A Card for Mo and Cute Card Thursday Challenges

Good Afternoon All, well its become cloudy again so I suppose we are in for some rain, I did manage to get out for about 30mins at 12noon when the sun was out, but by gum it was very windy and my poor daffodils are being battered to death. Anyway todays card has been created for this weeks Mo's Challenge "Buttons and Bows" and Cute Card Thursday "Couples" Challenges, Ive used this sweet pair for my image from Mo itns called "Brady and Chloe" and Ive printed it onto white card then used my copic pens to colour it before using the new Nestabilitie Die No.19 to cut it out afterwards using the same die to draw around and create the mount for it. The sentiment was one I created on the computer and printed it out onto white card and mounted it onto a piece of the same green card.
The base card is 6"x 6" white card with a first mount with green pearlescent card and one of two papers from the First Edition"Hideaway" papers, a very pretty white base with spots of orange yellow and green with flowers in them, the second piece has been cut into a strip and Ive used a heart border punch from Martha Stewart along both edges, I then positioned it across the card and on top I have put a piece of threaded lace around and attached it to the back of the first mount.
I then stuck my mounted image in the middle and the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. I created a bow with some seam binding ribbon and stuck to the right of the mount, and the last thing I picked three buttons from my stash and threaded some bakers twist through the holes and tied bows with it, and then stuck two at the top on the left and one on top of the green binding bow.

The Seventh Paper Shelter Challenge - "Inspired by"

Well it seems that its all the sevens this week, I have already posted two challenge cards which have reached their seventh one and this one isnt any different. Today we have reached out Seventh Challenge but it doesnt seem that as weve only been going seven weeks but it feels like yesterday when we posted our first one, but the best news is that each week more and more of you are taking part in our Challenges and I carnt thank you enough for doing so, Ive got to say it "Makes sense" to do so and to use one of The Paper Shelter Images as youve got a better chance of winning this Voucher for $15 its amazing just how many images that it buys. Unfortunately if you dont use a Paper Shelter image you dont go in the draw.
This weeks challenge is "Inspired by" and it actually means something or someone who has inspired your creation, Im inspired by the beautiful box cards that so many of you have made and the one person that really inspires me is Rach of papercraftsbyrach.blogspot, she created a stunning one recently and I just knew I had to give it a try and this is the result.

You really need a tutorial to create this card as the inside is quite complicated and Im not going to write it all out here, but if you look at the tab "Tutorials" at the top of my blog, click on it and then scroll down you will find a couple that will take you to the ones I found.
Ive used this sweet image of "My best Friend" and printed her onto white card and I used my copic pens to colour her, after which I used Nestabilite Die No.8 to cut her out then drew around the die to create the mount for it. The sentiment is one of the Whimsey ones, and Ive printed it and mounted it in the same way as the image.
The main box card is a 6"x 6" design but with extra for the punched edges, its better to use the instructions in the tutorial to create it rather than me writing it out, but I will say that I used for the outside part two papers from Donna's Bearlymine "Spring Blossoms" papers, the top one is a flower pattern and the bottom a striped one, across the middle I have laid a piece of lace on top of which I also put a long satin ribbon so that I am able to tie it up.
I then positioned my mounted image on top of this, and created a flower from some of the flowers I found in my stash, I rolled them up and stuck them on top of one large one and then positioned it at the bottom on the left hand side. In the inside of the box I printed a verse that you can see on the second photo, this was done before I put the box surroundings onto it.
I do so hope that you like what you see and that you will pop over to The Paper Shelter Challenge blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented team have created for you, and Im sure with their inspiration you will want to take part in this weeks challenge also.
This card is to be entered in the following Challenges:-

a brand new name. Now I had better get a move on and show you the card that I created for this challenge and here it is:-
I have used this time one of the Whiff of Joy stamps this is "Willow with basket" and I stamped her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, then I cut her out with my square Nestabilite die and used a scoll stamp around the edge before mounting her onto a square scalloped mount out of yellow pearlescent card. The sentiment is one from my stash which I thought went well with my image, this was also stamped onto white card then cut out using my rotatrim and mounted on another piece of the same yellow card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of yellow card and one of two papers from Donna's "Delicious Delights" papers and if you click on the title it will take you to her webshop for you to buy it. This first paper is a very yummy strawberry one, on top of this I have laid a piece of yellow card thats been put through my cuttlebug with a leaf embossing folder, then for my second paper Ive used a cherry one which also comes from the same paper set but this was stuck at the angle as the sketch shows, on top of this is my mounted image and the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
To finish of I have stuck in the top left hand corner a large daisy head on top of some punched leaves. I do hope that this card will inspire you to take part in our Challenges, do please pop across to the Blogspot and see what the rest of the team have created for you, they are stunning.

The Sixth Paper Shelter Challenge - "Flower Power"

I just carnt believe that we have already got to our sixth Challenge for The Paper Shelter but here we are and this weeks challenge is themed "Flower Power" I can well remember the 60's and the flower power people singing the hippie songs and dressing in the most outlandish clothes and it seems this week we are drifting back towards them, and some of my fellow team chums have even used a new image thats just fabulous for this particular challenge.
Again this week I must bring your attention to our rules, to be in with a chance to win our 15$ voucher you must use one of the The Paper Shelter images and you will find them here and believe me they are very good value, and stunning as well. You will love some of the cute and querky images that are available and they are even selling papers to go with some of them, so do please pop across to their website and see for yourself. As I said we are sponsered by The Paper Shelter themselves and they are offering us a Voucher for 15$
I have chosen to use this image and its called "Fairy Emma" and if you click on her name you will be able to see her for yourself.
Isnt she a sweetie, Ive printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used the Nestabilitie Die No.8 to cut her out then drew around the die to create the mount out of green pearlescent card. The sentiment is one that I found on the internet by googling "Flower Sayings" I printed this also onto white card before cutting it out with my rotatrim and mounting it also onto green pearlescent card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of the same green card and one of two papers from Donna's Bearlymine Digi Papers this first one is one from the "Spring Blossoms" the second one is from the "Spring Stripes" and this was also mounted onto a piece of the same card, I then used a piece of the same card cut it out with a circle Nestabilitie die and ran it through my cuttlebug with a flower embossing folder. I then layed a piece of lace across the card with a strip of green seam binding and attached both of these to the back of the first mount.
The mounted image was them positioned to the right hand side and the sentiment at the bottom on the left, and to finish of I created a flower spray in the top left hand corner with five yellow roses of different sizes and these were stuck on the card with silicone glue and some punched out fern and rose leaves.

A Card for Three Challenges

Good Afternoon All, yes I know Ive been rather slow posting any cards but there are reasons but anyway I have made this card for three challenges and they are for Magnolia Down Unders "A Sketch". Totally Tilda Challenge "Chipboard" and Just Magnlia's "Favourite Colour Combo's" and Ive used the twins for my image, I dont know about you but you wander what they might be thinking they remind me of the two from the Addams Family Film, which I caught this week they are so alike, anyway Ive printed them onto white card then used my copic pens to colour them. I then cut them out with the Rectangle Nestabilitie Die and the scalloped one for the mount with some mauve pearlescent card. The sentiment is one from my stash and this was stamped and mounted in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of mauve pearlescent card and one paper from the K&Co Sparkly Sweet paper pad, its a very pretty mauve base with several flowers on in shades of pink/mauve and aqua which I think go beautifully together. I then stuck a doily on top and across the middle is a piece of mauve satin ribbon which was then attached to the back of the first mount. The mounted image was then positioned in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side.
I then die cut a corner from some very stiff mauve card and stuck pearls in the connecting arms, and to finish of I used four roses of different sizes that were stuck to the card with silicone glue and some punched out rose leaves, I also popped two pearl pins in at the top that were kindly given to me by Linda, thank you so much my love.

For my card Ive chosen this image titled "My Little Garden" you will find it here and I printed it onto white card then coloured it with my copic pens, afterwards I used my large Rectangle Nestabilitie die to cut it out, and then used the die itself to draw around onto green card and cut it out by hand to create the mount for it. The sentiment is one I googled on my computer, this was also printed and cut out and mounted in the same way as the image.

Cards for Men - Challenge 6 "A Sketch by Mandy"

Good Morning All, its amazing that already 12 weeks have slipped by this year, and we are now onto our 6th Challenge which is a fabulous sketch by my fellow Team member Mandy of Craftyfoxcards Blogspot,
The sponser this time is Letreset you just couldnt ask for anything more exciting,
and the fabulous prize they are offering the winner is a set of 12 promarkers,

and here is what they say about themselves:-

ProMarkers are made by Letraset and are a twin tipped, dye based alcohol marker offering a high quality product at a great price. Avilable in 148 colours, they give incredible tonal range and can be applied to a diverse range of materials, not just paper and card. ProMarkers produce vivid, bright colours right through to the subtlest pastel shades - the translucent inks can also be overlaid and blended, even further extending the range of shades and hues on offer. ProMarker's quality nibs and inks provide flawless colour lay down with consistent coverage and no unsightly streaking.

And here is my card for this Challenge:-

The image I have used for this card is by Stampin Up and the set is called "Summer by the Sea" unfortunately the set is now discontinued and I had a bit of job getting hold of a set of stamps, this actual image was given to me by a really lovely follower of mine, (she knows who she is) and I just couldnt use it without getting hold of the actual stamps to be able to use this image again. Ive stamped it onto white card and used my promarkers to colour it, after which I cut it out with my rotatrim and mounted it onto dark blue card. The sentiment is one of the Penny Black stamps and felt it went well with the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of dark blue card, and one of two papers from the Nitwits Downloads and is a lovely blue paper with a water and wave pattern on, the two corner pieces are a beige paper with darker spots on, these were also mounted on the dark blue card. The card was created as the sketch shows, and to finish of Ive used three buttons top and bottom in the mounted corners.
Now that youve seen my card do please pop over to our Challenge blog and see what the rest of my fellow team members have been upto, and no doubt it will give you inspiration to take part in this Challenge.
Just before I go I want to offer you the chance to become one of our Design Team, if you are interested you will find all the details on the Challenge Blog.

A Card for Just Magnolia Challenge - "A Sketch by Bev"

Good Morning All, the sun is out again though weve already had some rain Im hoping it wont come back but you know how our weather is like, you carnt rely on anything. Todays card is for the Just Magnolia's "A Sketch by Bev" and Ive used this sweet image of Tilda in her wellie boots, I think it was part of my Club Stamp kit, and Ive stamped her onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens, after which I have cut her out with a small circle die by Nestabilities, Ive had to do the out of the box technique on it so it would fit in the Die-namic die behind it, Ive also used a lace doily one as well. The sentiment is one from my stash and has been mounted on a piece of the same pearlescent card as was used for the dies.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink pearlescent card and one of two papers from the Kay Miller Downloads, I do love them as they are vibrant and beautifully patterned. The first paper is a pretty flowered one on a white background, the second paper across the bottom is a pink background with a darker pink spot on, this was mounted on some pink card. Ive created the card to the sketch, and afterwards I created a flower spray down the side of the image with several different sizes of roses and some punched out rose leaves and they were attached to the card with silicone glue. The last thing are the three pearls down the edge on the right hand side.

A Card for Several Challenges

Good Morning All, well the sun is sort of half out and its still a bit chilly, but at least its dry and the days are getting longer and hopefully it wont be long before we enjoy warmer ones as well. Anyway todays card has been created for several Challenges, firstly Mo's "A Bit of Green", Tip Top Tuesday's "Happy Birthday", Cute Card Thursday's "3rd Birthday" and Paperplay's "Shades of Green/Good Luck". Ive used this lovely little chap whos name is "Sam in trouble" and I can well remember my middle daughter Sarah doing a similar thing with felt tip pens all over our wallpaper, sweet child and of course we couldnt get it of, she also did the same thing with her dolls as well, mind you she will be 44 in a weeks time and I dont think shed like to be reminded of her naughty carryons, I have to laugh shes got four children of her own and has been through the same things with them to, so all I could say was "now you know what its like" not that it went down well. Anyway Ive printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him and the Nestabilitie Die Label No.8 to cut him out and then used the same die to create a faux mount for him. The sentiment is one from my stash and Ive used a double ended tag die for this one, the No.3 was also cut out with a Nestabilitie Die.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of lime greem card and one of three papers from the Nitwit Downloads, the first a green stripe paper, the second paper a green spot and was cut into a smaller strip which has had both sides punched with the train border punch from Martha Stewart, then on top Ive used a green plaid one thats been mounted on another piece of the same green card and positioned down the middle. I then positioned my mounted image on top and the sentiment below on the right and attached it to the card with brads, and then stuck the No.3 at the end. To finish of Ive popped some little train buttons down the right hand side.

I carnt tell you enough how fabulous these images are and so reasonable in price, do please click on the voucher which will take you to their webshop to see what a fabulous selection there is.
This weeks theme is "Lucky Charms" and as its only a week away from St Patricks Day I deceided to use this cheeky looking Gnome for my card.
I love his cheek, sitting there guarding if pot of gold. Anyway I printed him onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him and then used the Nestabilitie Die Label No.8 to cut him out, Ive also used the same die to draw around then cut it out with my scissors to create the mount for him. The sentiment is one from my stash and this was treated in the same was as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of lime green pearlescent card with one of three papers from Donna's Bearlymine "Spring Blossoms" and "Plaids" digi papers, this paper is a pretty lavendar base with lots of daisys on it in various sizes, on top of this is a green base plaid paper, and the third is a white base with a green strip on. I wrapped a piece of green seam binding around the middle and then tied a knot of the right hand side with my two clover leaf charms from it.
I then positioned my mounted image towards the left, and the sentiment at the bottom on the right. Now that youve seen my card please do pop over to our Challenge Blogspot The Paper Shelter and see what the rest of the very talented team have created for you.

A Very Special Request for a - "Polka Dot Card"

This is the second card Posted today, for a very special Challenge.

On Saturday, Donna our Team Leader of The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog was asked if she and Cheryl and the design team would like to take part in a special Blog Challenge, and if so they wanted us to create a card using one of The Paper Shelter Images with Polka Dot Papers. This is the Challenge Blog below that we are creating a card for, please do click on the picture to pop across and give them your support as its for the service men and women in the War Zones. As my eldest grandson is due to go back to Afghanistan this coming Christmas Im only to aware how much they depend of us remembering them and keeping in touch.
As Donna was actually asked by the owner of The Paper Shelter if we would make the card, I said yes and feel only to happy to help in such a good cause, and heres the result my card hope you approve.
This is such a fabulous image hes called "A Cockatoo is watching You" from The Paper Shelter and thought that it would make a lovely male birthday card. I printed the image onto white card then used my copic pens to colour him, after which I used a large circle Nestabilitie die to cut it out, and used an even large one and brown card for the mount. The sentiment is one that I googled on the computer, cut and pasted it into Word and then added the Happy Birthday before printing it and mounting it up onto a bit more of the same brown card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with one of three papers from Donna's Bearlymine "Simply Dots" digi papers, the first paper has a yellow background with brown spots, hoops and dotted rings on it, on top of this I have layered up two spotty papers, one in beige and one in yellow, I have cut them into strips and used a dot border punch from Martha Stewart on both, these were positioned down the middle then on top of this I have layed a piece of the same brown card that I ran through my cuttlebug with a spotty embossing folder, on top of this I have put two ribbons, one brown and the other a beige with cream spots on.
I then positioned my mounted image in the middle and the sentiment below, and the last thing I have done is put two brown buttons that have tied ribbon knots through the holes at the top on the left hand side.
I do hope you will now pop over to the "OWH Stars and Stamps" blogspot and see for yourself what the rest of the Design Team have created and take part in the Challenge.

A Card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - "More than one Fold"

Good Morning All, well the sun is out but its very frosty this morning, hopefully it wont take long to melt, we are of to do our monthly shop in about an hour, but first I have to go and have a blood test, and hubby has to wait in for our post lady, she likes to use our loo. Anyway I thought you might like to see yet one more Challenge card I managed to create yesterday and this one is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge "More than one Fold", and I used this gorgeous image with is own sentiment for an easel card.
I stamped her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, I then used my rotatrim to cut her out as shes far to big for any of my Nestabilities, then mounted her and the sentiment on to blue card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of the same blue pearlescent card, and one of three papers from Donna's brand new Cd "Spring Delights", its got some really fun papers on it and this one is a large daisy pattern on a blue background, the second paper Ive used is a yellow one with a smaller daisy pattern and Ive cut it into a 5"square and used one of my Martha Stewart all around border punch set, the third paper is pink with again a daisy pattern on it and this is a strip that I used on the inside of my card and Ive mounted this also on the same blue card, then popped my sentiment in the middle.
On the front I have put a strip of the same blue pearlescent card across the middle but again used the same punch along the two edges and wrapped a piece of yellow satin ribbon around it then stuck to the back of the first mount. The mounted image was then stuck in the centre, as its a big image Im not able to put any flowers around it as it would look to heavy.
This card is to be entered in the following Challenges:-
