snowflake at the top on the right and the sentiment on the left.

The sentiment is one from my stash and this has been also stamped onto white card and then layered up onto another of the same Pearl effect mount.

Aurora Wings Ballet Dancer

Good Morning Crafters, well its stopped raining for a couple of hours but we have been promised some more this afternoon, and I see its been flooding down on the Severn this morning and its cut of Gloucester for those living near it. Anyway I printed this image about a week ago and I just couldnt decide what colour to do her, as shes from Swan Lake, and of course they are all white so thats what I plumbed for. I have coloured the roses on her headress and down around her dress and then cut her out with my Grand Oval Die from Nestabilities and used a fancy one for the mount. The sentiment is one I googled and then cut it out with a fancy tag die.
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card with a first mount of white pearlescent card thats been put through my embossing folder and then I have used a fancy doily towards the top and die cut a swan with one of the Tattered Lace dies and placed them at the bottom on the left.
Around the middle I have wrapped a piece of crinkled white ribbon and attached it to the back of the first mount and then placed my mounted image towards the right. The sentiment was placed at the bottom below the image. And to finish of I have used several pink roses and some punched out rose leaves to create a floral spray in the top left hand corner.

Good Morning fellow Crafters, well Ive been caught out this morning I made sure that the Challenge Post was written up but totally forgot to write up my own blog, what a daft person, Ive been worrying all night about the inlinz thing and it worked perfectly this morning and I went to look on my own blog and my own post was missing I cant believe I forgot to write it up and schedule it as I normally do. Anyway it wont do to carry on I must write up my post so here we go, this week over on The Paper Shelter its all about "Wrapping Up" originally when I picked this theme it was supposed to be about wrapping up against the cold but a lot of the team saw it as something else and have gone with it so I will leave the interpretation up to you.
Anyway as always our very generous sponsors are The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30.

http://www.thepapershelter.com/

And this comes with the usual stipulation that you must have used one of their products on your card and this could be a image, paper or printable and even if you dont they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice if you are chosen by random org, but I do urge you to pay a visit to their website The Paper Shelter and see for yourself what brilliant value they are especially against the pound.
And now for my own card

For my image I used "The Beautiful Skier" and you will find it here, and I have printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her then I cut her out completely. The sentiment is one from my stash and this was placed onto a diecut snowflake.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of white pearlescent card and on top of this I have used one of the Bearlymine digi papers this a snowflake design on a blue background. Then I used more of the pearlescent card and die cut two landscape backgrounds and then placed them at the back of the card towards the top, then I placed my cut out image on the left handside and then I cut the ski's and poles (not sure of the official name for them never having skied) and placed the two ski's against the left handside and the poles are stuck in the snow with the sentiment towards the right handside. To finish of I have punched out a snowflake and placed it in the ski.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you will want to take part in this "All Wrapped Up" Challenge.

Another Aurora Wings Card

Good morning Crafters, I know its amazing for me to actually manage more than one post in a week but I thought you might like to see what I have been playing with this week its another of the beautiful Aurora Wings Images and this one is "Calla Lily" and although to me they are something I tie with funerals Im hoping that this image will hopefully make your think otherwise.
I have printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used a Nestabilitie rectangle die to cut her out and a larger one for the mount out of green card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of green card and the papers I have used are from Joanna Sheens "Victorian Garden" and I have used two for this image both with Calla Lilies on, the first a white background with a spotted array of them and the second is a more denser one and this was also mounted onto green card. Then it the top left hand corner I have placed a small doily.
I then wrapped two ribbons around the card and attached it to the back of the first mount, then placed my mounted image towards the right of the card, and to finish of I have used a bunch of mulberry Calla Lilies and placed them on the left of my image and a large triple bow on top.

My favourite Colours

Good Morning Crafters, well for a change I have created a card with my most favourite colours, like my mum and my daughter we all love purple/lilac/mauve and the image I have used is from Aurora Wings and I printed her onto white card and I have used my colic pens to colour her then used the large Nestabilitie Oval die to cut her out, I then used a fancy one for the mount out of purple card.
The base card is a 8"x 8" white card with a first mount of the same purple card and the backing papers from Sweetshoppe designs and this one is called "Lavender fields" which I thought was just ideal for this image and I have used three of the paper designs and mounted them as shown, on top I have used some of the purple spiders web and then across the bottom I have used a strip of lavender organza ribbon and attached it to the back of the first mount.
I then positioned my mounted image towards the right and then arranged two roses and two sprays in opposite corners around the mounted image. The final flourish are the lavender purples again put in the opposite corners.

The Paper Shelter's Birthday Blog Hop and Challenge - "Special Birthday"

Oh my its been a busy few days for me and Id completely forgotten that this week I am hosting our very special Birthday Blog Hop and Challenge, and yesterday I was eating my breakfast and I thought oh its the 4th of December tomorrow and I have not got anything prepared, Oh well they say that as you get older the brain cells start to die, I think mine have gone of a bit earlier and left me in a terrible muddle, but here we go and I do hope you enjoy the Blog Hop and Challenge.
Good Morning fellow crafters and welcome to The Paper Shelter Blog Hop and Challenge and this is in celebration of their reaching their 3rd Birthday on December 8th. It will be a two week Challenge and both Design Teams are taking part.

The Hop is our way of inviting you to join in with us and this one is a  "Special Birthday theme, which I know is extremely popular!!!! If you have landed here from The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot then you're heading in the right direction - if not then you'll want to head on back to start again, as you'll not want to miss out on this one! Our Design Team have worked very hard and are showcasing the gorgeous images available from The Paper Shelter Website and each blog on the hop is offering one lucky commenter a digi of their choice as well as the main prize for the Challenge, details of which are on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot.

For my card I have used this gorgeous image and background you will find them both here and I know Ive rather cheated as I have printed this image several time them cut them out and decoupaged them up, but it really makes a statement and I thought it would be fabulous for the girl who loves to ride motorbikes. I have also used the backing paper that came with the image and you will also find it here with the image.
From here you will need to hop on over to Angela.  Don't forget to leave your comment for a chance of winning your choice of one of the fab digi's available in store.
Hop! Hop! Hop!

Good luck and hope you're enjoying it so far I do hope if the girls have inspired you, you will also take part in our "Special Birthday" Challenge as well.

A Card for Sundays with Santa Facebook Challenge

Good Morning Crafters, well its been a wonderful week, firstly I had my birthday on Tuesday and Ive got to thank all those lovely people who sent me cards and those who did a bit more, like leave messages on Facebook for me and for the pressies to. Thank you so much you very dear friends.
Anyway todays card is for this weeks "Anything Goes" Challenge over on Facebook, the challenge is for Sundays with Santa, there are only a few of us who are still posting cards every week but I like to do so to improve my stock for the sending out on Christmas as I really dont want to have rush at the last minute. This image is from Joanna Sheens "Holypond Christmas Card" Cd and I have used this image and the papers to.
I have layered it up onto red card the papers and the image, then across the middle I have wrapped a very pretty ribbon and stuck in to the back of the first mount. I have put the mounted image towards the left hand side and the sentiment on the right towards the top.

Challenge #139 - "Shopping Spree" - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Crafters, well yet its another week passed and we have a brand new Challenge over on The Paper Shelter its themed "Shopping Spree" and its caused quite a few problems with the Team to find appropriate images for it and you will find the rest of the girls have been very inventive with theirs. But before I show you what Ive created I have some fabulous news for you, we have two new members joining the A Team and that is Angela who has taken the place of Janie who unfortunately had to stand down last week as she has some family problems she wants to spend time over, and we were lucky to have Angela already on the Team as she wasnt officially suppose to start until January and will now start straight away, and now we have yet another new Team member to and that is Anne and she will be taking Louise's place come January but as Judith is unable to join us this week she is standing in for her, and Im sure you will see her joining in other Challenges before she starts officially. Its a bit complicated but I hope you understand and give the girls the welcome they deserve.
And now back to this weeks Challenge and as always our very generous sponsors and stunning owners and creators are Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30.

http://www.thepapershelter.com/

But as always this comes with the rule that you must have used one of their images, papers or printables on your card, and even if you havent they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice, so you really cant loose can you. Dont forget to pay a visit to The Paper Shelter website and see for yourself what brilliant value they are and you will find it here.
And now for my Card.

I have used "Shopping Girl" for my image and you will find her here, I printed her onto white card and coloured her with my copic pens, then used Nestabilitie Die Labels 8 to cut her out and the fancy one for the mount out of pink card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink card, the papers are from the Papermania "Born to Shop" and I have used three of the papers, the first a white background with hearts on, the second is a pink and white stripe one and I have used a Martha Stewart heart border punch on both edges and placed it on the first layer, then the third is a fun paper with flying handbags on a white background which was mounted on another piece of pink card.
The mounted image was then placed in the center towards the top and the sentiment was placed on a banner die across the bottom right hand corner. To finish of I have used the left over papers to create three flowers with a Die-namics rolled flower dies and placed them in the top left hand corner on top of some punched out leaves. The final flourish are the gems in the two opposite corners.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration.
