A Getwell Card for Lindsey

A very good friend of mine has a friend who suffers with the same complaint as herself Fibromyalgia, and she introduced me to her through our love of crafting, but I heard a couple of days ago that she wasnt to good at the moment so I thought she might enjoy receiving the card that Ive made here.

Ive used one of the new Gorguss Girls from Funky Kits, I stamped her onto a bleedproof paper with my Memories Inkpad, and then actually used my copic pens, Im still having problems with them but Im persevering with them, not sure if Im as good with these or whether Im better with my pencils, but I suppose I had better keep trying. A bit like being back at School isnt it?

Anyway Ive used the Bearly Mine designs again, and have printed 4 of the designs from my computer and layered up one for the base layer, I should have said that Ive used an A5 card this time, just a A4 piece of white card folded in half. I layered this first layer onto a teal coloured piece of pearlescent card, the second two layers are just two pieces of exactly the same size card, one pink and one green and onto these I have layered the other two pieces of patterned paper. Before sticking them to the base layer, I used the last design by firstly cutting a strip and using my Valentine Heart design Border Punch by Martha Stewart down the edge, after which I stuck this to the base layer then layered up the two pieces of card.

Ive then cut out my stamped image with one of the Label Dies from Spellbinders and used the larger one for the mount, using a piece of pink card, then I have stuck her into centre of my card with foam tape. I then stamped a greeting with my Just-Rite stamp onto a piece of white card and then using the two heart dies, cut the greeting out and the mount, these were then assembled and stuck to the card with foam tape.

To finish of the card I have used my flourish punches from EK punches and with a couple of pieces of the remaining papers punched out several pieces and stuck them along the bottom of my card, I then used some teal coloured jems to stick randomly in between the scrolls. The final embellishment is another of my flowers from my stash, and a brad with a spacer and a charm, which I have positioned to the left hand side at the top of my card.

as for the copics verses pencils. they are two totally different mediums so your going to get two different looks.. keep persevering with your pens though hun cause you do colour beautifully with them.. it does take a while to get used to how they work.. took me ages.. and i nearly gave up.. lol..

Hi Shirley, firstly I must say that the card you sent me was absolutley FANTASTIC!!To say I loved it is an understatement as not only was it such a pretty card it was so kind and thoughtful of you to send me a card, a real shock, but a wonderful one as it arrived the day after I got home from being in hospital that week! So a great pick me up that brought a tear to me as it was just so thoughtful and nice of you. Your tecniques were wonderful - Iv not tried or got any of the pens - yet!! Iv actually made a card for you telling you all about the probs at the mo, but Iv lost your addy so will get it off our wonderful fantastic friend that brought us together!! I will try and get it off to you this week, but as our wonderful friend will tell you, Im a bit of a scatterbrain at the moment for remembering to do things, and getting hubby to then post for me. Its a nightmare relying on others all the time but I am also very very lucky that Iv got the best hubby in the world!! It really has taken me this long to get onto my computer to thank you personally, and Im so sorry about that, but I do know our wonderful friend passed on a message didnt she! Im very lucky to have been introduced to you, and even more lucky to have recieved that wonderful card, a HUGE Thankyou Shirley! Lots of love Lindsey xxx ps, would also like to donate a few cards to you for the MS appeal if its still running?? Let me know, yeh?? Thanks,xx
