Christmas Break Challenge - Anything Goes - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, well I do so hope that you enjoyed our Blog Hop I will be announcing my image winner as soon as Im able but it will be in a separate post but I do want to thank you all for taking part I know the Design Teams certainly loved taking part.
Todays Challenge is our last one for this year and both the Design Teams will be taking part, our 1st Challenge after this will be in the New Year on January 10th, so I want to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and I hope you thoroughly enjoy it as we wont be leaving any comments on the entries for this Challenge as its only fair that the Design Teams have a chance to be with their families and not worry with commenting on the entries.
But firstly before I show you my card you will want to know who our Sponsors are and as always our sponsers are The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30. to spend on their website

But as always it comes with the rule that you must have used one of their products on your card or project, this could be a Image, Paper or Printable and even if you don't, they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice, so it really is a win win situation don't you think.
And now for my cheeky card hope you like it:-

This image is titled "The Santa Family Selfie" and you will find it here, I printed the image onto white card then coloured it with my copic pens, afterwards I cut it out with the Nestabilite die and used a larger one for the mount out of Red Card.
The base card is 6.50"x 6.50" white card and Ive used the backing paper from the image set and you will find here, and this was also mounted onto a piece of the same dark red card. I then placed a large red bow in the top left hand corner and on top I have placed a poinsettia flower. To finish of I have used some nuvo drops in the two opposite corners.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pop over to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot to see what the rest of the Design Teams have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will want to take part in this "Anything Goes" Challenge.

Challenge #319 - A Christmas Card - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, can you believe that in just 6 weeks time it will be Christmas, well Im sure you can guess why I picked the theme for this weeks card

A Christmas Card

actually I have had all mine made, signed and ready to post for about a month, I like to get well ahead with all my cards if I can and considering how difficult it has been for me this year I must admit its been quite an achievement, so I think Im well in my rights to blow my own trumpet.
Before I go on I want to give you some future news, in two weeks time we will be hosting our 7th Birthday Blog Hop so I hope you will be back to see that with the chance of winning one of our free digi images for commenting on each of the Design Teams cards, so looking forward to that.

This sweet image is called "We are Santa and Rudolph" and you will find it here, Im not sure my dog (a yorkie) would appreciate one of my great grandsons putting these antlers on her as she doesnt exactly approve of having a coat on when it rains, but you never know she adores children and no doubt would put up with anything from them.
I printed it onto white card then coloured it with my copic pens, I then used a nestabilitie die to cut it out and drew around the die to create the mount. Before mounting the image onto it I used some puff embossing powder for the bobble and cuffs and also the nappy which went quite well for me.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of red card the backing paper is also from the same design set and the image and you will find it here. I then placed my mounted image towards the middle with the sentiment which was stamped (about 6years old), in the bottom right hand corner, and to finish of I have used some glossy accents on the bubbles across the top.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope that will you pop over to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for you and hopefully you to will be inspired to enter "A Christmas Card" into our  Challenge.

DT Card for Crafty Friends - Add a Sentiment

Good Morning Crafters, we were asked by our DT Leader Christine if we would take part in The Crafty Friends Challenge by creating a card "Add a Sentiment" as I am on the Pink Gem Designs Design Team and of course this Challenge is being sponsored by Janet and we thought it was a very good idea and was happy to oblige.

And here is the Card I created for the Challenge

Janet has recently created some really fabulous boy images for us on the DT to play with and I just couldnt wait to play with these and create a card for my great grandson, there is 4 of the Pink Gem Images and they are

Backing Paper - you will find that here
Wigwam  - you will find it here
Tribal Bear - you will find it here  -
Tribal Fox - you will find it here

I printed all the images onto white card and coloured everything but the background which was already coloured. I used my copic pens on all the images and cut them out completely. The sentiment was created on my computer and then printed and cut out as shown and mounted onto a piece of green card.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of green card and I mounted the background onto this, I then created the scene as you can see in the photo.
I do hope that you will pop over to the Crafty Friends Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the Design Teams have created for the "Add a Sentment" Challenge.

Challenge #317 - A Card for a Child - The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, this weeks theme is all about cards for Children and I'm sure if your anything like me this is one of those cards that you have to create most of the time, I have 10 grandchildren between hubby and I and 3 great grandchildren so you can see there is always a card needed for one of those, though not all are small children now but adults with little ones of their own. So we want to see

A Card for a Child

please and it doesn't matter if its a Birthday, Christmas or even a Christening card the choice is totally up to yourselves.
But firstly you will want to know who our Sponsors are and as always our sponsers are The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30. to spend on their website

But as always it comes with the rule that you must have used one of their products on your card or project, this could be a Image, Paper or Printable and even if you don't, they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice, so it really is a win win situation don't you think.
And for my own choice of images this one was ideal for one of the boys in my family, and believe me we have 8 plus the 3 great grandsons, I do wish we had more little girls but maybe in future we might be lucky.

This little chap is called "Lil Cowboy" and you will find him here, I printed him onto white card and used my copic pens to colour him, afterwards I used Nestabilitie die to cut him out and then inked him around the edge of the die before removing it out of the die, thats what gives the white edge. I then mounted it onto a fancy diecut also from Nestabilities and this was a brown card. The sentiment is one from my stash and was treated in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount the same colour brown card and the fancy mount, onto this I have placed the backing paper that comes with the "Lil Cowboy" set and you will find that here. I then placed the mounted image in the center with the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner. To finish off I used some rope and string to create a lasso which was then placed in the top left hand corner and embellishments down the right hand side and one in the bottom left.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and I hope that you will then want to take part in our "A Card for a Child" Challenge.

After I finished colouring her I cut her out with a Nestabilitie oval die and then a fancy one for the mount out of a gold coloured card. The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" and for my first mount I used the same gold coloured card that I used for my mount and then placed one of the "Champagne Lace" papers from Pink Gem Designs and you will find them here.
I wrapped a gold card around one end of my card on the left and placed my mounted image towards the right, I then created a large bow from the same gold ribbon and with a strip of gold organza ribbon tied it together and placed in the center of my wrapped bow as shown in my photo. The sentiment is one I stamped and mounted it with the same gold colour card and tucked it in the middle of my large bow on the left. My last thing was to to stick yellow pearls down the right hand side.
