Challenge #19 - Cards for Men - "Going Digital"

Wow its been awhile since we had a challenge over at Cards for Men, weve been taking a summer break to give us time to recoup ourselves and to spend a bit of time with our families, but now they are back at School again we thought it was high time we got ourselves into gear and started the Challenge blog again so for this fortnight we are being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique

And we were lucky enough to receive a couple of images to play with and I chose this one for my card.

 

I have used this fabulous desk image and coloured it with my copic pens, then cut it out with my rotatrim, and created a mount with some brown card, the sentiment is one I created on my computer and printed it and mounted it in the same way as the image.

The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of brown card and the papers are from Sweetshoppe Digi Downloads and its called "School Rules", I have used three different ones and layered them up on some more brown card. To finish of I have used a couple of pencil buttons in opposite corners.

Challenge #51 - Bearlymine Designs Challenge - "Anything but a Card"

Good Morning Crafters, I dont know where the time goes the weeks are whizzing by and Ive no doubt most of the children have gone back to School this week after the long summer holiday, not that its been a very nice one as far as the weather has gone. Anyway to cheer you up its yet another challenge over on the Bearlymine Designs Challenge Blogspot, and for this we want to see "Anything but a Card" so I do hope you will get your thinking caps on a start creating some stunning projects.
And for this challenge The Paper Shelter is sponsoring us and they are offering a prize of :-

To spend on their website, and if I was wearing my other hat I would be tell you that these images are quite stunning and extremely good value, so its worth a trip just to browse and you will find it here.
And now for my project I created this box.

And for my papers I have used a Donna's beautiful "Roses Dream" and you will find them here, I printed two sheets and used one for around the sides, and the top I used the other one. I then attached the lace around the edge of the top by pleating it along some strong glue tape, and on top I used a velvet ribbon and tied the ends into a bow in the front.
The image I have used is The Paper Shelters "Dew Drops" and you will her here, I printed her onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens, then used a large tag die to cut her out and then distressed the edge with some a lilac inkpad.
I then positioned it on the top and created a flower spray in the top right hand corner with some flowers in several sizes. I also created some smaller images to pop around the edge of the bottom of the box.

A Card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge

Good Afternoon Everyone, again I have been very slow posting a card, Ive sort of lost my mojo I find I really not in the mood for card making, last week I was asked to make samples and that motivated me to work but this week I really not in the least finding the urge to get myself into gear. Maybe it was because so much went wrong last week that I was so wrapped up with the stress of that, that my mojo went of for a holiday. Anyway I did get around to creating this card today its for the Sugar Bowl Sketch Challenge and for the Sugary Sunday one on Facebook. Its one of Funky Kits gorgeous mermaids and I stamped her onto white card before using my copic pens to colour her. I also put some glitter on the tails of both the mermaid and the seahorse.
I then cut her out with a large rectangle die from Spellbinders and the two papers are from one of the Maya paper packs, I used the darker blue paper for my first mount and distressed the edge of it, I then used a lighter on on the other mount and distressed the edge for that one to.
Ive created the card as the sketch required and then used three buttons with bakers twine tied in knots in the holes and a seahorse charm on the side.

The Paper Shelters #79th Challenge - "Layers on Layers"

Good Morning Everyone, it seems along time since I actually wrote up a full post but its only two weeks since I did but so much has happened it makes it seem longer. This post is for The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and for this we want to see your cards with lots of layers, Im sure it wont be a problem as we do that more often than not dont we?
But before I show you my card I want to tell you that as always our sponsors are Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter and they are offering you a prize of $30. (Yes an even bigger prize) to spend on their website

but this is providing you have used one of their products on your card, they sell some stunning images and beautiful papers plus complimentary things as well. But even if you dont use one of their images they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice if your picked by random org, so really you just cannot loose with this challenge can you.
And here is my card created for this "Layers on Layers" Challengs.

And for my image I have used "Dew Drops" and you will find it here, Ive printed the gorgeous image onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens, afterwards I used Nestabilitie Label Die No.17 to cut it out then drew around the die to create the mount.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount I have used blue card and then for my papers I have used "Sophie in the Country" and you will find them here, I cut them into layers and with a Martha Stewart border punch I have punched all the edges and then layered it up the card from the bottom. Across the top I have wrapped a blue gingham ribbon and stuck it at the back of the first mount.
The mounted image was then positioned in the middle, and with some of the left over papers I used a rolled flower die to create the flowers that have been stuck to the top of the card in the left hand corner, these were stuck to the card with silicone glue on top of the diecut leaves. The final thing is the sentiment which I googled and then printed it and mounted it onto another piece of blue card and stuck in the bottom right hand corner.

A Card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge

Good Morning, it seems so long since I actually created a card with these images and because we have a weekly challenge on Facebook for "Sundays with Santa" I thought I would incorporate it with the "Sugary Sunday" and "Sugar Bowl" Challenges, so heres the result.
Ive used this sweet image from Funky Kits and coloured it with my copic pens then used Nestabilitie Die No.7 to cut it out, afterwards I used the die to draw around to create a mount for it. The sentiment is one that I had in my stash.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white easel card, and the first mounts are red card and the backing papers are from the new Wild Rose Studio Christmas Pack, they are gorgeous the ones I have used are white backgrounds and decorative bauble designs on. I have created the inside identical to the outside and placed my mounted image towards the left. I have placed the sentiment at the bottom on the left and used Card Candi (chipboard) in the spots.

My 5th Sample for Sarah

 

Good Morning Everyone, well I dont know about you but its been raining here again this morning, though at the moment its stopped and the sun is trying to come out. This is the last sample for this blog I will also put Sample No.6 on my No.2 blog in a moment so if you would like to see it you will find it here I do hope that you will, its something different. 

This CD has been great fun to play with, its all about a hedgehogs Garden Adventure and the papers, images and design sets are just gorgeous. Sarah has  preview programs on Create and Craft next Tuesday so I do hope you will keep an eye out for them, as Ive been away from my computer for a week Im missed out on letting you know the times so I do hope you will browse and see when they are likely to be aired as the CDs are certainly gorgeous.

I have enjoyed making these samples as the papers are so brightly coloured and the images are just gorgeous I hope you think so to. Sarah has a program on Create and Craft on Tuesday 28th but Im not sure if she will be promoting this cd, you will have to look to find out.

First Sample for Sarah Hallam's New CD

Good Morning Everyone, it seems ages since I wrote up a post, but as you can see its been a busy couple of weeks and the worst of it is, it isnt likely to finish anytime soon. Firstly the wedding was fabulous and no doubt youve seen the photos further down my blog, and the grandsons enjoyed their week to though the weather wasnt at all kind to them and they got soaked on more than one occassion.
But the worst of it is my brand new desk top computer has decided to play up and hubby is having one hell of a time to try and sort it out, it just keeps falling over, and as I use it all the time its a real pain, and trying to set up a back up one is causing me no end of problems. You know what its like when you get used to your programes trying to use others is not easy. And the final thing is my poor dog is not at all well, we picked her up on Monday to discover that she had been sick the day before, but she seemed ok and pleased to see us although extremely tired. Anyway Tuesday she starting having problems the other end, and then yesterday morning I made a appointment with the vets but couldnt get her down there till the afternoon and by then she was passing blood, so you can image what was going through my mind. It seems she has a bile infection (liver) and is passing toxins through her, shes still rather poorly this morning but we at least had a full nights sleep though her motions are still rather loose this morning, all we can do is hope that the infection clears quickly through her.
Anyway now that youve heard why Ive not been around for nearly 2 weeks I hope you will forgive me, and now todays card has been created for my dear friend Sarah Hallam of Peerless Designs, she has a brand new CD due out very shortly, its called "Hedgehogs Garden Adventure" I will scan the label in later so that I can show you the CD cover at the moment Ive not got it to hand because of the problems with my computer (luckily I had uploaded my photos to facebook so was able to retrieve them from there) and as you can see from the photo above how gorgeous this little character is.
The CD has lots of similar designs on it, with complimentary papers, Digi Stamps, Note Papers, Tags and Bookmarks, Innie and Outie Stacking Decoupage sheets and Inserts and Envelopes plus a bonus cutting SVG and DXF files to.
I do hope you will keep an eye open for this new CD and when I know its release date I will inform you.

Challenge #49 - Bearlymine Designs - "Anything Goes"

Good Morning Everyone, today is the 49th Challenge over on Bearlymine Designs Challenge Blogspot and for this one its going to be a busy week as its your favourite "Anything Goes" I do hope that you will also go and visit Donna's website Bearly Mine Designs as she does have some really beautiful papers for you and they are extremely reasonable priced to.
Anyway back to this weeks Challenge and for this one we are being sponsored by "Fred She Said"

And now here is my card for this Challenge.

And I have chosen to use "Emma and Rosey" for my image and you will find it here on the "Fred She Said" website. I coloured her with my copic pens and then cut her out with Nestabilitie Die No.1 and used a larger one for the mount. The sentiment is one from my stash and has been treated in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of lilac card, and on this I have used a lilac background paper with a roses design on it, this is one of the Bearlymine design papers and you will find it here its called "Roses Dreams", I have also used a second one in yellow and a Cheery Lynn Doily die and then placed it on top of the first layer, the mounted image was then placed in the center. I then used my Memory Box fence and gate dies to create the front and then placed my sentiment on top  of this at the bottom on the right hand side.
To finish of I have used some of the left over paper to create several flowers with punches and layered them up with a pearl brad in the center of them, I then placed them in the top left hand corner on top of some punched out leaves.

Poor Missy

We picked up our dog Missy from the Breeders (wheres shes been while we attended my grandsons wedding) an hour ago, and it always shatters her, and now shes sleeping it of, Ive no doubt she enjoyed herself with the rest of her doggy family but it always leaves her so tired.

Why Ive been missing

As you will probably remember I have been saying for a while that I would be attending my eldest grandsons wedding, and yesterday was the big day.

Here I am with two of my daughters Karen, Andrews mum and Sarah, the weather was a fabulously hot day thank goodness, and believe me is was boiling in the church. But it all turned out beautifully and everyone had a wonderful day.

And here is Andrew with his beautiful wife Laura and his mum Karen on the left and Sarah on the right. I was so proud of them all, as you can see my grandson is in the Airforce so I hope you will understand why I can't give you to much personal information.

Good Morning Crafters, this post has been scheduled as I have my two grandsons staying with me at the moment and Im banned from my craft room and Im having to use my hubbys computer to write up the Challenge, just hope it all goes to plan. Im also hoping we have some lovely weather this coming Saturday as my eldest grandson is due to get married, I hope you will keep your fingers crossed for me.
Anyway todays card has been created for the new Challenge "Clean and Simple" but before I show you the card I want to let you know who our very generous and talented sponsers are, and they are Veronica and Pedro from The Paper Shelter and they are offering you a prize of $20.

The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of white pearlescent card thats been run through the cuttlebug and a large daisy embossing folder, then around the middle I have put a white organza ribbon thats been attached to the back of the first mount.
The mounted image was then positioned in the middle and the sentiment which is one from my stash has been positioned in the bottom right hand corner.

A Card for Sunday with Santa and Sugary Sunday's Colour Choice

 

Good Morning Everyone, this will be my last posted card for over a week, though I will be scheduling one for next Wednesday as I have my two grandsons coming on Saturday for a weeks holiday, and my eldest grandson will be getting married Saturday week (18th) so Im going to be banished from my craft room for just over a week and will be relying on my hubbys computer to deal with my emails and such forth. Anyway todays card is for this weeks two Facebook Challenges Sundays with Santa's "Ribbons and Charms" and Sugary Sunday's "Colour Choice" and Ive used the Funky Kits image, not sure of the name so please forgive me, Ive coloured it as the colour chart says

anyway I hope you think I have, Ive then used Nestabilitie Die Labels No.5 to cut it out then used the die to draw around to create the mount for it.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card, and for the first mount is a pink card then on top I have used one of Donna's brand new "Christmas Light" digi paper set, there are some gorgeous papers in this set and you should pop across to the Bearlymine Design Shop and see for yourself. I have then wrapped two ribbons around the middle and placed my mounted image towards the right. I then created a ribbon bow with two smaller ribbons and popped a Santa Charm on it, then stuck in the middle of the larger ribbon on the left hand side. The final flourish are the four dew drops stuck in the two corners on the left.

Good Morning Crafters, well yet another week has flown by over at the Bearlymine Challenges and this week we want to see "Sparkle and Shine" on your cards, and before I start Im sure you will want to know who is sponsoring us this time, and its the fabulous "Kenny K" so you will want to take part Im sure.

And for my card I have used "Pop Star"

and you will find it here, I printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used Nestabilitie Die Label No.6 to cut it, then used a glue pen around the edge and then used some glitter around the edge.
My base card is a 6"x 6" white card, and for my first paper I have used Donna's Bearlymine "Spring Surprise" digi papers set and you will find them here. For my first layer its a pale blue background with swirls around the edge, on top I have used a star Nestabilie die to cut out several sized stars and mounted them onto the card before sticking my image in the middle, with the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
To finish of I have used several different flowers and created a floral spray in the top left hand corner, an attached them to the card with silicone glue on top of punched out leaves.

A Card for Sundays with Santa

 

Good Morning Everyone, do you know its quite chilly here in Gloucestershire and its threatening rain yet again, I do wish it would make its mind up what the season really is, Im sure just hoping that it improves radically by the 18th as my eldest grandson is due to get married in Norfolk, and Ive also got two of my youngest daughters sons coming for a weeks holiday from the 11th so its going to be all go after next Saturday, just keep your fingers crossed the weather improves by then.

Anyway this weeks Sundays with Santa Challenge is all about "Layers" so Ive used this gorgeous "Silent Night" from The Paper Shelter and cut it out with a Rectangle Nestabilie Die, and then cut a larger one from red card for the mount, Ive also used some red ink and distressed the edges of the image with it.

The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and for my first mount is a piece of red card, the papers I have used are all from Donna's Bearlymine Christmas design sets, I carnt give you the names as Ive actually mixed them up, the first one is a red background with holly wreaths on, for the second Ive used a striped one and a holly border and corner punch on, and for the third is sentiment paper and for this I have used the border punch and just done the one edge with it.

To finish of I have used three poinsetta flower in the top left hand corner and stuck them to the card with some silicone glue and punched out holly leaves. Ive not put a separate sentiment on but Im using the paper as one instead.
