A Card for the LOV Challenge "I Believe in Fairies"

Good Morning Everyone, and guess what after all that wind its now pouring of rain I know our poor gardens could do with it, but why does it always have to do it on a Bank Holiday? Oh well never mind it at least gives me the excuse of not having to go out in it, and todays card has been created for the Lili of the Valleys "I believe in Fairies" Challenge, now Ive got a big secret to tell you, I love them and have always believed in them since I found a book with them in when I was five years old and now over 60 years later I still have that same book its a little battle worn but its still my fondest memory of my grandparents and Christmas 1947, I know you can now work out how old I am but what the heck go for girls, (Im actually 69 this November). Well getting back to the card Ive used this sweet image of a fairie then coloured her with my copic and tria pens after whice Ive used my Nestabilitie Die No.19 to cut her out and used a smaller one for the sentiment which is another of the LOV stamps. Both have been mounted onto card where Ive used the same dies to draw arund then cut them out with scissors.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of deep purple card and one of three papers from Kay Millers "Wings" digi download papers, the first a mauve background with several coloured butterflies on, the second is a green paper and Ive used the butterfly punch set all around the sides from Martha Stewart, then on top a strip of card with a stripe paper down the card then Ive used another of the same pearlescent card and ran it through my cuttlebug with an butterfly embossing folder, this was then laid across the card with a piece of seam binding ribbon wrapped around the middle.
I then positioned my mounted image in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right, I then created a triple bow with the same seam binding and stuck to the left of the mount with a silver butterfly stuck in the centre. To finish of I used some of the left over paper to create two flowers that have then been stuck to the top on the left with some punched out leaves.
Before I finish I want to let you know that my Design Team Leader Donna of Bearlymine in collaboration with Fred She Said,  has another beautiful and stunning "Summer Roses" digi paper set out, if youd like to see how gorgeous it is please do pop across to her site here and see for yourself.

Sundays with Santa - "Ribbons"

Good Morning Everyone, well I dont know about you but its turned extremely cold again and still windy and Im right fed up with it how about you? Anyway todays card has again been created for this weeks challenge on Facebook Sundays with Santa "Ribbons" Challenge and Ive used this sweet Hedgie image from Penny Black to make my card, Ive used my copic pens to colour it then used a large Rectangle Nestabilitie die to cut it out and a larger one for the mount. The sentiment is yet another from the LOV stamps range and Ive used one of the new ribbon banners from Spellbinders.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of red card and one of four papers from Donna's Bearlymine Xmas papers, the first one a red back ground with white snowflakes and one top is a second mount with white background and different coloured fir trees, and then a strip of blue with parcels on and a punched border of snowflakes, then the last mount is a white paper with fir trees in red and blue then around the middle Ive wrapped a wide red ribbon with gold edges and holly leaves, then positioned my mounted image in the centre with the sentiment at the bottom right hand corner.
To finish of Ive popped four discs (that spell snow) that have had a ribbon threaded through the holes and hung from the top of the card.

A Card for Two Challenges -Mo's and Cute Card Thursday's

Good Afternoon All, sorry Ive not been around for a few days Im taking it a bit easy and only doing the odd challenge as I find my stash of cards is begining to overflow and to keep them safe Im having to push them into overflowing boxes so I hope you will understand if you dont see me to often. Anyway todays card has been created for this weeks Mo's "Pearls and Flowers" and Cute Card Thursday's "Sketch" Challenges, and I must admit Ive slightly played around a bit with the sketch just hope they wont be to upset. Ive used this sweet fairy image from Mo and printed her onto white card before colouring her with my copic pens, I then cut her out with a large square Nestabilitie Die and then used my rotatrim to make the mount, the sentiment is one from my stash I think its one of the Hero Arts cling stamps not totally sure though, and Ive treated it in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue pearlescent card and one of three papers from the new Nitwits "Blueberry Cottage" digi downloads, the first paper is a very pretty blue background with white flowers on, the second is a heart pattern on a white background and the third a stripe paper in several colours. I then positioned my mounted image in the centre with the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side.
To finish of Ive used my Upsy Daisy Flower punch to cut out many layers from some of the left over paper and then threaded a pearl brad through the centre, afterwards I stuck to my card with some silicone glue on top of some punched out leaves. The last thing is the pearls that have been stuck in the two opposite corners.

Bearlymine Eleventh Challenge - "Die Cuts and Lace"

Good Morning Everyone, well another fortnight has flown by and here we are at our Eleventh Challenge, and this one is being hosted by my Design Team Leader Donna of "Bearlymine Design" and she has chosen this theme of "Die Cuts and Lace" Im so glad its not my job this week to pick the winners of our last challenge as your work using my theme of vintage easel was stunning. Anyway this time we have four sponsers and they are:-

Wow what a fabulous collection of prizes what I would do to be able to win at least one of them, its so unfair we dont get the chance to do that, oh well never mind heres my card for this Challenge.
Well Ive used this sweet image from a sheet of Fairy stamps that I bought from Crafts and Me by Bridgit Ashwood, you will find them here on their website I did have a peep yesterday but I couldnt find them, but I love this particular image as hes such a cutie, that I stamped him onto white card then used my copics to colour him, as hes quite big I then cut him out with my rotatrim and mounted him onto blue card, the sentiment is one that I found in my stash and have treated it in the same way as the image.
The base card is 7"x 7" white card with a first mount of blue card and papers from Donna's "Paper Lace, Spring Stripes and Spring Surprise" the first paper is a very pretty yellow background with a beautiful border of blue flowers, and on top of this I have used a circle of blue plaid and a strip mount of multi coloured stripes. I then positioned my mounted image towards the left of my card with the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
I then cut out two leave sprays with one of the Marianne dies and then stuck at the bottom along the left side and with a piece of the left of paper I have punched along the edge with one of the lace punches then made it into a circle before sticking it to my card at the top on the right. I did use some glossy accents on the bubbles and some glitter on the little lads wings.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pop across to The Bearlymine Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the very talented team have created for you and hopefully that this will inspire you to take part in the fortnights Challenge of "Die Cuts and Lace".

Cards for Men - Challenge 11 - "No Designer Papers"

Good Morning Everyone, well what a blowy day it was yesterday, the only good thing was the sun was out most of the day, I rushed outside to try and tie up my Peonies but as soon as Id done that I found loads of other plants that were being battered by the gales, oh well at least its was a mainly dry day just as well as hubby was painting a ladder on the side of the signal thats being reinstalled at the local steam railway society where he volunateers. Anyway to get back to business today we have now reached our Eleventh Challenge for Cards for Men, and this fortnights challenge is "No Papers" and this means no designer backing papers are to be used on your card, and guess what weve got a fabulous sponser and you wont want to miss this its
And theyve generously have offered us not only one prize but three so its 3 digis for the 1st prize, 2 digis for the 2nd prize and 1 digi for the 3rd prize and this is what they say about themselves:-

I'm sure you're all familiar with the wonderful work of Kenny K's Shop but what about the man (and woman) behind those wonderful creations. Take a look here to see their journey, http://www.kennykdownloads.com/about-kenny-and-elena.php

And I know a lot of you are great fans of these images and we were so lucky to be able to play with some that we were generously given and this is the one I chose to play with.
What a joy to use, and Ive printed him onto white card then used my copic and tria pens to colour him, I then used my rotatrim to cut him out as he was far to big to use a Nestabilitie, I then used some red card to mount him on, the sentiment is one from my stash and Ive treated this in the same way as my image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and because we werent allowed to use any dps I used one of stensils to run it through my Grand Calibur to emboss it, the actual stensil is one that looks like metal stepping the type they use on fire escape stairs in buildings I suspect you can fisualise it.
I then positioned my image in the centre with the sentiment directly underneath, as its for a man I decided not to put any embellishments on it. I sincerely hope that now youve seen my card you will pop across to our Cards for Men Challenge Blog and see what the rest of our very talented Design Team have created for you, and Im sure it will inspire you to take part in this fabulous Challenge.

A Card for LOV Challenge - "Here comes Summer"

Good Afternoon All, hope you are enjoying your weekend, my hubby has gone volunteering so Ive been trying to get some jobs done without him under my feet, Ive painted a couple of doors and now Ive just finished my challenge card for Lili of the Valleys "Here comes Summer" challenge, and Ive used this sweet image of a rabbit swinging in the garden. Ive stamped it onto white card and then used my Tria pens to colour it, after which I used the Nestabilitie Die No.17 to cut it out and then drew around the die to create the mount out of pink pearlescent card. The sentiment is yet another of the LOV stamps and Ive treated it in the same way as the mount, but I used a small leaf stamp on the edges of both just to fill up the whiteness that didnt look right.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and on top of this I have used a first mount of pink pearlescent card and then one of four papers from the Nitwits "Super MeeWee" digi download papers, the first one a white background with flowers on, then down the right hand side is a yellow check paper that Ive used one of the flower border punches from Martha Stewart on. Then on top is a stripe paper on a piece of pink card, and the fourth paper is a pink flower pattern on yet another piece of pink card. I then wrapped a pink grosgrain ribbon down and around the card  that was then attached to the back of the first mount.
The mounted image was then positioned in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right, I then popped some pink pearls down the two opposite corners and the last thing I created two paper flowers with the new Die namics roll flower punch and stuck to the card on top of some punched out leaves on some silicone glue.

The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and for the first mount Ive used the same dark beige card and on top Ive used two papers from the "Count your Blessings" from Kay Miller downloads, its a very pretty green beige background with flowers on, then on top Ive used a plain paper and used my all around border punches from Martha Stewart, it was then stuck on top of the first mount.
The sentiment was positioned in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side, to finish of Ive used another of the papers from the same digi set, and punched out two flowers with my new Die namics flower punch, then rolled them and stuck them to the base, the stuck them to the card at the top on the left on top of some punched out leaves with some silicone glue.

A Card for Many Challenges

Good Afternoon, I had a fabulous message this morning that I had won the LOV/The Ribbon Girls blogcandy and I was absolutely gobsmacked and thrilled, as ribbons, charms and LOV stamps are my favourite goodies to play with, so Im looking forward to receiving both. Anyway I thought that I would enter the Ribbon Girls Challenge "Pink and Lilac" and as they are my favourite colours I just couldnt resist the chance to enter it. Ive used this image from H&S stamps its from the "Attitude" set of stamps, she certainly looks a little madam doesnt she? Anyway Ive stamped her onto white card then used my Copic and Tria pens to colour her, I then used my Nestabilitie Die No.10 to cut it out, then used the die to create the mount by drawing around it onto mauve card and cut it out by hand. The sentiment is one of the CC ones and Ive stamped it and cut it out with my rotatrim.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of mauve pearlescent card, and one of two papers from a couple of the Kay Miller Downloads, the first paper is from the "Wings" set and this one is a mauve background with lots of butterflies on, the second is a strip on which I have used the Butterfly Border punch from Martha Stewart, this paper is a pretty pink spot one and this was from the "Sweet Sprinkles" set. I then used a piece of the same pearlescent card and ran it through my cuttlebug with a butterfly embossing folder, this was stuck down the middle of my second layer.
On top of this I have wrapped a piece of beautiful lace and some dark mauve seam binding, you will find a very fabulous selection from The Ribbon Girl and if you pop across to their webshop you will see for yourself. I then positioned my mounted image towards the left hand side, and the sentiment at the bottom on the right. To finish of I created a flower spray with five different sized roses and some punched out fern leaves which were stuck to my card with silicone glue.

Bearlymine Tenth Challenge - "Vintage Easel Card"

Good Morning Everyone, yet again another fortnight has slipped by and weve now reached our tenth Challenge, and guess what Im hosting this one, its the first time that Ive had to actually not only posted on my own blog but also on the Bearlymine Challenge Blog, I also get to pick the winners from the last Challenge, what fun, lets hope I dont let anyone down. I have chosen the theme of a "Vintage Easel Card", mind you after I chose it, I was a bit worried as to what I could use for my topper but luckily Joanna Sheen came to my rescue.
Well to get back to business, this fortnights Challenge is being sponsered by the following companies:-

Bearly Mine Designs - 2 Digi Sets of Winners Choice
Crafty Emma - a collection of 8"x 8" confetti papers
    Bildmalarna - 1 Rubber Stamp

Theres certainly some awesome prizes and Im sure you would be happy to receive one of them I know I would, I also want to tell you that Donna's Digi Paper Sets are stunning as you would see if you popped across to her webshop and see for yourself, you will find them here. Anyway here is my card for this Challenges:-
To create my card I have printed an image from Joanna Sheens "Victorial Companion" Cd onto watercolour cream card, and then cut it out with my rotatrim, and mounted it up onto a biege pearlescent card. The main card is a 7"x 7" white card and I have printed double the usual papers for the outside and inside of my twisted easel. I have used two pieces of Donna's Bearlymine "Vintage Lacy Dreams" for the first mount and both of these were also mounted onto beige pearlescent card, then I cut two pieces in a 5 inch square from Donna's Bearlymine "Shabby Vintage" to create the second mount which has had the all around lace punch used on it, they were then stuck on top of the first mounts.
Then across the middle of both I have laid a wide piece of old fashion lace with a strip of cream seam binding ribbon that was attached to the back of the first mount. For the inside I have stamped a verse onto a piece of card and mounted it towards the right hand side, and created a large double bow and stuck this to the left of it. To finish of this I cut two hearts from more of the same card and stuck them at the bottom on the right hand side.
The front of my card has had the mounted image positioned to the right of the card and I created a flower spray with several sizes of cream and beige roses from Wild Orchid Crafts plus pearl sprays and then stuck it to my card with silicone glue on top of some punched out fern leaves.
I do hope that now youve seen my card you will pop across to the Bearlymine Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented team have created for you, and hopefully you also will be encouraged to take part in this fortnights Challenges.

The sentiment is one from my stash and has been treated in the same way as my image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with several papers from two Paper stacks Wild Roses for Men, and the Forever Friends, they went together so well that I felt they were the best choice. Its come to my attention that there is someone on Ebay taking copies of our Cards and then using them to create CDs with our work on, and claiming that they are to give the purchaser ideas to create their own cards. Its not the fact that we dont mind giving others ideas or inspiration, what is annoying is that this person is profiting from our work and its got to stop, Bev is starting up a Forum
http://stopthieves.myfreeforum.org/index.php to try and stop these people doing this. So if youd like to be part of this crusade please pop across and register yourselves.

Good Morning Everyone, yet again we have reached another Challenge and this weeks one is themed "Bling it Up" and you can bring out all your glitter and sparkles and really go to town. There are new rules for winning prizes now and they are as follows, anyone can take part in the Challenges and those that use The Paper Shelter image automatically are entered in the draw for the Voucher
and will receive images to the value of $15 and those that use other images will win one of The Paper Shelter images of their choice, we are hoping that this will bring more entries and once youve seen what fabulous images and papers there are you will be sorely tempted to buy and use them yourselves with a better chance of winning the main prize.
Heres my DT card for this weeks Challenges:-
For my card I have used this gorgeous Victorian Beauty for my image and have printed her onto white card then used my Copic and Tria pens to colour her, I then cut her out with my rotatrim and mounted her onto a mount of green pearlescent card, I have also popped some gems on her bows, and necklace and used some glossy accents on her mirror. The sentiment is one I created on my computer and then printed it and cut and mounted it in the same way as my image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of green pearlescent card with one of three papers from The Paper Shelters "Retro Paisley" paper set, the first paper is a yellow background with several shades of green paisley pattern on it, the second is a yellow based one and has been mounted on a circle mount that was stuck on top of the first mount, the third mount is a red paper on a strip down the front. Over these I have wrapped a piece of beautiful lace that I had from Wild Orchid Crafts, with a piece of red satin ribbon laid by the side of it at the top.
I then positioned my mounted image towards the left, and the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. To finish of I have created a flower spray from one large red rose with four rose buds, two pearl pins and glass beads this was stuck to the card with silicone glue on top of some punched out fern leaves in the top right hand corner.
Now that youve seen my card please do pop across to The Paper Shelter Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for you, and do take part in this fabulous challenge this week.

A Card for Many Challenges

Good Morning Everyone, hope that you are all enjoying yet another holiday weekend, the sun is trying very hard to come out and Im hoping to get out for a walk after dinner. Anyway todays card is to cover several Magnolia Challenges, Magnolia Stamp Lovers "Flowers", Totally Tilda's "Paper Piecing", Magnolia Down Unders "Lace and Ribbons", Dutch Magnolia's "Mothers Day" and Just Magnolia's "Buttons, Bows and Bling" and hopefully with what Ive got here will cover everything. Ive used this sweet image of Tilda with a butterfly, and coloured the base of it with my Copic and Tria pens, and then Ive used two papers from the Hideaway Paper Pack from First Edition and they are two papers with the same pattern but with opposite colouring the first a green with white flowers, and then white with green flowers, they were then stamped and cut out the relevant pieces and stuck them to my image, afterwards Ive used the Oval Nestabilitie die to cut her out, I also used some glitter on the butterflies. I used some of the same green pearlescent card to cut a mount of a scalloped die and the sentiment is yet another of the Magnolia stamps thats been treated in the same way as the image.
The base card is 6"x 6" white card with the first mount of green pearlescent card with one of two of the same paper set, this first one is a all over white background with stripes of different colours and patterns across the paper, on top I have put a single strip mount with a piece of the same green flower paper that I used for her skirt.
On top of this I have wrapped a piece of lace and ribbon around the card and attached it to the back of the first mount, then positioned my mounted image in the middle on top of one of the Cherry Lynn Die cut Doilies with the sentiment at the bottom on the right. I have then created some flowers with yet another piece of the same paper pack and a bit of the green for the middle flower, I used the Marianne flower dies for this, and stuck them onto my card with some silicone glue on top of some punched out oak leaves. The two buttons on the right have had threaded through the holes some fine ribbon and tied in bows, and the final bow is a triple seam binding one thats been stuck at the side of my image.
