My Five top Cards for 2010

These are the cards Ive chosen for Debbys Top 5 cards for 2010, as you can see most of them start from August this year, there is a reason for this as my computer harddrive gave up the ghost then and my dear hubby had to rebuilt my desktop computer for me, so I hope you will forgive me for not going back further in my cards as they are rather hidden somewhere on my external harddrives.
I do want to wish all my loyal and wonderful followers a very Happy New Year, good health and hopefully a more prosperous and crafty one.

Donna's Four Brand new Digi Sets - Available from the 2nd January

My Design Team Leader Donna of Bearlymine Designs has created four new stunning sets of Digi Papers, and you will be able to buy them from Sunday January 2nd from her webshop here and believe me they are truly beautiful as you can see from these photos above.
Dont forget also that the new Challenge Blog  will be launched on Tuesday 4th of January, I do so hope that you will be there supporting Donna and taking part in the fortnightly challenges, Im so looking forward to being one of the very talented Design Team.

"A Happy New Year to you All"

Good Morning Ladies, I know you are all getting ready for the New Year so I thought my last card for 2010 should be this appropriate image for you, its Mo's Bella and Bronte celebrating, and as this is my last Dream Team Guest Designer card I couldnt think of anything more in tune as its the start of a brand new year on Saturday and you will find this image here in Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.
Ive printed the image onto white card then used my copic pens to colour it then afterwards cut it out with the Nestabilitie Die No.1 and created a faux mount for it out of white pearlescent card. The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of white pearlescent card and one of Donna's beautiful papers from her Christmas Dreams design set, and by the way she will be selling three new digi sets this coming Sunday and believe me they are stunning, you really should pop across to her shop then and see them for yourselves.
Down the middle Ive used a further strip of the same card but put it through my star embossing folder and used some blue ink and brushed it across them.
I then positioned my mounted image in the middle and created two daisies with my floral punches layered them up and then stuck them to my card in the top left hand corner on top of four papers curls and several punched out leaves.
This card is to be entered in the following Challenges:-

"Needs Mummy"

Good Morning Ladies, I do so hope you had a wonderful Christmas mine was quiet, but I did get to speak to three of my grandsons and one of them hasnt been well over the holiday and I thought that this image was very appropriate for him and he really did sound a little sorry for himself.
This image is Mo's "Needs Mummy" and you will find it here in Mo's Digital Pencil Shop, Ive printed him onto white card then coloured him with my copic pens after which Ive used the Nestabilitie Label 17 to cut him out, I then mounted him onto beige pearlescent card, the sentiment is one I created on my computer and mounted in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of beige card and one of four papers from Kay Millers "Capes and Bliss" paper downloads, the first paper is an all over flower pattern and then on top Ive used a strip of stripped paper across the middle with one of my border punches, then the last two mount have a petal paper on the square mount and a star one of the oval.
I then positioned my mounted image in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right handside, and to finish of Ive popped four buttons down the left side of different sizes but threaded some ribbon through the holes first.
I will post this on Mo's Dream Team Blog to.

Happy Christmas to you All

This is my last card now till after Christmas I want to wish you all a very Happy Christmas with your families and friends, I would also like to thank you all for being such fabulous and loyal followers and want to send you my love for always being there for me.
Todays card has been made using Mo's Bella and Bronte I must admit that I consider Bella my adopted granddaughter as she is so like my youngest granddaughter, anyway this one is titled "Christmas Morn" and you will find her here on Mo's Digital Pencil site. Ive printed her onto white card and then coloured her with my copic pens, I then used the Nestabilitie Label No.1 to cut her out and then drew around the edge of the die to create the mount for it. The sentiment is a Just-Rite stamp and I coloured it as well before cutting it out and mounting it the same way as the image.
The base card is 7"x 7" white card with a first mount of dark blue card and for my paper Ive used this beautiful pattern from Donna's Bearlymine Designs "Christmas Dreams" its a gorgeous blue paper with ornaments and a very pretty snowflake edge around it. As I didnt want to cover the pattern up all Ive done is then wrapped a white satin ribbon down around the middle and positioned my mounted image in the middle, and the sentiment to the right handside at the bottom.
To finish of Ive created a flower spray with one white hellabore, and two cherry blossom flowers and stuck them to my card with some silicone glue on top of some punched out holly leaves.
Thats it for now, hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, see you next week.

"Siku and Shiya"

Good Morning Ladies, well its snowing well in Gloucestershire so I suppose its a definite for a White Christmas this year, poor hubby has been out in the gardens clearing paths not only for the humans but also for the birds, and now with it snowing its covering up all his hard work.
Anyway todays card is titled "Siku and Shiya" and you will find it here in Mo's Digital Pencil Shop, Ive printed them onto white card before colouring it with my copic pens and used a coarse glitter on the fluffy bits, and because it was to big to use a die on it Ive cut it out with my rotatrim and then used some glitter around the edge before mounting it onto a piece of red pearlescent card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and for my first layer Ive used another piece of red card and one of two papers from the Bearlymine Papers these are spots and Plaids, Ive cut them in triangles and positioned them in two oposite corners and then stuck a spotted red ribbon across the scene.
On top of this Ive positioned my mounted image and then created a sentiment on my computer and mounted this in the same way as my image and positoned it at the bottom on the right. To finish of Ive stuck some snowflake buttons down the right hand side.
I will also be posting this on the Dream Team Blog.

"Shall I Play for You"

Good Evening girls, sorry Im a bit late today posting this but its been a real weird day, its been snowing since 11am and is still doing so now, so Im wondering what we might wake up to tomorrow morning will just have to wait and see I suppose.
Todays card is this gorgeous Drummer Boy image called "Shall I Play for You" from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop and you will find him here, I will also post this card on Mo's Dream Team as well. Ive got to say that whenever I hear the song Drummer Boy it brings tears to my eyes and the way Mo has drawn this little lad makes you well up as he seems to be rather poorly dressed to.
Anyway Ive printed him onto white card then coloured him with my copic pens, after which I cut him out with my oval Nestabilitie Die and mounted it onto a scalloped die cut, the sentiment is one of Whimsey Seal ones and this has been mounted on a scalloped die cuts.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of blue pearlescent card, and two papers from Donna's Bearlymine Design "Christmas Wonderland" digi set, and the first pattern is an all over spot and snowflake design then on top across the middle Ive cut a smaller strip of snowflake paper and used a border punch along both sides then stuck it on top of a strip of the same blue pearlescent card, Ive then wrapped a white ribbon around the middle and tied a bow on the right hand side.
On top of this on the left Ive mounted my image and the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. To finish of I have created a large snowflake with some punched outs and dipped them in glue and crushed glass glitter, then through the middle Ive put a pearl brad then stuck it at the top on the right.
I will be posting this on:-

"Fairy Tabia"

Well good morning Ladies, guess what weve got the white stuff back again, not to deep but still a hazard when you go out in it. Ive got some news for you today, my second eldest grandson Thomas whos 17 and suffers with Aspergers Syndrome passed his driving test at the first attempt on Thursday and Im that proud of him that I thought you might like to know that even children with problems can achieve what they really set their hearts to, and Thomas from the time he was born had a lot of those so you can understand why Im so proud of him and his mum who has always believed in him.
Ive had a strange week firstly my desktop computer played up and locked up a couple of times, and was only sorted by my hubby changing a cable inside it, as it kept loosing contact with it, then my printer decided to lock up, I exchanged my printer with my hubbys and after some jiggling around he eventually got it working again, then to crown it all my Wii locked up this morning, luckily it just meant I had to turn it of and on again, but Im begining to think Ive got a jinx on things, luckily Ive just finished taking up five pairs of trousers and fortunately it all went smoothly, just hope it goes on that way as tomorrow weve got to go and purchase some clothes for my MIL whos in a Old Peoples home locally Im not sure Im looking forward to that.
Anyway to get back to business todays card has been created for not only the Dream Team but also for this weeks Mo Challenge which is "Fantasies and Fairies", Ive used this sweet image of "Fairy Tabia" for my card and you will find her here in Mos Digital Pencil Shop. Ive printed her onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens, after which Ive cut her out with my rotatrim as she was a bit big for my dies, then mounted her onto a piece of lilac pearlescent card. The sentiment is one I created on my computer and this has been mounted in the same way.
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card with a first layer of lilac card with one of three papers from Kay Millers "Cutie pa Tootie" digi paper set, this first one is a beige background with mauve and pink flowers on, in the two opposite corners Ive used a corner punch, on the next two squares Ive used the all around punches of the same design, the paper designs are in pink and mauve, then off set them to create a star, on top of this Ive wrapped a satin ribbon around the middle and positioned my mounted image in the middle and my sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side.
To finish of Ive created a flower spray of some white and mauve roses and with some punched out fern leaves stuck them to the top left hand corner. The last thing Ive done is popped some dark mauve pearls around the punched out corners.
This card is to be entered in the following Challenges:-

"Angel Michael"

Good Morning Ladies hope that you are all getting excited for Christmas and all your shopping and plans are nearly finalised, as it looks as though we are being promised some more bad weather, if this morning is anything to go by I wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt to far away as it was a very heavy frost again.
Anyway I thought you might like to meet "Angel Michael" you will find him here in Mos Digital Pencil Shop, after printing him onto white card Ive coloured him with my copic pens before cutting him out with my Nestabilitie Die 17, then drew around the same die for the mount. The sentiment is one of stash ones its by Hobby Arts and I felt it went nicely with the image, Ive cut it out with a smaller die and gone around the die in the same way as the image for the mount.
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card and Ive used three papers from the Nitwit Downloads "In the Park" set, the first one which Ive layered up on blue pearlescent card is a all over sky pattern, then on top is a blue striped one, and the last two mounts are of spotted design. On top of this I have positioned my mounted image towards the top and my sentiment at the bottom on the right. To finish of Ive created a bow with some white organza ribbon and then stuck a pearl brad and spacer through a net flower and stuck them at the bottom on the left.
This card is also to be posted on Mo's Dream Team blog.

Cards for Men - Challenge 25 - "Blog Hop"- Two Challenges "Card and Gift"

This post will stay at the top till the 13th December, to find more recent posts please scroll down.
Wow, can you believe it's been a year of challenges over at Cards for Men? To celebrate we have lots going on with tons of prizes available, I did promise you a fortnight ago some surprises and here they are. There are two challenges this time, both with a Christmas theme. You can make a card or a present or both, it's up to you. We'll draw a random winner from each category and top 3 as usual. You can get all the details and lots more ideas from the Design Team click here at Cards for Men. and this is where you need to start the bloghop.
Here's my DT card and gift which were made with a lot of help from my dear hubby Ian.

The card was created using the Umount set of stamps by Sheena, and coloured with my copic pens, the background was created using a clock stamp and several shades of glimmer mists, these were sprayed onto white card and the clock stamp was then stamped over it randomly with versafine ink, not that its to clear in the photo, sorry about that. The strip down the middle has punched out trains along the edges, and the two sentiments are from Pink Gem, Janet has some fabulous ticket stamps and I felt these were the most appropriate.
The calendar stand was created using a template sent to me by a dear blogging friend Christine and with my hubbys help, he actually built it for me from some wood he bought locally, I then used some clear varnish to seal it. The actual calendar is of twelve photos I found on the internet and luckily they are of the local Steam Restoration Society that my hubby is volunateering to help, so its a very appropriate Christmas present for him with the card, the calendar months have been printed onto acetate and stuck on the photos.
As an extra surprise to celebrate this special 1st Anniversary each of us along the way are giving away a special prize and I have 4 fabulous digi images from Meljens to give away and the lucky winner will be chosen from one of the comments that are left on my own blog.

And this is what my sponser Melissa says about herself:-

Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical rubber and digital images inspired by her kids and family. Meljen's Designs has new releases along with a new challenge every Thursday, freebies every Monday and a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog. Please visit the Meljen's Designs line of stamps at the WHIMSY STAMPS STORE to browse and enjoy Melissa's wonderful images!

So dont forget to be in with a chance of winning these fabulous digi stamps you must leave a comment at the end of my blog, a winner will then be chosen at random on the 20th December.
If you have been following the list of blogs from the begining you should have arrived at my blog from my fellow DT member:-
Viv

and at each of the stops along the way you will have found a word to collect to make a festive phrase, and my word is "Christmas"  and by the time you arrived here you should have collected all 11 words, so now all you have to do is work out the phrase and leave it in the comments back at Cards for Men which is your next stop. If you have at any time missed or lost your way, the best thing is go back to "Cards for Men" and start again. The blog hop will run until midnight on 19th December 2010 and a winner will be chosen on 20th December. I want to wish you all Good Luck and hope youve enjoyed taking part in our first bloghop.

A Card for Many Challenges

Good Morning Ladies the sun is out and my desktop computer is working again, it seems it was a plug that wasnt quite connected so it wasnt making contact, anyway Im thrilled to say Im now back in business and very grateful to hubby for sorting it out so quickly.
Todays card has been created for several challenges, it started out being for the Just Magnolia "Christmas Card" but as I went through my list I found several others that it will cover so I thought what the heck here we go, especially since I havent actually taken part in any challenges for a couple of weeks I thought I would try for several at one go.
The main image Tilda has been stamped then masked to put the Noel stamp behind her, after which Ive coloured it with my copic pens and cut out with the Nestabilitie die No.16, I then used the same die to cut a mount and turned it to put my image on top. The sentiment is one of new Whimsey ones and this has been cut with a circle die and larger one for the mount.
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card with a first layer of blue pearlescent card and one of two fabulous papers from Bearlymine Designs this is the new set "Christmas Dreams" and I love this set of papers they are so pretty and have beautiful edges which Ive tried to keep and show to its best. On top of the first layer is a square of paper which has stars and trails on Ive used a snowflake border and corner punche around it, this has been put in a diamond shape on top of the first layer then across the middle Ive put a satin ribbon and some lace and attached to the back of the first mount.
The mounted image was then positioned in the middle and my sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side, Ive also punched out some swirls using the Marieanne diecuts and then put at the top and bottom on the left hand side and to finish of Ive created a floral spray with two blue roses and one white hellabore then they were stuck to my card with three punched out holly leaves and some silicone glue, I then used some blue stickles around the petals of the hellabore.
This card is to be entered the following Challenges:-

"Kitten in a Santa Hat"

Good Morning Ladies, well my day has started well, I went to start my desktop computer and it keeps locking up on me so Im not a very happy bunny, hubby carnt look at it till tonight as its his volunteering weekend and hes gone of to help with the signal box rebuilding at Parkend and Im struggling with my notebook, so I wont be writing much of a monologue today.
Todays card has been created with Mos "Santa Cat"and you will find it here and Ive printed it onto white card then used my copic pens to colour it as a ginger tom, I used Nestabilitie Label 1 to cut it out, then used the same die to draw around to use as a mount, the sentiment is one I created on my computer and afterwards cut it out with one of the smaller dies and mounted it in the same way.
The base card is 6"x 6" white card with a base layer of beige pearlescent card and one of four papers from Nitwits Downloads this set are called "Miawow" the first paper is an all over sentiment pattern and then Ive placed a strip of checked paper down the middle and used my treelights EK border punch down it, on top of this is a third paper and this one is a dark beige base with loads of different paw marks on, on top of this is fourth paper and this has lots of hearts and circles on.
I then wrapped a piece of brown ribbon around the middle and tied a knot to the right hand side, on top of this I positioned my mounted image and the sentiment was then stuck at the bottom on the right hand side. To finish of I have used my glaze pens in the light bulb holes that were punch out with the border punch.

"Artic Steed"

Good Morning Ladies, I do so hope that its not as cold near you as its been here the frost has been so bad that its looked as if its snowed and I was even cold in bed the other night so I had to go and get another duvet to put on top as I just couldnt get warm, mind you in the morning we were as warm as toast.
Todays card for Mos Dream Team is gorgeous image called "Artic Steed" and you will find it here Ive printed it onto white card then coloured it with my copic pens then used my Nestabilitie Die No.8 to cut it out afterwards I used the die to draw around for the mount, and this was done on some blue pearlescent card, the sentiment is one of the new Whimsey ones which I bought from Nikki here and I have printed it onto white card and then used one of the double ended tags to cut it out.
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card and for my first layer Ive used a piece of blue pearlescent card and two papers from Kay Miller Downloads and this one is called "Artic Antics" and the first paper is an all over snowflake pattern on a blue background, on top of this I have laid a white paper with a border of small snowflakes in a 6"x 6" size and positioned it in the middle, then down the middle Ive used two organza blue ribbons and attached them to the back of the first layer, then stuck my mounted image in the middle. I then tied a ribbon bow and threaded a pearl brad with a flower spacer in the middle then stuck it above the image.
To finish of I have created two snowflakes which I have dipped in crushed glass glitter and stuck them at the bottom on the left hand side, and the mounted sentiment to the right hand side but stuck it to the card with two pearl brads.

Good Morning Ladies hope the weather is begining to ease up near you its still pretty cold here in Gloucestershire and weve certainly had some hard frosts in the morning. Anyway todays card is yet another for the Dream Team and this is the second of Mo's "North Pole Employees" and you will find it here this image comes as a pair, and I think they are so cute, Ive printed this one onto white card then coloured him with copic pens, I then used Nestabilitie Labels 8 to cut it out and then Ive drawn around the die to create the mount for it. The Sentiment is yet another of the Just-Rite Circle Stamps and Ive cut this out with a circle die and used a larger one for the mount. I did use some Glamour dust on the fluffy bits of both hats.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of dark purple pearlescent card and one of  Kay Millers Downloads called "Cutie pa Tootie" its got a really fabulous purple pattern paper which Ive used for the base layer and then Ive used two more of the papers a pink and lime green ones that Ive cut in strips and use a leaf punch down both edges and layered them up under a strip of the same purple pearlescent card that Ive ran through my cuttlebug with one of my embossing folders.
I then positioned my mounted image towards the left and my sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. To finish of Ive created a flower spray with a Hellebore and two purple cherry blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts, these were stuck to my card with some silicone glue and some punched out holly leaves on which I used the Martha Stewart punch on, the last thing I did was use some purple stickles on the petals of the Hellabore.

Good Morning Ladies, I hope the snow has stopped in your neck of the woods, weve still got a layering but luckily its not to deep but it is impacted and icy so you have to watch yourself when walking on it, and by the gringe its cold as well, it was below -5 last night and I actually woke up feeling cold in bed this morning so Im well and truly wrapped up now.
Todays card has been created for this weeks "Glitz and Glimmer" challenge of Mo's and Ive used this gorgeous image of "Pammy on Christmas Morning" and you will find it here I printed her onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens after which I used the Nestabilitie Label 17 to cut her out and then used it again to draw around for my mount from red card. The sentiment is one of the Just-Rite circle stamps and this was done in the same way as the image but Ive used a circle die to cut it out instead.
The card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of red card and one of three papers from Kay Miller Downloads and this set are called "Frosty Friends" and the first paper is an all over snowflake design of serveral colours, the second paper is a red one which Ive cut in a square and on top I have put the third paper a diamond design around which I have tied a red snowflake ribbon.
