A Year has Gone By

This is only going to be a short post as its quite a difficult day for me, its a year since my dear Mum passed away and I miss her so much that I just wanted to let you see what a beautiful young woman she was when she 19 years old. Shes dressed in her Army uniform and from the stories she told me I gather she was a secretary to a Army Captain and was based in Wells during the war.
And while travelling back from her parents in Essex she met my Dad on the train and it wasnt long after that she got permission from her commanding oficer to get married and guess what I came along a year later. Do you know what Ive just realised I must have got my teeth from her as mine were like that before I lost them, isnt there something you learn every day.
Sleep tight Mum and I am sure you are now happily reunited with Dad, I LOVE you and miss our Sunday morning chats and your advice, I wouldnt wish you back to suffer but I do MISS you.

Hi Shirley
I can totally understand what you are saying. My mum died some years ago now, but each May 6 I remember with such sadness, particularly for my father who is now 91, and hale and hearty still. You see it was their 50th wedding anniversary.

However, there were so many wonderful memories as well, when we had such fun together, and that is really for me - what it is all about now, and I hope that you get through this day, and the future ones with the love and happiness you share.

Big hugs
Valxx

Morning Shirley,
I'm sat at my desk at work with a trail of mascara running down my face!
I'm so sorry that you hurt today, I can only imagine how you must feel. I know you wouldn't want Mum back to suffer anymore, but that doesn't stop you missing her.
I also know your Mum must've been a wonderful woman - a kind, caring and sweet lady she must have been for she gave us YOU.
Take care Sweet

Love 'n Hugs

Gosh Shirley

I just cannot believe that a year has passed already.

It feels like only a few short months ago that you shared your sad news with us.

What an attractive woman your Mum was. Strange how we notice things about them further down the line.

My boys are now grown up and I can see bits of my Dad in them (which is lovely). My youngest son in particular has his finger nails .. .. I quite often just look at them and go back to times gone by.

But as you say, we cannot wish people to be here to suffer .. .. we have to love them enough to let them go from our lives .. .. but never from our hearts!

Take care Shirley

Love Jules xx

My mom has been gone almost 12 years and while I have to warn you, you never stop missing her, eventually the pain is stops. I don't reach out now for the phone to make a call or think, I must ask her that...
But the memories are there so be sure to write them down and scrap them for the next generation. It will be appreciated!
{{{Hugs}}} Thanks for sharing! :o)

So sorry to hear this. I know exactly how you feel, as I lost my own dear mum five years ago (and she was only 58). Sometimes something happens and I think, 'I must phone mum and tell her' especially if it was something that would have made her laugh, and then it hits you that she's not there any more. But I know my mum is in a much better place now and that's what keeps me going.

Dear Shirley, Yes, your Mum was a beautiful young woman and from the sound of it she must have left you even more beautiful memories. Hold those memories close to your heart and never let them go. I lost my Mum 5 years ago this past October and yet it still seems like yesterday. You take care, things will look up.

Bless you Shirley, I totally feel for you. Your mum was beautiful and that is such a wonderful photo offer and a perfect way to keep her memories alive.
Its been just over 30 years since I lost my mum and I keep a photo of her in my Craft room, so she is with me always. i have also just had the scrapbook page returned that was published in the magazine last month of my Dad and myself on my wedding day.. that too is going on the wall. Its our parents that made us who we are today and your made one wonderful lady … it was such a pleasure to meet you in person last week, so I know i can say that from the heart.
Thinking of you my dear
