Good Morning Crafters, well this week over on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot we are combining with the "B" Team for this weeks "Anything Goes" Challenge, its a special one and it will last for two weeks, and we wont be commenting on the entries as we are taking a two week break and will be back again on the 7th August to start a new season. So I hope you will forgive us and enjoy taking part in this fortnights Challenge.
We are as always being sponsored by The Paper Shelter and they are offering a brilliant prize of $30 to spend

on their website The Paper Shelter, but this is providing you have used one of their products on your card, that could be a image, papers or printables and they do have a fabulous choice to pick from. But even if you dont they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice. Please do and visit their website here.
And for my card I used this image

Its called "A Refreshing Drink" and you will find it here, I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her. Afterwards I used Nestabilitie Labels Die No.8 to cut her out and a fancy one for the mount out of purple card. The sentiment is one from my stash and has been placed on a fancy tag, again from Spellbinders.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of purple card, the papers I have chosen to use are from First Editions "New Bloom" paper pad, the first paper is flowered pattern on a white background and the second is green background with hearts on and I used a circle punch die for the doily.
I then cut a tree from some of the deep green card its one by La La Land and is called "Heart Tree" and I placed them on top of the doily and then the mounted image to the side of it. I then cut a border again from La La Land and thats called a "Tulip Border", this was then placed across the bottom of the card with the sentiment tag stuck towards the right. To finish of I have used the same green pearls and placed them down the top right hand side.
Now that youve seen my Card I do hope that you will pay a visit to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Teams have created for your inspiration, and hopefully you to will want to take part in this "Anything Goes" Challenge.

Its called "Bitty Christmas Tree Bears" and I have printed them on to white card and coloured it with my copic pens, afterwards I cut it out with my rotatrim and then mounted it onto a piece of red card. I also used some of the card to cut out the sentiment.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of red card, and the papers I have used are from Echo Park "Very Merry Christmas" paper pad. The first is a white background with snowman on, and the second is a green background with trees and snowflakes on it.

A Card for the Sundays with Santa Facebook Challenge

Good Afternoon Crafters, well I thought as I had to create a card for the Sundays with Santa "Embossing" Challenge you might like to see it, Im quite happy with it.
I had a long piece of doubled card and I wasnt sure what to do with it as its a strange size, but I found some white pearlescent card and as the embossing folders of snow and holly werent quite long enough to cover all the card I then just put it half and half, once it was embossed I stuck it to my piece of card and wrapped a ribbon (from my stash) around the middle. The sentiment is one of the new Hunkydory ones that I thought went well with the card.
And here is a photo of my dog taking it easy on the futon settee by the side of my craft desk, I hope your not finding the weather to tiring, today we have a lovely breeze and its making it more bearable.

Challenge #121 - The Paper Shelter - "Clean and Simple"

Good Morning Crafters, oh wow its certainly been hot here in Gloucestershire and my poor husband is finding it a trial, hes not good with it, and my poor dog is also finding it difficult but I dont mind much prefer it to the cold for sure. Anyway this weeks Challenge over on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot is all about a "Clean and Simple" design and I hope that you wont find it to difficult to create a card with it.
Anyway as usual our sponsors are Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30.
but this is providing you have used with one of their gorgeous products on your card, and that can be either a image, papers or a printable and if you like to browse their website here is the link to their site. But even if you dont use one of their products you can still take part in our challenge and if you are chosen by random org. you will receive 3 digi images of your own choice, so you really cant loose can you.
And now I want to show you what I have created for the Challenge.
The image I have used for my card is "I Win" you will find her here, and I have printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I cut her out completely. I then used some of the fawn card and a Cheery Lynn "Swedish Spring" die created a mount for her to be placed on. The sentiment is one from my stash and has also been stamped onto a piece of white card then mounted on a ribbon slider. I then threaded it with a piece of blue ribbon ready to stick to the card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of the same fawn card, the paper is the one that came with the image and I have mounted it onto the first mount. I then cut some swirls and stuck them around the top two corners and stuck the mounted image towards the top. I then wrapped the ribbon with the sentiment around the first mount and stuck it to the back.
To finish of I have used several roses of various creams and stuck them on top of the leave swirls (stash item) down the top two sides.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration, and hopefully you to will want to take part in this "Clean and Simple" Challenge.

A Card with the new Adorable Images from Funky Kits

Good Morning Crafters, firstly I want to let you know the news on my grandson and hubby, firstly hubby is doing well though his neck is rather stiff and the wound a bit inflamed but hopefully it will go down in the next few days, and of course he will find it easier to turn his head once they remove the stitches, its going to take awhile for him to get better use of his neck. And now for the news on my grandson, hes home thank goodness and his recover should be faster, though he still has a lot of follow up appointments to attend before we can say whether the whole repair has been successful, Joe did badly break his arm, both of the bones and they bowed as well and one of the ends came through the skin as well, so you can imagine what damage has happened and they have pinned the bones back together so lets hope they knit together properly without any problems, but only time will tell. So far hes been lucky not to loose his arm altogether. My daughter is worried what hes going to think of the end result as the wound is quite big and they had to close it with a skin craft by using some of his thigh skin to do so.
Anyway back to my card, this image is one of the new beautiful digi images from Funky Kits, this is "Ballet Student" isnt she gorgeous, Ive printed her onto white card and coloured her with my copic pens, afterwards I used Nestabilitie Die Labels No.1 with a Decorative one for the mount. The sentiment is one from my stash, and this has been mounted on a La La Land folded tag.
The base mounted is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink card and the papers are from "Isabella" from Do Crafts, and then on top is a beautiful square doily from Krafty Hands. The mounted image was then placed in the center and the sentiment is below on the right. To finish of I have used three carnations and two beaded sprays and created a spray in the top left hand corner.

Updates on Joe and Hubby

I promised to keep you updated on not only my grandsons left arm but also my hubby who today had to have a large blemish on his neck removed, hes now home but as you can see hes looking rather sore and red, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the biopsy on the skin comes back negative and we can start to get over this.
And now for my grandson Joe this is him getting ready for the transfer to Stoke Manderville ready for yet another operation on his left arm, this time it will be for a skin craft to close the wound that was caused by the broken bones coming through the skin. Unfortunately Milton Keynes hospital were unable on Wednesday to close the wound because the tissues and muscles were still badly swollen, I just hope that this 4th operation will do the trick and he wont need any more, as he suffers very badly from sickness from the anaesthetic and I know exactly how he feels because it affects me like that to.
I just hope that it wont be long before he gets home again as his poor mum must be exhausted with all the stress of this last week. And thank you all for your support, prayers and good wishes for him.

Prayers for Joe

Can I ask you all to say a few prayers for my gorgeous grandson Joe today, as he had a terrible fall out of a tree on Sunday and has broken his left arm very badly, hes already had two operations on it and is now due for yet another today. (Ive just had a text saying hes in the operation theatre as we speak).
Hes in so much pain and his mum (my daughter Sarah) is staying with him and she is worn out from lack of sleep and worry, she said hes in so much pain that he is finding it difficult to sleep, its such a shame as hes such a gorgeous lad, hes nearly 13 and not going to find it easy coping with his arm as hes such a active lad, a real boy.
Please God the operation goes well and he will be allowed home very soon, take care my loves, just wish I could be with you and your mum, its just that at the moment my dear hubby Ian is also due for a operation on Friday and is finding it difficult as he suffers with diverticulitus and is going through the hoop with it at the moment, and this is his first time experience for him. Hes due to have some skin removed from his neck and Im so hoping that its nothing nasty or he will find that he will need to return for yet more to be removed.
Its a very worrying time so please can you keep us in your prayers at this difficult time.
The latest news is that his muscles and tissue is so badly swollen they carnt close the wound, hes having to be transferred to Stoke Manderville on Friday for plastic surgery on Saturday so they can transfer some skin from his thigh onto it to close it, they will then send him back to Milton Keynes Hospital on Sunday. Poor little lad, his mum says hes sleeping at the moment dosed up on pain killers. I do so hope they can get him sorted soon.

Challenge #119 - The Paper Shelter - "Photo Inspiration"

Good Morning Crafters, by the time this post goes live I will be on my way to Looe in Cornwall for a few days holiday, we are meeting up with friends from Guernsey so it will be lovely to catch up with all their news, I just hope the weather improves and we have at least a dry time, wish me luck.
Anyway this weeks Challenge over at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot is a "Photo Inspiration" one and here is the photo I chose to use.

But before I show you my card I want to tell you about our sponsors Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter, they are the most generously offering a prize of $30.

but this is providing you have used one of their products on your card, they do have a fabulous choice of images, papers and printables on offer and they are very good value and the exchange rate is brilliant. But even if you dont use one they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice, so its a really good way of building up your library of images to use for our Challenges.
And now I want to show you what I did with this photo for my card.

I have used this gorgeous image "Everyone can Fly" and you will find her here, and I printed her onto white card and coloured her with my copic pens, afterwards I used Nestabilitie Die Labels No.1 to cut her out, then used a Decorative one for the mount.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of lilac card, and the papers are from First Editions "New Bloom" paper pack, the first paper is a very pretty cream background with a flower pattern on, the second is a strip across the middle which is a embossed one and the third is a pink paper and I have run it through my embosser and a doily die, this was placed under the mounted image. The sentiment was then tucked behind the corner at the top.
To finish of I have used my Cheery Lynn corner dies and cut out two with some of the lilac card and placed in the bottom two corners. And the last thing I have used some of the paper from the same paper pad and punched out several layers of flowers and then embossed them to create the flower in the top left hand corner.
Now that youve have seen my card I do hope that you will pay a visit to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration, and hopefully you will want to take part in this "Photo Inspiration" Challenge.
