Cards for Men - Challenge Three - "Love"

Well weve had another fabulous response to last fortnights challenge "Lets Party" over 100 entries, and wow where they something, thank you so much for being such loyal followers of our Challenges, and Im sure this next one will definitely be up your street, as its almost Valentine Day weve picked a very good theme for this fortnights challenge "Love" and we are being sponsered by Prairie Fairy Designs, and they are one of the leading digi stamp designers out there,
and this is what Roberta says about herself and her website:-
Hello! I am Roberta from Prairie Fairy Designs. I am a new digital stamp company featuring artwork not only created by me but also my two kids, ages 9 and 12. They are featured on the site as the Fairy Princess and the Prairie Prince.
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember and have always loved to create. Two years ago my sister-in-law invited me to a rubber stamp party. I laughed and said "Maybe I will buy something if I can use it to stamp on canvases.". Needless to say, I was hooked! Two years later and a lot of learning about computers, I have finally accomplished my goal.
While digital stamping is relatively new in the papercrafting scene, it is what I believe to be such an amazing tool. Printed images have such clarity and vibrancy and gone is the need to re stamp an image because you didn't press hard enough or maybe you pressed too hard! They are also a lot easier to store and they can be reprinted over and over again. The fact that you can rotate and flip files, print them off the size of a postage stamp or as large as a scrapbook page makes them such a versatile medium. It is my sincere hope that I can help anyone who has hesitations about using digital images to embrace these amazing creative tools. If you have any questions about going digital, check out the site and the blog for more information. So head on over to http://www.prairiefairydesigns.com/ and check it out!
And Roberta has offered a prize of 5 digi images of your own choice.
                                                            ----------------------------
And here is my DT card for this Challenge and Im using Roberta's "Sending you Love" image and Ive printed it onto white card then coloured it with my copic pens, after which I cut it out with the Nestabilitie Nesting Hearts Die, and used the scalloped one for the mount, the sentiment is a Whimsey stamp and has been treated in the same way as the mounted image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with my first mount of red card and one of three papers from Donna's Bearlymine Design "Love Dreams" papers, the first one is a sentiment paper with scrolls around the edge, the second is a beige paper with several different coloured hearts on it, the third is a red paper with white hearts on, Ive also used a heart doily to pop behind the mounted image on the right which was positioned towards the left hand side and the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
I do so hope my card and the rest of my DT teamies will inspire you to create "Love" cards for our Challenge, please do pop over to the Cards for Men Blog and see what stunning cards theyve created for your pleasure.

A Card for Dawn

Good Morning Ladies, todays card is for a very special friend of mine Dawn, in fact its one of her own digi images that Ive used to create this card. Dawn has been selling her own craft Cds on Ebay for many years and thats how I met her and we have been friends ever since. I suggested to her about a month ago it might be the next step for her to start looking into creating Digi images and this is her first attempt, now I know there are a few problems and Im sure with time Dawn will get a better feel of the way it works, as Ive found that the lines are just a little faded in places when I printed this and a couple of others but I did want her to see the results of the first card, I do so hope she gets pleasure of actually seeing her digi stamp in card form.
These digi's are of little girls in bubbles, and Ive printed her onto white card and coloured her with my copic pens. As lilac is my favourite colour this is what Ive used for this card, I cut her out with a circle die, and used a larger one for the mount. The sentiment is one of the Stampin Up swerve stamps, and I felt we could get away with using it for this card.
Ive created a 6"x 6" white card and three papers from the Kay Millers digi downloads, the first paper a very pretty flower papers, the second is a pinky/mauve plaid paper and the third a stripe paper. Around the middle Ive wrapped a lilac satin ribbon around the middle, and then positioned my mount in the middle and my sentiment at the bottom on the left hand side. To finish of Ive created a flower spray of three roses, pearl sprays and punched out fern leaves these were attached to the card with silicone glue at the top on the left hand side.

Another DT card for The Paper Shelter

Good Morning Ladies, well Ive just spent a couple of lovely hours at a job I dont enjoy and thats defrosting my freezer, its one I put of as long as I can but as I should have done it before Christmas I thought I really out to get it done now before our next big shop, and guess what I had loads of water all over my carpet, so now Ive got to wait for it to dry out, oh well such is life, good job hubbys not around or he might be moaning at the wet patch so lets hope it dries out before he gets home later this afternoon.
Anyway todays card is the second DT card for The Paper Shelter and Ive used this gorgeous "Sweet Dreams"  its a new image of theirs, Ive printed it onto white card and coloured it with my copic pens, I then cut it out with my circle Nestabilitie Die, the mount is cut out with a Die-namics die and I got this from Tracy at Dies to Die For she gets them out to you in double quick time. I have used Donna's "Peach Dreams" papers from Bearlymine Designs (dont forget her Copic Pens blogcandy) and the two papers Ive used have a beautiful combinations of soft colours in them, the first one has been mounted on pink pearlescent card, and the second Ive used one of my Martha Stewart all around border punches, and on top Ive wrapped a pink ribbon around the middle.
The sentiment is one of the LOV circle stamps and this stamped and cut out with a circle die before being mounted on a scalloped circle diecut and positioned at the bottom on the left, the mounted image before being stuck to the card, I arranged lace all around the edge and then positioned it at the top on the right. To finish of Ive cut out two corners with the Marianne dies and positioned them in the two opposite corners and two small roses were then stuck on top.

A Card for LOV Challenge - "Anything but Square"

Good Morning Ladies, well the sun is trying to come out but whether its going to stay is another thing, its still very cold outside and Im not looking forward to more snow so lets hope it doesnt come, hubby is volunteering tomorrow and he gets very cold and when it does.
Todays card is for the Lili of the Valley Challenge "Anthing but Square" and Ive used this sweet image that was given to me by a very special friend, she knows who she is, bless you my love and thank you, you are a real true and a wonderful friend. Ive stamped her onto white card and coloured her with my copic pens, then used my Nestabilitie Label Die No.1 to cut it out, then drew around the die to create the mount. The sentiment is another of the LOV stamps, and this one has been cut out with the rotatrim and Ive used a corner punch to round of the corners, Ive also used a lilac inkpad around the edge to distress it.
The main card is a 5"x 6" white card which has been cut out with one of the Go Kreate shaped dies, I also used a smaller one for the mount and the one paper Ive used is from Donna's new "Floral Fantasy" Bearlymine Design Papers, these will be available from next week, they are stunning as Ive already announced she has two brand new sets and is working on three more. I should also like to say that Donna has some copic pens as blogcandy so if you really would like to take part click on the link at the  top of my blog on the right hand side.
One top of this Ive wrapped a lilac satin ribbon around the middle and positioned my mounted image on top and the sentiment at the bottom on the left hand side. To finish of I created a flower spray with three roses and punched out leaves this was stuck on the card at the top on the right handside with some silicone glue.

First Card for The Paper Shelter and Cute Card Thursday Challenge

Good Afternoon Ladies, well here we go this is my first official DT card for The Paper Shelter and Im also going to enter it in the Cute Card Thursday "Sketch by Lynn" challenge, and this ever so cute image is "Cupid Girl" I carnt tell you how cute these images are and I would strongly recommend you click on the name to go and have a look at them.
Ive printed her onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens, afterwards I cut her out with my Nestabilitie Label Die No.1 and then draw around the edge to create the mount for it. The sentiment is one of the gorgeous "Love" sentiments from Whimsey Stamps you will be able to get these from Nikki of BunnyZoes shop. Ive then cut it out with my circle die and created a mount for it with a scalloped one.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of red card, Ive then used Donna's fabulous "Love Dreams" digi papers from Bearlymine Designs, oh by the way shes got some brand new digi sets coming out soon, and they are stunning so do keep your eyes open, I shall be previewing some of them in the next few days and you will be able to see for yourself, and if you click on Donna's name you will be able to see what I mean.
I then created the card with the papers from "Love  Dreams" as the sketch from Lynn shows, the first an all over sentiment paper and then on top a beige paper with hearts and punched heart corners, and the third a stripe and the same punch used on these corners to. I wrapped a red satin ribbon around the middle, and positioned my sentiment on top on the left, and my mounted image at the top on the right. To finish of Ive created two hearts, which I received for Susi Sugar in my prize last week, and covered them with some crushed glass glitter, and stuck them at the bottom on the right. The last thing is a large daisy that Ive stuck to the top on the left on top of some silicone glue and punched out leaves.

A Card for the House Mouse & Friends Challenge

Good Morning Ladies, well I hope that the weather near you is better than it is here in Gloucestershire as it looks as if we are in for some heavy rain the sky is black and its now gone dark again. Anyway Ive got some good news for you today Ive been picked to join Donna and Cheryl's The Papershelter Design Team, Im really excited about this as its the first weekly Challenge Team I will be joining and Im sure I will find it a challenge to keep up but I hope that I shall enjoy being part of a very talented team, so do please pop along and see how we get on when we officially start the challenges which will probably be in middle of February.
Todays card is for the House Mouse and Friends Challenge "Embossing" and Ive used this sweet little image of a mouse boating on a fish pond. Ive stamped him onto a piece of white card and coloured him with my copic pens, afterwards Ive cut him out with my Nestabilitie Die Label No.2 and the sentiment is another from the same set of stamps and Ive cut it out with the same die, both have been mounted onto faux mounts where Ive used the same size die and drawn around the outer edge of the die then cut them out by hand.
Now Ive been asked several times about the card I use for my mounts and my embossing, its actually Pearlescent Card its 250gsm, and I buy it from Alexander Paper Supplies if you click on their name you will see all about it. Ive used a paper from the Nitwit Downloads this one has a scroll pattern which reminded me of waves for the first layer, and the second is a leaf pattern and I cut a strip and used one of Martha Stewart border punches down both sides and laid in down slightly to the left, over this I have laid a large square of dark blue pearlescent card which I have put through my cuttlebug with a scroll embossing folder, then around the middle Ive wrapped a dark blue satin ribbon and attached it to the back.
The mounted image was then positioned towards the right and the sentiment at the bottom on the left, to finish of Ive stuck three small fish buttons.

A Card for Many Challenges

Good Afternoon Ladies, I must apologise for not posting anything for the last few days, I have been working and Ive been creating cards for my DT work so thats why I havent had time to post anything on here. But today I thought Id better get my finger out and make something for several Challenges at once, and this one will be firstly for the Just Magnolia Challenge a sketch by Donalda, Totally Papercrafts "Add a Heart", CES Challenge "Angels and Fairies" and Stamp Somethings "Cute Somethings" and I think this sweet H&S image covers all of those.
Ive stamped her onto white card and coloured her with my copic pens, I then used glossy accents on the hearts (Im afraid I rather smudged the one of the sentiment, not that it shows when you look at it, but the flash rather shows it unfortunately) and some white puffy stuff on the edges of her dress and sleeve, and some glitter on her wings. I then cut it out with my circle Nestabilitie and used a Scalloped one for the mount. The sentiment is one from my stash and I dont remember whos it is at the moment sorry.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of pale green pearlescent card and two papers from the Kay Miller Download "Capes and Bliss" two papers with different base colours but with the same flower pattern on, I then used a piece of lace around the middle and attached it to the back. To finish of Ive used a large daisy and some punched out leaves to attach it to the bottom of my card on the left with some silicone glue, then popped six green pearls down the other two opposite corners.

And this is how it goes:
I promise to send something handmade (a card) to the first five people who comment on this post. However, there's a catch. You must post this, offering something handmade to five other people.
The rules state that it must be something handmade or homemade by you and needs to be sent to five other people during 2011.
If you'd like to join in the fun, then be the first to post a comment and something handmade or homemade (card) will be coming your way at some point this year.
Isn't that cool?
So lets see what we can do!
Come play!
I will contact the first five by email for your snail mail address.

Ive used this new image from LOV and its called "Times to Treasure" its quite sweet really of these two children reading a book together, and Ive stamped it onto white card then coloured it with my copic pens, after which I cut them out with my Labels Nestabilitie Die No.1 then Ive drawn around the die to create the mount for it, the sentiment is also from the same stamp set and Ive used the small label die for this one.
The card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of beige pearlescent card, and one of three papers from the new Papermania's "Bird Song" set of papers, this first one is a leaf pattern with birds on, the second is a orange paper with again birds and leaves on, and the third is a plain beige patterned paper in a linen look. Around the middle Ive wrapped a ribbon and created a bow for it on the right, its the new seam ribbon thats a real wow with us crafters at the moment, this one came from a supplier on Ebay, but I know Wild Orchid Crafts has it as well.

A Card for the House Mouse & Friends Challenge

Good Evening Ladies, yes I know its another late one but Ive been trying to find a image amoung my House Mouse stamps that could be used for this Challenge which is "New Beginings" and Ive decided after much deliberation to use this one and call it New Friends, and Im hoping I will be allowed to get away with that.
Ive stamped the image onto white card and coloured it with my copic pens afterwhich I cut it out with my Nestabilitie Label Die No.7 and then drew around the die to create the mount for it. The sentiment is one of C&C stamps and thought it was just right for this image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of green pearlescent card and one of three papers from Summer Driggs Free Downloads this one is called "Inspiration" and the first paper is an all over flower pattern in several colours, the second is a beige paper with white flowers and Ive used my new Martha Stewart border punch Cherish down the edges and the third a green check paper this was mounted onto another piece of the green card and stuck down the middle of the card.
I then positioned my mounted image in the middle and my sentiment below this was attached with pearl brads, and created two swirls with some green pearls, to finish of Ive used two more papers from the same digi paper set and created two flowers and with some punched out leaves in shades of brown stuck it to the top left handside with some silicone glue.

Another Challenge Card

Good Evening Ladies, I dont know about you but its still quite cold outside so whether that means we are in for some more cold weather I just sincerely hope not. We went swimming today and the water was cold and so you have to keep going to keep warm I gather it was just off 29 degrees I do hope its a bit warmer than that next time we go. Anyway todays card is for two challenges firstly Penny Black Saturdays "New Beginings" and Penny Black at Allsorts "All you need is Love" and Ive used this sweet hedgehog image for my card and a Stampin-up one for the sentiment.
The image was stamped onto white card then coloured with my copic pens, afterwards I cut it out with my rotatrim and mounted it onto pink pearlscent card, and Ive done the same with the sentiment to. The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of pink card and three papers from Raspberry Road Downloads, this one is called "Vintage Baby" and the first paper is a pretty rose and rattle design on white background.
Ive then used a strip one and a new border punch from Martha Stewart called Cherish, on top of this is another mount of a plaid design.
I then wrapped a pink satin ribbon around the card towards the bottom, and then stuck my mounted image on top and the sentiment underneath. To finish of Ive used a daisy and some punched out leaves and stuck it to the top on the left hand side, and I put some yellow stickles in the middle. I then created a ribbon bow and stuck it on top of the ribbon.

A Card for Just Magnolia Challenge - "Anything Goes"

Good Afternoon Ladies, sorry Im so late today but Ive been trying to get this finished for a couple of hours but I think I must be getting slower in my old age. Todays card is for Just Magnolia's "Anything Goes" with Buttons, and Ive used this lovely H&S image and coloured her with my copic pens before cutting out with my rotatrim and did the same with the mount, the sentiment is one out of my stash, sorry I carnt remember whos it is.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue pearlescent card and one of two papers from Kay Miller Download "Its a Spring Thing" a fabulous set of bright and cheerful papers, the first being a blue base with yellow and white flowers on, the second is a blue paper and Ive used a Martha Stewart large heart border punch down both edges, on top Ive put a strip of yellow pearlescent card and before sticking it down I ran it through my cuttlebug and a heart embossing folder. I then used my sewing machine to sew around both the edges of the base card and around my image, after which I stuck the image in the middle with the sentiment underneath.
I found five heart buttons and strung them in a row on some thread and stuck them beneath the image, and then for the final flourish I created a flower spray with some roses and punched out fern leaves and attached to the top on the left handside.

The sentiment is one from my stash and at the moment I carnt remember whos it is. The card is a 6"x 6" base card with four papers from Kay Millers "Tropical Punch" digi download set. A Card for two Challenges - Just Magnolia and Totally Tilda

Good Afternoon Ladies, sorry Im a bit late posting this card but Ive just been hunting around for a new fern leaf punch and it took me awhile to track one down, luckily I did manage to and ordered it. Anyway this card has been created for Just Magnolia's "Anything Goes" and Totally Tilda's "Ribbon and Roses" and Ive used this sweet image of Tilda and Edwin as a thank you card.
The base card is a 7"x 7" white card and the papers are Donna's Bearlymine Designs "Floral Dreams" and "Summer Fun" papers, and Ive used a rose folder for the embossed piece down the middle. I used pink satin ribbon across the middle, and the sentiment is one of the Whimsey ticket Stamps. I also used the Marianne corner die in the three of them.
To finish of Ive created a flower spray of roses from Wild Orchid and stuck them to the top left hand corner with silicone glue and some punched out leaves.
This card is to be entered in the following Challenges:-

"Happy New Year Everyone"

This is my first card for 2011 and I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year, and hope that you arnt suffering with any hangovers and that you enjoyed seeing it in, we spent a very quiet evening watching the TV and listening to all the fireworks that the locals let of, sorry to say we are getting rather boring in our old age.
This image is one of Mo's and its called "Reach for the Stars" you will find it here in Mo's Digital Pencil Shop, Ive created a 7"x 7" card this time and used the papers from Kay Millers "High Seas" and with four of her papers I wanted the feeling of sea and sky, and the two strips through the middle are to give the sense of sand and grass, I used one of my border punches along both edges and wrapped a ribbon around the middle and tied a bow.
The mounted image was then positioned to the left and my sentiment which is one of the Just-Rite stamps at the top in the position of a sun. To finish of Ive stuck a few stars down the right hand side.
I want to remind you that Donna has four new sets of Digi Papers that are to be released tomorrow, if you scroll down you will find them and the link to her webshop, the papers are gorgeous.
