A Girl with Attitude

Before I start I want to thank those "gorgeous girls" who leave such lovely comments on my work, THANK YOU so much you dont know how much it means to me.

Todays card is another of the new Gorguss Girl stamps from Funky Kits, this one is definately a girl with attitude, in fact it reminds me so much of my own daughters and of course granddaughters, and so I really had to have a go with this one. Ive stamped her onto white card and have again used my copic pens (Im still trying them out), Ive then cut her out with one of the Nestabilitie dies, then used another embossed pearlescent card to cut another to mount her on to. Because the stamped image is to big to fit the usual way I have moved the die around so that it will accomodate her, and then used the second layer as a mount for her.

The base card is another 8"x 8" card, but this time I have used my Martha Stewart border punch along the opening edge and stuck a piece of the embossed card behind it. Then on the base card I have mounted up onto pink card a piece of patterned card, these are mosting Red Hot Bed papers/card today, and then with a piece of pink pearlescent paper cut a strip and again used the same border punch along the edge, this was then stuck across the base card. On top of this I have layered a piece of pink card again with a second patterned paper.

The third layer I have used a glittered card and layered this up onto the embossed pink card and stuck in as a diamond on the base card, I didnt centre it this time. Then with the stamped image I stuck this onto this last layer slightly nearer the top of the card, I did put this further up the middle than the last layer. I also stuck a pink gingham ribbon along the punched out edge.

I have then used my Just-Rite stamp to stamp a greeting onto white card and with the heart dies, cut it out and layered it up with foam, this was then stuck to the left hand side at the top, and to finish of Ive used three posies that I bought or had given me, which I felt didnt over do things to much.

A Getwell Card for Lindsey

A very good friend of mine has a friend who suffers with the same complaint as herself Fibromyalgia, and she introduced me to her through our love of crafting, but I heard a couple of days ago that she wasnt to good at the moment so I thought she might enjoy receiving the card that Ive made here.

Ive used one of the new Gorguss Girls from Funky Kits, I stamped her onto a bleedproof paper with my Memories Inkpad, and then actually used my copic pens, Im still having problems with them but Im persevering with them, not sure if Im as good with these or whether Im better with my pencils, but I suppose I had better keep trying. A bit like being back at School isnt it?

Anyway Ive used the Bearly Mine designs again, and have printed 4 of the designs from my computer and layered up one for the base layer, I should have said that Ive used an A5 card this time, just a A4 piece of white card folded in half. I layered this first layer onto a teal coloured piece of pearlescent card, the second two layers are just two pieces of exactly the same size card, one pink and one green and onto these I have layered the other two pieces of patterned paper. Before sticking them to the base layer, I used the last design by firstly cutting a strip and using my Valentine Heart design Border Punch by Martha Stewart down the edge, after which I stuck this to the base layer then layered up the two pieces of card.

Ive then cut out my stamped image with one of the Label Dies from Spellbinders and used the larger one for the mount, using a piece of pink card, then I have stuck her into centre of my card with foam tape. I then stamped a greeting with my Just-Rite stamp onto a piece of white card and then using the two heart dies, cut the greeting out and the mount, these were then assembled and stuck to the card with foam tape.

To finish of the card I have used my flourish punches from EK punches and with a couple of pieces of the remaining papers punched out several pieces and stuck them along the bottom of my card, I then used some teal coloured jems to stick randomly in between the scrolls. The final embellishment is another of my flowers from my stash, and a brad with a spacer and a charm, which I have positioned to the left hand side at the top of my card.

Tilda with a Bouquet of Roses

This card would fill the Magnolia challenge this week but as I have already entered one card I thought youd like to see another of the toppers that I had coloured ready to use instead.

The stamped image is of Tilda with her bouquet of Roses, and Ive coloured her with my Karisma colouring pencils, then Ive cut her out with my rotatrim, but instead of layering up on Nestabilitie layering diecuts, I have used one of the frameability dies instead. I cut it out and then with my cats eye inkpad, Ive coloured through the dies to give it a bit more colour, then stuck the stamped image behind it.

The base card is another of the 8"x 8" cards cut from a piece of A3 card, and on this I have used a pink card with one of the Bearly Mine Designs, and used the cats eye inkpad around the edge, On top of this I have printed two more designs and cut them to two different sizes, then used my Martha Stewart border punch to create two lace strips to attach across the base card, I have stuck a piece of pink grosgrain ribbon around the two, before actually sticking it to the base layer.

Over the ribbon I have stuck my framed stamped image, Ive then used my Just-Rite stamps to stamp a circular greeting and cut this out with my circle and scallop circle Nestabilitie dies, Ive then stuck them together with foam and attached it to my card.

To finish of the card I have punched out with a further patterned paper several flourishes and stuck them across the bottom with some pink jewels stuck randomly in and out of the circles. And the last touch is the two flowers which were created from my Papermania flowers with a dovecraft brad and spacer and a charm was hung from the lower flower.

Lumas Thorn and Card for Donna

Todays card has been created from the Lumas Thorn Stamp set, they are some of the Bearly Mine Designs, http://bmd-creations.blogspot.com/ if you are interested in any of Donna's beautiful cds or even one of the last sets of the Lumas Thorn Stamps you had better go and visit her blogspot.

Ive used all three of the Elf stamps, their names are Egbert, Trump and Elvin, and with a Flower stamp from the Magnolia designs I have created a scene, masking where I needed to and creating more leaves around the stem. Ive coloured it with my Karisma Pencils and then because the design was to big to use one of the Nestabilitie dies I have cut it out with my Rotratrim, then mounted the stamped design onto a blue pearlescent card, but I have used a blue inkpad around the edge first.

The base card is again an 8"x 8" size and onto this I have layered up 3 of the papers that come with the stamps, using 3 different colours of pearlescent card to stick it to, then Ive layed the first layer straight and the other two at different angles.

Ive then stuck the stamped image into the centre of the card, and stamped a greeting from my Just-Rite stamps onto white card and cut it out with the circle Nestabilitie die and used a scalloped one for the mount and Ive stuck it on with a piece of foam. This has been positioned to the right of the stamped image, and then Ive found a butterfly and a couple of net flowers and attached them to the card, the flowers to the bottom left hand side and the butterfly on the actual stamped image.

Second Challenge Card

Todays card is the one I am going to enter for the Just Magnolia Challenge this week, colours being Pink and Green.

I have stamped an image of Tilda with Lilac's onto white card and coloured her with my Karisma pencils, Ive then used one of my Nestabilitie Label dies to punch her out and then mounted her onto another of the Label dies (punched out in dark green card).

The base card is a 8"x 8" card on top of which I have layered up for the first layer a piece of dark green card and one of the design papers from the Bearly Mine Designs, Extreme Designs Vol.1 Cd. Ive actually used three of the papers a pink patterned one for the base layer and a pale green one for the second layer, and a further patterned one for the third layer. The second layer was mounted onto another piece of dark green card, and a piece of lace was wound and stuck to the centre, Ive then positioned it at an angle across the base card.

Ive then stuck my mounted image onto a third patterned layer and positioned just of centre on the base card, then cut out some flourishes with my Nestabilitie die, and arranged them around the card and put some jems in, around and between them.

The lilac flowers were created with my punches using my Leonie Em Floral Punch Craft book and tools, then arrange at the top of the right hand side of the card. To finish of I have stamped a greeting onto white card and punched it out with the Heart Nestabilitie dies and layered it onto a piece of Pink Pearlescent card cut with the scalloped one.

My Camellia's

I stupidly hit the wrong key and nearly had a double heading for this post, luckily I discovered how to remove it. As I am out for the day I wont be posting any cards but just thought you might like to see a photo of my Camellia's unfortunately they arnt so many flowers on the tree this year, normally I have three times as many but I just thought you might like to see how gorgeous the colour is and enjoy something different.

"Look who's got two Teeth"

I thought youd like to see a photo of my husbands eldest granddaughter Danu, shes now nearly 9 months old and this week she cut her first two teeth, and by the look of the photo I think that she might just be very happy about it.

Crabing with Jack

Todays card is another of the new stamps by Janet Roberts, this one is called Jack with a Crab, and I think this card is very much a little lads card I hope you agree.

Ive stamped the image onto white card and coloured it again with my Karisma Pencils, then used one of my Nestabilitie dies to cut him out, I also used the next size up for the mount, and Ive used foam to attach the stamped image to it.

The base card is another 8"x 8" white card, and top of this I have layered up a dark blue pearlescent card with a patterned paper on top, for the second layer Ive used a plainer paper and a new EK border punch design this one is called Beach. The third layer Ive used a paler blue pearlescent card and again used the new border punch on another piece of patterned paper and stuck it across the blue card. After which I have stuck the stamped mounted image onto the middle of the card.

The stamped greeting was then cut with the tag die and mounted onto blue card and attached to the base card with brads, and to finish of Ive used a beach scene sticky back ribbon and some appropriate buttons.

Janets New Beautiful Stamps

Ive created todays card from one of Janet Roberts new beautiful stamps this one is "Gift giving Milly," you will find all Janets stamps here at http://pinkgemdesigns.blogspot.com/.

I stamped young Milly onto a piece of white card and then used my Karisma pencils to colour her, after which I have used one of the new Nestabilitie Label dies to cut her out, I have also used another of the Label dies to mount her on, for this one Ive used a Mauve Pearlscent card.

The base card is a A4 piece of card folded in half and used in landscape mode, on this I have layered up a piece of mauve card on which I have used one of the Elusive Images papers, I then used two of the papers from Pocket full of Posies for the other two layers. The first one Ive used the small heart border punch of Martha Stewart and then used another on the top, the ribbon threading one, unfortunately I have now layered up my pieces and it covers it up, but I did thread a gingham ribbon through and attached the ribbon greeting tag onto it.

The last two small layers are covered with another of the papers, and stuck at opposite corners, over these two I have stuck my stamped image, and to finish of the card Ive used some of my silk flowers by Papermania and hung a charm of one of them, Ive also used some flower centre's from Dove.

Im not sure the colours would be appropriate for a small child but Im sure an older young lady would approve, I know my mum would shes dotty on mauve and purple.

My First Challenge Card

Ive decided at last to try to make a card for a Challenge and Ive picked the Magnolia one, so I hope you like the result.

Ive chosen a Tilda stamp and stamped it onto white card and used my Karisma Pencils to colour her, after which I have cut her out completely.

The base card is an 8"x 8" size made from a piece of A3 white card, onto this I have layered Pink Pearlescent card and have used some of Michelle Marsdens papers/card. The second layer is another of her patterns with a pink ribbon wound around it, for the third layer I have used my circle Nestabilitie dies, and the last layer Ive used the same pattern paper but this time I have stamped some flourishes on it.

I stamped the greeting from one of sets and stuck this onto another piece of pink pearlescent card and with foam attached it to the bottom of my card. Ive then stuck Tilda to the card with Pinflair glue to give her a bit of height.

To finish of the card I have made two large Daisy flowers with my floral punch craft tools and stuck three jewels down the bottom left hand side.

Sweet Violets

Todays card has been created using the new Flourishes Violets Clear Stamp Set. Ive stamped the large Violet stamp onto white card and Ive used my Karisma pencils for this one today. Ive then cut it out with one of the Labels Dies from Spellbinders, Ive also used a dark piece of Purple Pearlescent card for the second die cut to mount it on, but at a different angle.

The base card is again one of the 8"x 8" cards that has been made from an A3 piece of white card, and on top of this I have layered a dark piece of pearlescent mauve card on which I have layered a purple flower patterned paper. The second layer is another of the same set of papers, but this one is more pink and Ive used my Martha Stewart border punch and then stuck it across the bottom layer. The third layer is another piece of pearlescent card, but this one is a paler mauve, but Ive put it first through my Cuttlebug with one of my embossing folders, then used the same border punch down the edges. This time Ive layered it down the centre of the front, but I firstly put a piece of wide mauve organza ribbon sticking it to the back.

Ive then positioned the stamped mounted layer in the centre over the ribbon on foam, and stamped a greeting from the same set of stamps, then again used a ribbon tag die to cut it out, I mounted this onto another piece of the darker pearlescent card, stuck two brads through the holes and either end and attached below the stamped image with foam.

To finish of the card Ive made three silk flowers and attached a dragonfly charm to the bottom one on jump rings, and stuck three heart jewels to the left handside.

Sarahs New Program

Before I forget, my friend Sarah Hallam of Peerless Designs, will be back on Create and Craft on Wednesday April 22nd at 11am with her new Cd "The Secret Garden", unfortunately because of ill health on the 7th the program was cancelled half way through. So keep your fingers crossed that all goes well for her, as poor thing she's actually suffering with a tooth abcess, I just hope that this time she manages to see the program through. Good Luck Sarah we will be rooting for you.

My Prince Charming

Well Ive had another attempt with the Copic Pens, it seems I even encouraged Poppy to try hers again, then stupidly missed that in her post, sorry Poppy I dont how it happened but you did do a brilliant job with them.

Anyway the images I have chosen this time are two Whiff of Joy Medival stamps, Charlie and the Horse. I tried several ways of trying to mask one or the other so that I could actually sit Charlie on the horse but unfortunately I just couldnt get him positioned in the right place, so I chickened out and actually stamped them onto card and coloured them with my copic pens, (Im still rather nervous of using them), and afterwards I cut them both out completely. Ive then positioned Charlie on the horse and stuck him on then arranged him on the main square mount. I then tried not very successfully to put a shadow under the hooves, but it looks a bit cloudy to me and rather heavy, sorry about that.

The base card is another of my now infamous 8"x 8" cards created from a A3 piece of card, I used a brown card for all my mounts this time and two Elusive Images papers, that I arrived with my Guild membership, but you can print them off from one of Artylicious Cds, I cannot say which one it is at the moment.

I actually used one of my flourish stamps with Sepia Versafine inkpad to stamp around the edge of all the mounts, and along the edges. I have stuck the centre mount across the first one and the stamped Image I have put in the centre. The greeting was another of Just-Rite stamps and then cut out with the Oval Nestabilitie die, and for the second mount Ive used a Scalloped one.

To finish of the card Ive used a multi brown layered flower with a brad in the centre and a brown button stuck on top, Ive actually threaded a bit of brown ribbon through and tied a knot, and the last thing Ive done is stuck three clear jewels to the top on the left hand side.

You will be then in with a chance of winning one of the sets of the new Summer Kit stamps. Good Luck to you all.

A Card for the New Granddad

I made this card to give to my hubby on the arrival of Seraphie Ann this week, I just thought I would make him feel a bit more part of all the celebrations. And guess what he was thrilled with it and has it on display on his desk where he works. My hubby is such a sweetheart and I know he would have liked to have gone to visit his new family addition but unfortunately hes working this weekend and wasnt able to, so thought this might cheer him up a bit.

I used another of the Sugar Nellie stamps from Funky Kits, its one of the Little Cotton Rabbits I felt this one was quite appropriate, onto white card and coloured it with my Karisma pencils, then cut it out completely. The chair is one of the Whiff of Joy stamps and this was also coloured with my Karisma pencils and cut out completely, I then stuck the Rabbits onto the chair.

The base card is an A4 piece of white card folded in half, I printed onto semi-gloss photo paper the Cute Companions image and cut it down to fit onto a piece of pink Pearlescent card, then stuck this to the base card leaving enough room on the right hand side to put a greeting. This was done by using my computer to create a vertical greeting, then printed again onto photo paper, cut out and mounted onto a strip of pink pearlescent card.

I then stuck the rabbits onto this image, then used a clear varnish to paint over them to make them shine like the photo paper. The greeting was then stuck to the card on the right.

I want to thank all of you who left me such lovely comments yesterday after my first attempt with the Copic pens, I appreciate that a lot, its very scary when you try something new and it was certainly for me, so THANK YOU.

My first Copic Colouring Attempt

Well I thought it was about time I attemped to use my Copic Pens, Ive had them for awhile but been to wary of trying them out, anyway I have and I hope that you think Ive made a passable card with them.

The images I have chosen to try this on are two of the Tilda stamps, Edwin and the Swing, of course I first stamped him onto a piece of Letraset Bleedproof Marker Pad with my Memories Inkpad (this is the only one you can use with the Copic Pens), and then onto a piece of spare paper to allow me to cut him out for a mask. This done I placed it over Edwin and stamped in the Swing. Ive then used Rach's Tutorial to help guide me through colouring him, though I probably havent really mastered the nack of really doing it yet, I think Ive got a reasonable result.

The base card is again a 8" x 8" card from a piece of A3 card, and on top of this I have placed a piece of light blue pearlescent card, which I have covered with a piece of patterned paper, I have used one of my Distress Inkpads around the edge to try and make it a bit more aged. On top of this I have created two more mounts from different blue cards, covered with patterned papers and again Ive used the distressed inkpads just to take away the sharp edges on them. Ive then stuck them onto the base card at angles.

Unfortunately I dont have a Nestabilitie die big enough to use to cut out the stamped image so Ive had to cut it out with my Rotatrim, then stuck this onto piece of dark blue card, then with foam I have mounted it onto the base card. For the greeting I have used one of my Just-Rite stamps and punched this out with the circle die, then mounted this onto two sizes of scalloped edged pieces of card, after which Ive used foam to mount this also onto the card.

To finish of the card Ive cut out several flourishes with my EK Success punches to arrange and stick around the card, and the last thing Ive done is stuck a cat button on the left hand bottom side.

For all those Girls who like to Shop

Todays card again has been created from one of the new Elizabeth Bell stamps from Funky Kits, this one is The Shopaholic, so I dedicating to all us crafty girls who spend a fortune of our craft.

I stamped my image again onto white card and I went back to my Karisma pencils for this one, I find them a lot easier to use, then I cut her out to the size that would fit behind my Polka Dot Frame. This is one of the new Nestabilitie dies from Spellbinders, I used my cats eye inkpad to colour the spots through the stencil.

The base card is a A4 piece of white card folded in half, and on top I have layered up a piece of red card with a patterned paper from one of Anice's Funky Cds, which I printed from my computer. The mounts in the centre were again another of Anice's papers, but this time I have used one of my Martha Stewart border punches, on top of this I have used another piece of red card and one more of Anice's papers, this one I thought was quite appropriate with the handbags on. I should have said I used a red marker pen around the edges of all the papers just to define the edge.

I then stuck the stamped image behind the Polka Dot Frame and with foam attached it to the base card. The greeting is one of Little Clare's stamps that Ive stamped again onto white card and punched out with the red card one of the Nestabilitie tag dies, then I trimmed the white card down to fit on top of the red one, I have used black brads through the holes as decoration, and stuck this to the card again with foam. To finish of the card Ive put together two silk flowers from my Crafty Stash with a jewel brad in the centre and hung a bag charm from the back of one, on some jump rings.

I also want to thank you for all the lovely comments on our new Granddaugher, unfortuantely it maybe awhile before we get to see her, as she lives in Kent and we live in Gloucestershire and my poor husband is on call this weekend anyway, which is a great shame. But I expect being a first time mum, she will be trying to cope with being a mum and perhaps trying to catch up on some sleep and a new routine.

Daisy on her Bike

Todays card is another of the new Elizabeth Bell stamps from Funky Kits, this one is Daisy on her bike. I have stamped her onto white card and this time Ive used my Faber-Castell colouring pencils, they arnt quite so waxy and harder to blend, but I like the end result so it couldnt have been to difficult.

The base card is again made with the A3 card and cut to the 8"x 8" size, and I have used all shades of mauve for this card, the first layer is a pearlescent card, and I have used the same one for the Scalloped Octagon Die cut that the stamped image is mounted on, and the tag, which again Ive used the Spellbinders dies with.

On this first layer I have put one of the Papermania papers, this one is a flower patterned paper. For the second mount Ive used a mirra card and a spotted paper from the same set of papers. The third layer is another piece of the pearlescent card on top of which I have put a Daisy paper that I found amoung my stash, I think it must have come from one of my magazines, but I thought it went well with the stamps.

Before layering up the third layer, I have used one of my Martha Stewart punches on a piece of pearlescent paper and then put it on top, but Ive also stuck a piece of beaded fringing which I thought went well. Then the whole thing was stuck on the base card.

I then mounted my cut out stamped image onto the scallop mount with foam, and again Ive used more foam to stick it over the beaded fringing. The greeting was one of my stamps from Stamp Tapestry clear greeting set, and then mounted on the cut out tag, Ive used my punch and made a hole for the satin ribbon which was then threaded through. To finish of the card Ive made up a silk flower and hung one of my heart beads with jump rings on the centre brad and stuck three flower jewels on the top right hand side.

Sam's Birthday Card

Hi everyone, hope youve all had a nice Easter, mind was quiet though my hubby was busy visiting his family, and trying to catch up with all their news.

Todays card is one of the Elizabeth Bell stamps from Funky Kits, this one is Daisy and her Pram. Ive stamped Daisy onto white card and coloured her with my Karisma Prisma Colouring Pencils, then cut her out with one of the new Nestabilitie Dies. I have also used it for the her mount, this was a piece of green Pearlescent card run through my Cuttlebug with the Heart Folder. Ive also used it to punch out some of the new Flourish Accents from Spellbinders.

The base card is a A3 piece of white card cut down to a 8"x 8" size, and then I have layered it up in the following manner. The first layer is a pale green card on top of which I have layered a green patterend paper. The second layer is pink Pearlescent card on which I have positioned 4 pieces of pattered paper. I then punched out with my Martha Stewart punch a piece of ribbon with pink pearlescent paper to which I have stuck a pink with green spots ribbon, this was then stuck around this second layer, and then stuck to the base card.

I have then punched out with a Octagon Scallop Die another mount of dark green pearlescent paper, a layer on top of which I have stuck the stamped image and top mount, putting them at opposite angles.

To finish of the card I have stuck the flourish accents around the card, with little flower jewels in between them, and made up a flower with a charm for the bottom left hand corner. The greeting was then printed of from my computer and mounted on a further piece of pink pearlescent card and stuck onto the card at the botton, and just to finish this of I have stuck a further flower jewel on to it.

A Very Happy Easter to You All

Todays card is one that Ive created from firstly a design on the Cute Companions Cd by Crafters Companion, and a Funky Kits, Sugar Nellie Stamp, its one of the Little Cotton Rabbits, as its Easter I felt that it was quite appropriate.

I stamped the image onto white card and coloured it with my Karisma Prisma Colouring Pencils, then I cut it out. The base card is a piece of A4 white card folded in half, and on top I have stuck a Pale Green Pearlescent Card, and then the image from the Cute Companions Cd. I actually printed it onto Photo Paper to make it stand out a bit more as on card is was a bit pale.

I then folded a piece of A4 Acetate in half and attach the two pieces together with some green Organza Ribbon on the spine.

To add a bit extra to it I have punched out some pink and yellow flowers, cupped them and stuck them on the tree and around the roots of the tree. Ive then stuck the Rabbit image onto the Acetate, and with a little piece of green ribbon left from the piece Id used for attaching the card together, made a knot and cut it to look like a ribbon, then attached it on the little rabbits head. To finish of the card Ive printed a greeting from one of Joanna Sheens Cds, but I put my own greeting on it and cut it out and stuck in onto the Acetate.

Im not going to be posting any cards till Tuesday now as I would like a bit of break for a few days, Ive no doubt a few of you will be doing the same, but I do want to wish you all a very Happy Easter and I will be back again next week.

A Very Happy Easter to You All, and a Thank You Card

Todays card is my way of thanking all my very special friends who I dont personnally know but feel that I do, like Rach, Sue, Bev, Julie, Poppy, Saskia, Enfys, Reit, Ria, Andrea, Marcea, Rozzy, Elizabeth, Carol D, Mandy, Janet, Debby, Linnie, Denise, Linda, Chris, Clairebelle, Debby, Marlene, Claudia and anyone else Ive forgotten and anyone who's visiting for the first time THANK YOU, I carnt give you all an award so this to me is the next best thing.

The card is a A4 piece of white card folded in half, for the first layer I have put a piece of Mauve pearlescent card, on top of this I have put a lighter piece of mauve pearlescent card on which I have used my roller stamp and a multi coloured inkpad. The third layer is another piece of mauve pearlescent paper on which I have used a Martha Stewart border punch.

Down the centre I have layered another piece of the lighter mauve pearlescent card, and the last layer Ive used an even darker piece of mauve card but this one is a matt one. The heart image was one of my Impression Obsession Stamps which I have used with the multi coloured inkpad, and then punched it out with my Heart Nestabilitie Die, and then the Scalloped one for the mount.

Ive then mounted this heart with foam onto the centre card positioned at the top, and stamped a Flourishes greetings onto a piece of white card with again the multi coloured inkpad, this I have cut out and mounted this onto some mauve pearlescent card, then positioned this below the heart at the bottom.

To finish of the card I have used a ribbon across the centre and made up a Multi Mauve flower with a silver spacer and pearl brad, and for an extra flourish I have used a heart bead on some jump rings and attached it to the brad, this was then stuck to the card at the top left hand side.
If you would like to know what the words say its, "Friendship is Precious not only in the shade, best in the Sunshine of Life" thank you so much for your continued support and I would also like to wish you all a very Happy Easter as well.

A Birthday Card for Sarah

After chatting to Sarah about her program yesterday it seems she will be actually on air on her birthday so I thought Id better get my fingers out and make her a birthday card especially from her new Cd, so I hope you will forgive me for using an easy way out this time, no stamping and definately no colouring.

Ive used Sarahs favourite design on her cd, the Poppy, and this time I have used the decoupage sheets though I did adapt it to fit the size card Ive made, what Ive done is to cut the picture edge off the first layer and just use the oval design in the centre.

I printed two background designs, one for the insert on paper and printed a verse on to that, and the other design I printed onto white card and printable acetate, then matched it up with the card design. After which I folded them both in half and with the insert in place, punched holes for the ribbon, I used a Red Organza ribbon to attach them together.

After cutting away the white edges left after putting all the pieces together, I have stuck the base decoupage sheet onto the acetate sheet and built up the image with Pinflair glue, shaping it as I went. The greeting was printed onto photo paper and layered up onto a piece of red card, I didnt want to put it on the acetate top, so stuck it to the printed card under the acetate in the right hand bottom corner.

Another of my Pencil Drawings

I must apologise for not making a card today, Ive spent most of the day in bed, it seems I have caught some sort of tummy upset, anyway I thought you might like to see another of my pencil drawings this one is of Gladiolus's that I drew in 1990 while I was studying for my A level Art Exam.

I also have an apology to make on behalf of my friend Sarah Hallam if you watched her program this morning, I believe that she was taken ill and had to leave the show early, it looked as though Nigel was trying to bluff himself through in the hope that she would be able to carry on, as I havent heard directly from her I can only surmise that this is what happened, which is a terrible shame though I did get to see my samples being shown, hope you did to.

Sarahs New Craft Cd Secret Garden

I forgot to remind you that my friend Sarah Hallam of Peerless Designs, is going to be on Create and Craft, Sky Channel 671 at 9am tomorrow morning with her new Craft Cd Secret Garden, you will remember that I had the honour of making 6 samples for her to use on the show.

I thought I would give you a surprise and show you the original drawing of the Rose that Sarah has used for her design on the new Cd. The second photo is one of the papers Sarah created from my drawing, I hope that you will be watching and enjoying her show, and wishing her good luck.

Karens Easter Card

Todays card has been specially made for a very special friend of mine, and I wanted to give her something a bit special.

I have stamped my images by firstly stamping Tilda and making a mask of her, then stamping the little cart afterwards. Ive then coloured her in my usual way with my Karisma colouring pencils, afterwards I have used my new Deckle Edged Nestabilitie Dies for both the stamped image and the mount.

The base card is a piece of A3 card cut to a 8" x 8" size, Ive then put a piece of green pearlescent card as the first mount, and used My Craft Studio program to make up the first patterned paper to fit this first mount as it was only a small piece of paper (from one of my magazines) originally. On top of this I have used another of the patterned papers and my Martha Stewart Border punch, over this I have layed another piece of yellow pearlescent card, and around this I have wound and stuck two colours of Organza ribbons, green and yellow, (unfortunately its not so easy to see the yellow one in this photo). I then stuck these on top of the punched patterned paper down the centre of the base card.

I mounted the stamped image with foam tape, to raise it a bit of the ribbons, and punched out with the smaller deckle edged dies the two pieces for the greeting, I have had to use a peeloff as it was the only thing that was small enough to fit. This was then mounted with foam tape below the stamped image to the right hand side at the bottom.

I punched out with my two EK punches the flourishes from another patterned paper, and arranged them down the two side edges of the front, but before sticking them down I made up two silk flowers and stuck these to the top on the left hand side. The flourishes were then stuck down, and some pearls were stuck randomly down in and out of the flourish curves.

My Magnolia Stella Bush

I sorry I havent had time to create a card today as Ive been food shopping it always takes my husband and I several hours to do it and then sort it out and put it away, and of course theres dinner to make as well.

Actually we always go to Cardiff and its a good 80 miles around trip, luckily we only go once a month so dont have to worry about it to often, and anything I run out of I can get locally. I must admit I find food shopping a chore so I am relieved we only go once a month, and although my hubby doesnt enjoy shopping, I tell him he eats it he can help me buy it and bring it home, as I dont have a car of my own.

Now getting back to my Magnolia, I took the photo on Friday when it was a beautiful day, but last night we had some frost so Im not sure how long its going to look as lovely as it is in the photo. Anyway hopefully I will be back to posting a card tomorrow or if not on Tuesday.

A Card for our New Granddaughter

Todays card has been made to celebrate the coming birth of our new Granddaughter, she is due any day now so I thought it was time to prepare ourselves and to be ready for the big event.

I have used one of Janet Roberts new stamps, to be honest I have used both the girl stamps, the second one Ive used on the inside but I havent taken a photo of that so you will have to excuse me for that one. Janet creates the most gorgeous designs and I absolutely love them and thought when I first saw it on her website that this is exactly what I needed to make a new baby card, you will find all her beautiful stamps at http://pinkgem-janet.blogspot.com/ she even has a blogcandy offer as well on the new ones.

Anyway I have stamped the image onto white card and coloured it with my Karisma colouring pencils, I also stamped an extra head to decoupage on top. Once Id done this I cut it out with one of my Nestabilitie Label Dies, and used a piece of Pink Pearlescent Card for the larger one Ive mounted it onto.

The base card is a A3 piece of white card cut to a 8"x8" size, and on top of this I have layered the Pink Pearlescent card and the of the patterned papers Ive used, I actually printed these out from one of my craft cds. Then for the second layer I have used my Martha Stewart border punch on another piece of Pink Pearlescent card and the second of the backing papers, the pearlescent card being the top layer and used a wide Pink Organza ribbon around the two, then stuck it to the base card.

Ive then stuck my mounted image on top of this with some foam tape. The stamped greeting is one of the Just-Rite oval stamps which I have done again onto white card and cut this out with my Oval Nestabilitie die, this also was stuck to the card with foam.

To finish of the card I have created some large multi flowers and with a pearl brad have attached them to the top right and bottom left of my card, but to add just a little something more on the bottom one I have used a Heart Jewel that I bought while at the NEC this year, I thought she could use it when she was older as a necklace maybe. The last little touch was the three pink heart buttons with a piece of ribbon threaded threw the holes and tied off.

The Young Artist

Firstly I want to thank all those lovely people who left such lovely comments yesterday, Ive not heard as yet from my daughter so I have no idea if Ive been forgiven for not sending her an Easter Card but I will definately keep you informed when or if I do. I didnt think that she would want one but it just goes to show that when mums make cards they do.

Anyway todays card has been made again with one of the Sugar Nellie Home Grown stamps, this one is the Young Artist, it reminds me so much of when I had two of my grandchildren staying when they were quite small, we made some handprint paintings, which I still have stuck up in my wardrobe. Thomas was then about 4 and hes now coming 16 and Chloe was 2 and shes coming 14 so how times flies but their little hands are trapped in the paintings.

Anyway I have again stamped the image onto white card and with my usual Karisma pencils I have coloured it, then cut it out with my Rectangle Nestabilitie Die, Ive then mounted it onto two citrus shades of card, but this time I have cut them out rather than use my dies as I wanted the edge to be a lot smaller.

Ive folded an A4 piece of white card in half and then turned it to the landscape side and layered it up with a piece of Orange Card and a patterned paper, on top of this I have layered another piece of Orange Card and a plainer paper, then the third layer is another patterned paper put this time I have used two different coloured cards, yellow and orange to layer it up.

I have then positioned my stamped image to the bottom right hand corner, and stamped a greeting onto white card with my Just-Rite stamps and cut this out with my Circle Nestabilitie Die, and used the Scalloped edged ones for the two outer mounts, Ive offset them to give it more sparkle and mounted them with foam onto the base card.

To finish of the card Ive again used some buttons and positioned them to the bottom left hand side and two stars at the top on the right.

Easter Card for Sarah

I should really be saying sorry to my daughter as I posted cards to my grandchildren but not to her, and I got into terrible trouble for not doing so, Ive been out this morning to post the above card of to her, so Im hoping she will forgive me for being so remiss.

Ive used two of the Magnolia images to make this card the large Egg and Tilda, I stamped both images onto white card by masking of Tilda and then used my Karisma pencils to colour them both. I know a lot of my followers use the prisma pencils so I will give you a tip that was taught to me, you have to build up the layers of colour by crosshatching them, I usually use a very light one first then the darker ones on top. I know a lot of you use the Sansdor solvent afterwards, but I dont mainly because I think it makes it darker but I find if I need to blend colours I use the blender pencil instead.

I then cut the image out with my Nestabilitie die, and actually cut around edge and used the same die again for the image to mounted on, as the next size was a to big a gap. The base card is another made with a A3 piece of card then cut to 8.1/2"x 8" size, onto this I have put a mount of green pearlescent card over which I have layered a piece of pattered paper, all these papers were taken from one of my magazines.

The second layer is a patterned one but this time I have used my small heart Martha Stewart border punch and layered it down the centre of the card, on top of this I have put a further mount with another patterned paper on, I actually used a cats eye inkpad to run around the edge. The stamped image was then mounted onto this centre piece with a small one made in the same way for the greeting positioned below, Im afraid I cheated and used a peeloff on this as I didnt think I had a stamp small enough to fit in.

To finish of the card I have made up two silk flowers from my Craft Stash, with jewel brads for the centres.

Boy Blue

Todays card has been created with one of the Home Grown stamps of Sugar Nellie, Funky Kits. I love this little lad with his dog and have used the image for a birthday card for another of my family.

I started by stamping the image again onto white card and coloured it with my Karisma Prisma Colouring Pencils, I have been getting some lovely comments about these pencils and should tell you that I bought them over 10 years ago while I was doing a A level Art course at the local college. I have seen that they are now not called by that name but are actually the same as the Prisma Colouring Pencils under a different name, you will find them beautiful pencils to use they are creamy if you could call them that but they are so easy to use and can be blended very easily with either the Sansdor solvent or even just with a blending pencil, to be honest I dont use either as a rule but occassionally I do use the blending pencil.

The base card is an A3 piece of white card cut to a 8.1/2"x 6" size, Ive then used 3 designs from Anice's Funky Cds. and layered them onto two different colours of card. Then Ive cut out the stamped image with my Nestabilitie die and used another piece of the blue card with the Scalloped die and layered it up. Then Ive stuck it to the base card.

Before actually sticking all the layers to the base card I stamped a greeting onto a piece of the blue card then run my black ink pad around the edge. To finish of the card Ive used several dog buttons at different places just to make it more boyish.
